People are nice and they do the best they can considering they appear to be massively understaffed. They rarely answer their phone and they don't take messages, so if you have to request a refill that can't be done online, you have to go in person. Don't bother calling. People at the register are super nice, and they try to work through the long lines as quickly as possible but it's kind of a mess. I'm shocked at how unfriendly and judgmental staff are at this location. I've tried to get a Covid and flu vaccine before I leave on a cross country trip and have been turned away 3 times in the last month. I'm a seventy plus female and it is an hour round trip drive to this pharmacy. Today a tech offered to schedule an appointment for me. I was resigned and frustrated as my departure date is now a week away. I said "I hope it's a good one" in a normal voice and received a lecture from a twenty something tech about not having to help me because of my rudeness. Obviously the staff is hostile to seniors. They are only helpful if you never have to call to fill a prescription. If you ever have to call they will ignore the phone for days and days on end. I have done everything. Ive tired calling over and over, they never answer. Ive tried calling the customer service line and asking them to please get the attention of someone in the pharmacy. This also doesnt work. I have even spoken to the general manager of the entire store, and that got me through to the pharmacy, ONCEP. This pharmacy is an absolute and utter disaster if you ever and i mean EVER have to call them to fill a prescription. Unless you can afford the time to call at strategic times for days on end, YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO GET YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS FILLED. I absolutely despise this pharmacy. It doesn't matter how friendly they are in person. If you cant get through to anyone to have my prescriptions filled they just say to use the app. I CANT USE THE APP SOME OF MY PRESCRIPTIONS MUST BE CALLED IN AND I HAVE NO CHOICE! I was at the Safeway pharmacy picking up another prescription and I asked them when my other prescription would be ready to fill and they said call us on Friday and you can pick it up on Saturday. So that's what I did. I called him on that Friday and they said OK I'll put it in the queue to be filled on Saturday so I called them on Saturday and they informed me that it couldn't be filled until Monday, which I made sure I had enough medication till Saturday so I had none for the Sunday following. The withdrawal symptoms were so bad that ended up at McKenzie Hospital ER because the symptoms were so severe. Now I will own my part of this which I should've monitored the amount of the previous prescription better but I should not have been told that I could get it filled on that Saturday, which they never apologized for or admitted any wrongdoing, so obviously I will never step foot in that store to go to the pharmacy ever again. The store is good. We shop there quite often, but I will have nothing to do with that pharmacy ever again. They are very rude and when they make a mistake, they will never admit it. I just went to the Safeway Pharmacy on Coburg Road in Eugene for a flu vaccine shot. I was so impressed with how they handled walk in vaccine patients. The young lady who was handling the paperwork was very courteous and worked quickly even though there was quite a line. She answered everyone's questions and never seemed exasperated. The nurse who gave the shot was very friendly and worked very quickly though the series of patients who were in the waiting room. Top notch workers! Thanks! read more

This was once one of the best pharmacies in our area, with kind and competent staffing. Attention was given not only to the details of a given prescription but to the patient. Regrettably that is no longer the case. I won't hazard a guess as to why. Phone follow ups are no more, as they explained, "We don't have time." Hence the patient does not know the status of any given prescription when they go to pick up. Often they are "out" but fail to relay that vital information. For elderly and disabled folks this is a real hardship. Kindness and care aren't options in this field, they are necessary. Shame and blame have no place. Tim is a rock star and should be teaching every technician before they hit the ground running. At one time there was no turn over. It is a revolving door at this point; so little care can be given to faithful customers. The corporate office and manager would do themselves a favor by tending this situation. read more

Generally they are pretty nice and I had been getting all my prescriptions here, however no longer. The last time I went in the lady behind me in line would NOT stand back in line during rx council. I told the pharm tech.. the tech refused to move screens to the other end. The head pharmacist came up for council, again I expressed my concern & he didn't care. He sat right there and out loud told me & and everyone around, about the meds I was picking up. The woman in line behind me heard everything. Never in my life have I felt so embarrassed or violated. Safeway pharmacy on coburg Road is a JOKE. Twice now they have run out of my very much important medication and all they can say is "sorry." I've come in for two years for this same medication and they know I need it. They blatantly blow me off and tell me to wait so they can re order it. You can explain to them your situation any way you like, and they still don't give a flying fart. It's like asking for too much for these cream faced loons to have your medicine on hand when you need it. Find another pharmacy. This place is horrendous read more

This pharmacy blows. Don't waste your time coming here. I come here monthly for prescriptions, along with occasional prescriptions for illness throughout the year. Every time I come, no matter how early I call it in, I always am told I have to wait for about a 30 minutes to an hour. What is the point of calling a prescription a day ahead if you are told to wait? I have lost count on how many times I've had to deal with this. If I could give this place no star at all, I would. I am going out of town and I needed my Rx filled early so I asked my doctor to call and ask them to fill it early because I won't be here to get it when I need it. She called early this morning and left a message. I called three times throughout the day asking if they'd gotten a call every time was a no. So my doctor called one more time and told the pharmacy she left a message this morning because I needed my prescription today. They said "sorry we've been really busy today and haven't gotten to any of our messages we'll fill it right away" An hour and a half later I showed up to get my Rx and after waiting in line for 15 minutes was told it wouldn't be ready for another 30 minutes. When I told the pharmacist what the situation was he said that doctors need to stop predicting wait times because "they just don't know how busy we can get" This pharmacy has never once been on time with my Rx's or even tried to apologize for it. read more

I have a fever and feel really sick...had to walk all the way to Safeway to try picking up my prescription to only be told that it wasn't going to be ready for nearly 4 hours. Although my prescription was faxed in 6 hours before I got there, I was told to go to a different window since I was new there. The gal who took my info (once she got off the phone) was very unhelpful and not very competent. Just a pain when you're already feeling bad. Overall it was a long wait plus multiple lines for something that should have been ready hours before I arrived. I should have paid attention to the low ratings here. There's one guy who knew what he was doing and kindly offered help and a place to sit. And the guy who rang it up was friendly, so a star each for them. But I will think twice before filling a prescription here again. read more

Don't bother coming here unless you have an hour to kill. I call in my prescriptions DAYS in advance and they're never ready. I wait in line for 20-30 minutes only to be told they will "be ready in about 15 minutes" once I get up there. I just turn around and get back in line to wait yet again. I had my prescription transferred to the pharmacy and was called within two hours letting me know it was ready for pick up. I went in to pick it up during peak hours and they were fast and efficient.
