It's a pro that this is a 24/7 pharmacy. The staff are also nice. The main downfall was the inaccurate wait time. As a healthcare worker, I completely empathize with long wait times, and I was more than happy to circle back around when my medications were ready. However, I was told my medication would be ready in an hour, so I returned an hour later to wait in the drive thru line. After waiting in line for another hour, I was told that only one of my items were ready, and if I wanted to wait another hour the rest mighhht be ready. I left, but it would've been better if they had set up expectations from the beginning so that I didn't have to waste 2 hours waiting just to leave empty handed. read more

Went into Walgreens today to get some sunscreen since I have a team building thing at work. It was before 7am and at the counter sat two employees. I noticed one door blocked off and a large sign that warned "MOST of the isles are closed off for cleaning." MOST not ALL. Grabbing a small hand basket I could see the sunscreen right in front of me. About to grab it the woman employee said firmly that ALL of the isles are closed. Okay. They why are the doors open for customers. Then the male employee made a snarky comment that "Too bad I didn't make a huge sign for people to see. Yes it was very ignorant of me to think that if they were open for business that I would be allowed to buy something. Both employees were very rude. Without saying a single word I then sat the basket back down and left. That is when the two employees behind the counter began laughing loudly and calling me stupid. Here's the thing, I rarely shop at Walgreens since it's so rachet. I mean the parking spot permanently reserved for the police is a dead giveaway that the store is shitty. Now my rarely shopping at Walgreens is now a never shops at Walgreens. There are many other stores to choose from. As far a sunscreen goes a co-worker said they would share theirs with me. So not only having a dirty nasty rachet store the employees are the last thing to finally run me off for good. read more

This location is slower than molasses. Honestly, they could not work at a slower speed. The drive thru took 55 mins for 4 cars to get through. When it was my turn, I had my card ready, paid and then they said it would take more time as the medicine wasn't ready (I had already been called and told it was ready). 20 minutes later, still here and still waiting for the medication. The worst experience ever dropping a FedEx package off on Saturday called day Monday. They told me it was picked up then I called Monday night. The package was still there. I actually had to go in on Tuesday and pick up the package and they scanned it in showing that it was delivered avoided out the postage. So when I dropped it off, it showed it was delivered already so I had to call FedEx had them pull the envelope and corrected it. I'll just because of the incompetence of the people in the photo department thought it was OK to lie to me and mislead me. Terrible customer service. This place is beyond awful. I called 6-8 times to check on my prescription and they kept telling me they needed additional time and it would be ready in about 1-2 hours. This happened multiple times throughout the day and when I called back the next day they said they needed to order the medication so it would take another 5 days. I have been out of meds for almost a week now and just get the runaround whenever I call. This is peak late stage capitalism, this crappy chain pharmacy comes in and puts all of the smaller pharmacies out of business and after achieving a monopoly, it claims it is not profitable so corners are cut everywhere, customer service gets tossed out the window and everyone is forced to go to this dumpster fire of a pharmacy because they're the only one in town. This Walgreens should not exist and the fact it does should be considered a crime against humanity. read more

This review is for the pharmacy only. I went to pick up my insulin and they only gave me 1 pen. They said that my doctor only ordered one pen. Highly doubtful since I have been taking that insulin forever. I messaged my doctor and the office just got back to me today. According to the NP, she spent a lot of time dealing with this issue. Basically the pharmacy staff are incompetent and always dropping the ball in one area or another. She said that the pharmacy was using the old prescription and they never sent the prior authorization form to their office. Sigh. I dread having to deal with this pharmacy and their staff for my medication needs. Good luck if you have this pharmacy. read more

I did an online order for photos and opted for free store pick up. I went to go pick up the photos and realized they did not fulfill the order of 10 photos. I got 8 photos along with 2 blank/white photos. I was able to chat with a representative online who was no help and told me I would have to go back to the store since they do not have access to these orders to reprint. A week later, I'm able to visit a store. I go to the counter photo and explain the situation. The lady tells me I need to reorder the two missing photos online. Why would I pay for something they messed up on? There is no way to see what photos are in what order # when I go into my account so there is no way for me to remember or see what photos are missing. This pharmacy never has anything in stock. Expect to have your time disrespected. Typically after waiting in line for half an hour or longer you will be told to come back later or the next day. On average it takes 3 visits before they fill a prescription. read more

Use this Walgreens for some of my photo orders. Most orders are ready in an hour. Picking up the orders sometimes takes time but allows you time to browse around. Found this super unique Elk Groveopoly board game here, which is super unique and so fun! It's only $20 here, I've never seen this anywhere else in Elk Grove, game set has all the local shops/landmarks of Elk Grove in it--which is pretty cool! read more

This pharmacy is super busy since it's 24/7. The staff are nice, but they're pretty slow at filling prescriptions. I was in a lot of pain and even told them I needed my meds ASAP, but they said it's first come, first serve which is fine, I'm happy to wait. My main issue is they never follow up with a call or text when the prescription is ready. It would be great if they could notify customers, especially when someone is sitting there in pain. read more

