I would not write a review of this Walgreens if not for Alexander. He alone is the purpose of this review and all the stars go to him, with one knocked off because the parking situation. He was so incredibly welcoming when I walked in the door gave me a bright, happy good morning when I walked in. I stopped at the photo counter and he was the one who came to help me there to pick up the photos that I had had printed. When he said that he could go ring me up at the register or if I had other things to pick out to feel free to do that. It reminded me that I did in fact have a couple items that I needed to get which I quickly picked up with his help because he knew exactly where the item that I was looking for was. And then when I left and he checked me out, he was chipper as I'll get out, especially for someone who had come in on his day off on a day that was absolutely beautiful. Not at all Alexander related, but it must be mentioned: The parking lot is an absolute freaking mess. It seems like the only way you're actually supposed to enter the parking lot is via driving north and entering from that direction. Leaving is also a one-way situation, continuing north. This review is specifically for the pharmacy, because everyone else that works in the store is great and so pleasant. On July 3, I visited the Walgreens pharmacy after being seen at BestMed Urgent Care across the street. Because it was a holiday and we weren't sure which pharmacies would be open, the provider gave me a handwritten prescription. At approximately 9:20 a.m., I dropped off my prescription with Hannah. From the beginning, the interaction was not pleasant. She seemed more focused on questioning my address than helping me. She was unable to locate my profile even though I have filled several prescriptions at this Walgreens. I've lived at the same address for the past three years, so I'm not sure why my information wasn't current. She told me to return in an hour. When I came back, her demeanor had not improved. She informed me that the Trillium insurance network was "down," so she could not bill my insurance. Since it was a holiday and I had both a sinus and ear infection, I asked what my options were. She told me I could either wait or pay cash. I asked whether I could be reimbursed later if I paid out of pocket, and she told me I would need to contact Trillium. Wanting to begin treatment as soon as possible, I paid cash. Today, I contacted Trillium and spoke with pharmacy representative Kenny. He confirmed that the Trillium system was not down. Instead, the claim had been rejected because the prescribing provider was not enrolled as a Medicaid provider. He explained that all I needed was a corrected prescription from the urgent care, after which Walgreens could reprocess the claim and reimburse me. After waiting on hold with the pharmacy for more than 30 minutes without anyone answering, I went into the store. After standing at the counter for several minutes before being acknowledged, Hannah came to assist me. I explained what Trillium had told me and mentioned that I had the representative on the phone. Before hearing the explanation, Hannah immediately became defensive and insisted, "It was down." While speaking with the Trillium representative, she rolled her eyes, made visible faces, and appeared irritated that I was trying to resolve the issue. The interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. I then had to return to the urgent care because the corrected prescription was initially sent to the wrong pharmacy. After another trip back to Walgreens, my prescription was finally reprocessed and I was reimbursed. While I appreciate that the reimbursement was ultimately completed, the entire situation could have been avoided. Had I been told on July 3 that the claim was rejected due to the prescribing provider's Medicaid enrollment status, I could have immediately returned to urgent care and had the prescription corrected. Instead, I spent two additional hours making phone calls and traveling back and forth between the pharmacy and urgent care. Mistakes happen, and I understand that pharmacy staff work under pressure. What was most disappointing was the lack of communication, professionalism, empathy, and accountability throughout the process. At no point did Hannah acknowledge the misunderstanding or apologize for the inconvenience. As someone who was already sick and simply trying to get medication, I left feeling frustrated and unsupported. Healthcare should include compassion as well as accuracy. What could improve? Literally everything. Slow ass wait times, rude ass employees; Walgreens Corporate seriously needs to get on this location's ass about their lackluster service. They consistently are late and screw up prescriptions, one time they tried billing $1100!!!! for a fucking ambien prescription that normally costs 9 bucks, and don't even bother calling. Horrible service at pharmacy!!! I have been waiting for 40 mins to get some wal-fed. I was 4th in line. The person behind the counter was not experienced, couldn't type on the computer, couldn't find information on the screen. She couldn't hear and was making customers write all their info down and then couldn't read the handwriting. Many people working in the pharmacy. No one offered to help. As customers we asked for help for her and no one showed up. I left and there were 10 people in line. This is not customer service! The drive thru was moving very quickly. If I could give negative stars I would. The male pharmacy attendants was rude, arrogant, and completely uninterested in trying to be even tolerable to communicate with. Unhelpful and utterly miserable is how he came off. It may not be entirely in him though -- I called to share my experience with a manager and was hung up on. If I could do minus five million stars, I would. The worst pharmacy I have ever dealt with, and I have lived in five states over fifty years. Refills that require a doctor's ok, per my docs, they never received a request from Walgreens. Frequent lying that my scripts are ready, but they aren't. Without naming names, my previous provider was over charging Medicare and I thought that was grossly inappropriate. This company really does an excellent job. TERRIBLE service after surgery for medication pick up. Would not recommend. Prescription was called in hours before pick up. Staff was not friendly or timely and did not consider the pain the patient was under. If you are needing medication after surgery for pain PLEASE save your time and money and go somewhere else. I do visit this Pharmacy quite often, so I feel I am in the position to state an objective review. I use the drive-thru 90% of the time. This Pharmacy is not my neighborhood pharmacy. However, after 'testing' other Walgreens in Eugene...Coburg Road is hands down consistently the best. Their attentiveness, customer service & dedication to empathize with their customers is admirable. Although, it may be inconvenient for some that their 1/2 hour lunch is at 1:30-2:00. The customer has many alternatives to this so called 'inconvenience'-you can have your RXs sent to you free within 24-48 hours! Or, schedule to be there before or after this very hardworking pharmacy's staff short lunch. Honestly, I truly wish they were able to take an hour lunch, which it so much deserved. read more