I called to inquire when I could pick up the remainder of my 90 day RX,as I only picked up a 30 day supply earlier last week. I spoke to a man and ashed him if the remainder of my 90 Rx was ready for pickup. He checked the computer system and said that there was nothing there. I explained that I picked up a partial supply last week and that I was told to call today to see if the remaining porton was ready.. He said that there is nothing for me. That is was not a 90 day supply and that I picked it up already. The there is no such thing as a "Partial" supply and that in the 11 years that he has been there he has not seen this. I tried explaining what the previous pharmacist told me and that he continued to argue about "Partial" supply not being how it works there. He went on and on so I hung up. About 10 minutes later he called to say that my Rx was ready for pickup. I said, "So ti was there and you just didn't look"?"I told o that it was a 90 day supply but that you just wanted to argue about the use of the term "Partial". He said, "It not that, it's a technical tings and I don't want to walk about it". I said, "You just lied, that's all". He insisted that he did not. He said it was ready for pick up. I advised him that I would pick it up tomorrow and hung up. Horrible, horrible experience and interaction. It's been going down hill at this location for over a year. Later in the day I received voice message from the Pharmacy representative and was asked to call back regarding my Rx. I walled back, was placed on hod twice after navigating through the IVR system, then was hung up on. I haven't received another call regarding this so I guess attempting to contact me ONCE equates to doing their job to address customer concerns. Later that same day I received an email from Walgreen's Rep and was asked to email back or call if I wanted to discuss my experience because the "Value" me as a customer. I responded by recounting my poor experience with Walgreen's pharmacy. I haven't heard from them since sending my reply email. So if I am a "Valued Customer", why do I have to make an extra effort to reach out to them? I will be taking my business to another pharmacy. read more

You'd think the manager of this store might check the reviews and see how bad this store ranks and what needs to be improved. Customer service is impossible, the staff (in the pharmacy) are so overworked they don't have time to give customer service. It will take you a minimum of 30 minutes at the store to pick up a prescription, whether at drive thru or in store. There is not enough staff for the customer base. Was just there, middle of the afternoon and there is one tech working both pharmacy windows. I've used this pharmacy for years because it's open 24 hours, but I'm done. It's not just the lack of techs either, I've had to stand at that window for some time while they attempt to find my prescription because it's not where it should be. And finally, try calling the store, you will be on hold for a looooong time and then you may or may not actually talk to someone at that store, it may be someone in another state picking up the rollover calls. I'm done, in the process of transferring all my prescriptions elsewhere. The manager of the store has to be aware of the issues and most likely hears from disgruntled customers, to me that says the manager doesn't care about the customer experience, so they no longer need my business. read more

They give you a time to come back and it always takes twice as long as the estimated time if not more. It's a joke. This pharmacy must only employ the bottom of the barrel. I've been here to pick up prescriptions 4 times in the last month and a half and every time is a mismanaged fiasco. They either can't find the already bagged prescriptions or don't fill them until days after they receive it. Today my wife came by to pick them up and they weren't ready, though it was received by them yesterday, and I just came in a few hours later and they still haven't gotten to it. I'm going to have to pick them up tomorrow, 2 days after the doctor sent them in. I'm going to switch to a different pharmacy. This place is a spectacle of a joke. read more

Every time I have a prescription sent over and don't pick it up asap, they take it off the shelves and tell me they don't have my prescription. This 24-hour pharmacy is overwhelmed and overscheduled. They work hard and are doing the best they can, but they need help! It is not fair to make so many customers drive out to Elk Grove to get their prescriptions. We need more than one 24-hour pharmacy within a 30-mile range. My regular Walgreen's pharmacy on Broadway in Sacramento closed at 6:30 p.m. yesterday, Sunday. The pharmacy is also closed today - Memorial Day. Therefore, I had to drive an extra hour (roundtrip), wait in line (with 16 other people) for another hour in order to pick up my medications. It felt like I was in the former Soviet Union, waiting in a very long line to get my prescription filled. What a total drag! So unfair to customers and to the poor pharmacists who were scrambling to try and fill dozens of prescriptions. You need to double the number of 24-hour pharmacies Walgreen's has to offer! Literally almost died because of this horrible pharmacy. I was having an asthma attack and lost my inhaler. Had to call my refill in because the app is trash. Told me to come in an hour, which I don't get why it takes an hour to throw an effing sticker on a box they're not even counting pills. I told them it was an emergency too. I even called them prior to my father leaving just to make sure it was ready. My elderly father had to drive for the first time in months because I was losing consciousness and he got there in exactly an hour just for them to tell him and the THREE PEOPLE IN LINE they have to wait an hour and a half for some dumb ass reason. My dad literally begged them to give him my inhaler but they didn't give a crap. I ended up having to call 911 and I regained consciousness in an ambulance. We're lucky to have this 24 hours Walgreens in Elk Grove. I believe there are only two Walgreens in the Sacramento area open 24 hours. This one is at the corner of Laguna Blvd. and Bruceville Road. The store is pretty standard, like most the Walgreens built from the ground up in the Sacramento area. This is a big store with many household items, sodas, and snacks. Of course, the most important thing is the 24 hours pharmacy. Another opened 24 hours Walgreens is at Citrus Heights. It is pretty far away! The parking lot in this Walgreens is busy most of the time. Parking spaces in front of the entrance are harder to find. But you should be able to get parking in the parking lot with only a short walk. The Drive-thru pharmacy window is at the side of the building. It often has a long line, and sometimes it blocks the exit at the Bruceville Road entrance to the parking lot. read more