RE: pharmacy & staff: the pharmacy line is typically long outside or in the drive through, yes. but given how overworked the staff are, they have never been unpleasant, annoyed, or made me feel rushed. the long line is worth the wait bc they take the time to meet each indeviduals need instead of rushing you off to focus on getting through the line quickly over ensuring each person gets the attention and information they deserve. everyone complaining makes sense but i can pretty much guarantee none of the complainers could last two days w/o losing their $#!+ on a customer or rushing people off. give the pharmacy staff a break. if you have a problem, write corporate. i'm sure the staff would much prefer to have a "doable" day to day work load. the problem is not the staff - it's the corporate greed focusing on the bottom line instead of the well-being of the customers and the dedicated specialists who serve them at the pharmacy. read more

I get Oregon has laws that make sure employees get lunch. Am all for it. Though on the east coast that is totally alien to us. When I first got here and the pharmacy was closed for 30 min, it boggled my mind. Ok, maybe employees were abused. I was refused care at the Walgreens in Eugene Oregon. I pulled up to the drive thru after talking to the pharmacy an hour before. No one told me you'd be closing early. No one told me and when I get to the drive thru whoever is working is putting signs up of being closed and accused me of coming to get a narcotic I'm not even prescribed. This is insane. These are dark times and I rely on your pharmacy. I went to the EMERGENCY ROOM to get a prescription. I talked to a pharmacist on the phone and in person. I was refused care extremely rudely. Tried to call for over two hours to see if an antibiotoc was called in. I finally gave up and drove in. I asked why they did not answer the phone and the pharmacists answers "who answers the phone these days" I was told I had to come in to the store to fill the prescription. While I was waiting the phone rang. A tech looked at the number and said the name and pharmacist shook his head. I asked to speak to a manager who said she could do nothing about pharmacy. After waiting over an hour I was told I had to go to River road because they could not fill my prescription. I told the tech who said to come in the store and wait an hour she should be fired and attempted to leave the store. The pharmacy manager ran after me as if she was going to assault me. I turned around to face her and she told the tech to call the police and report I was combative. I left the store once she finally backed off from me and called the police myself. They refused to come if I was not in the store anymore. I went to river road and picked up the prescription. As I was handed the antibiotic prescription the store manager came to the register and said "dont give her anything the other store called." The antibiotic prescription had no copay and was already filled so I took it and left before they could grab it back from me. I stated that I will be outside to meet the police if they wanted to make a false report as well. They just said "don't come back" Do not worry, I will not ever use another Walgreens, ever. False police reports and assaultive behavior get folks like me killed by police. read more

This review is mainly for the pharmacy I come here for my prescriptions being that Wal-mart and ShopKo both take multiple hours to fill some prilosec. This place is convenient, they have a drive through which is a HUGE help for me considering I have a 2 year old and don't always feel like getting out of the car. The help is semi-friendly....Last time I stopped by the lady asked for my zip code. I said, "9-7-" and she cut me off and continued on with, "have a good day." In all honesty....it was really funny the way it went down. But she did cut me off...some people would've been pissed and freaked out, but my mother and I found it quite humorous. The photos that I had developed were slotted to be done in a week, it took a month and a half. I had to go in every week because they would not contact me when they were done, I had to guess. When the photos were finally finished, they neglected to tell me that their CD burner had been broken for month, before I placed the order. When I looked at the actual quality of the photos they were horrible. Color was off, lighting was not reflective of my shooting, and there was solution bleed at the edges, really horrible work (I used to develop color photos).
