I recently booked a glam makeup service with Annabelle, and she was absolutely amazing! Not only did she create a beautiful look, but she also took the time to teach me so much about makeup application and, most importantly, proper skin prep before makeup. I live across from Sephora and visit about 4 times a month, so I've interacted with many team members over time. They sell everything from cosmetics, fragrances, bath and body, makeup gadgets, gifts and much more!! The store is nice and their employees are so helpful!! We enjoy the samples, too. The workers were pretty friendly and they offered their assistance no matter where you are in the store. I walked around and looked at all the displays. I was really surprised with their Korean Beauty Products. It was fun taking dabs onto my wrist of samples. It was a productive visit as I didn't know they had these great products. One of the bigger and only Sephoras in Elk Grove. All of the workers are super nice here and I find this one to be in stock of the popular items more often compared to other locations. I went during the sale and everything was still clean and organized. Workers were still able to help me and even when the line was long and it moved fairly quickly. Omggg if you need foundation matching you *have* to go here and ***specifically*** ask for Annabelle!!! My olive undertone makes foundation matching a nightmare lol but Annabelle was a total badass. Suuuper thorough, we went through several foundation shades. I didn't feel the consultation being rushed at all. She was patient and very open to my own feedback, so throughout the consultation there was a lot of natural back-and-forth communication. She's one of the resident makeup artists here, and I'm very inclined to go to her if I ever want to book a makeup appointment. If you're curious, she ended up foundation matching me with Giorgi Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Foundation (I pointed out to her that I have dry skin) after doing trials of Haus Labs and Fenty foundations. The other store associates were also very friendly as well. My only criticism here is that this Sephora doesn't have a Natasha Denona display (wanted to try the foundation lol) but, hey, it is quite a small Sephora. It's amazing how one person can completely damper your experience. So, I wanted to try a new makeup that I came across and found out Sephora carried it. YAY!! When I walked into this location, I was greeted by Jay who was such a delight. They helped me find what I was looking for, helped color matched me and offered a few other products they thought I would benefit from. This was my first errand of the day and they just added to me feeling good. Until I got to the counter where Mara was standing. Mara was leaning against the back counter when I walked up so I wasn't sure if they were the one who would be helping me or not. They didn't greet me as I stood there waiting for someone to help (I was the only one in line). When they finally did speak the only the they said was "are you paying with cash or card?" Wow! I explained that I had a gift card but wasn't sure if there was a credit on it. I made a couple of other comments but they didn't respond to anything. I put the product I was purchasing on the counter but it was a little bit out of their reach so they leaned over and snatched it off the counter. I wanted to ask if they were having a bad day because the energy coming off of them was very unpleasant. At the end of my transaction they didn't say thank you for you shopping or have a good day or anything. As I was leaving I went to Jay and asked to speak to a supervisor. I explained my experience and they said they would address it. I understand people might not be in the best moods and I don't expect a song and dance but working in the customer service industry where you interact with people regularly, you should, at the very least, be pleasant. Koko is amazing!!! Trust the process. I recently got my make up done. I just wanted something different and bold for a special occasion. The staff has a really cool tool that scans your skin to determine best color match for foundation. I had not previously had that done. It was super fast and my skin looked flawless. I did not feel pressured to get any upsells. Honestly it was really relaxing. They have quite a few spa services only downside is they open at 10am and you have to book online. I believe I saw there was availability for 9am slot but don't quote me on that. Pro tip: book early and be flexible if you have a specific look in mind. I am thrilled that Elk Grove now has a Sephora!! Specifically for my growing tween as she's obsessed with all things around skincare and slowly becoming interested in make up. We don't live near EG anymore but the location is prime and doesn't require me to haul myself all the way to the mall. This store is larger than a Sephora inside a Kohl's yet smaller than one inside the mall. It's for sure a happy medium between the two! Plenty of sections to select from whether you're looking for perfumes, skincare, and/or makeup like we were today. I will say I ran into a couple of areas that seemed awfully bare. This was because one of two things: it was a hot item and sold out quickly or they still needed to restock. Unfortunately, most stores if not all run into this issue so this isn't solely with Sephora. Everyone was extremely nice in here as we were shopping for our 12 year old birthday girl. Enthusiastically greeted us, asked if we needed help finding something (as we confusingly walked in circles lol), answered our questions, and kindly thanked us for coming in as we left the store. I was in the area and wanted to pick up perfume for a friend's upcoming birthday. I usually order Sephora online and can't even remembered the last time I was in the store, so this is a nice experience to be able to touch, smell and try things. This location in Elk Grove is more convenient for me because I'm not a big fan of Arden mall. The pop-up at Kohl's feels limited and always low in stock on the items I need. After smelling what feels like a hundreds of different perfume, I found the one! Sadly, the line was really long and I just don't have the time. I end up ordering the perfume online, but it's still nice to check out all the new brands and trending products in the store! Customer service is lacking. This Sephora is so convenient! There is ample parking and you don't have to deal with the Arden Mall madness. It does feel a tad smaller than Arden's location but definitely a lot better than the spot inside Kohl's. Upon walking in we were greeted and I noticed they had their own private security guard standing guard at the door. At Arden I feel they hound everyone and are constantly lurking around all corners as if everyone is a shoplifter, I didn't get that here. As a matter of fact, other than the "hello, welcome in" at first, we weren't spoken to or acknowledged for quite some time. My daughter wanted to buy some Tom Ford perfume and we were going back and forth on which one to get for awhile, at this point an employee did pop up and offered a suggestion of buying 2 travel size bottles at $70 each versus spending $300 for one 1.5 oz bottle. Great recommendation and that's what we did. At checkout she informed me I'm still eligible for my free birthday gift which I completely forgot about, so I got a nice little surprise for myself too! Overall the experience was pleasant, I didn't feel like a criminal like I do at Arden and I appreciated their recommendations. read more

I really appreciate MELINDA taking her time to help me find the perfect foundation, and other make items to complete the look I'm going for! The time spent really makes it worth the drive and that I'm passing up other Sephora stores to come to this one. I never feel watched here which makes the experience even that much better. Really happy that there is a Sephora in EG so that if I'm in a pinch, I can come here! The store is small but many brands and items to choose from. It wasn't that busy and the store wasn't crowded. The store was very clean and shelves well stocked. There was someone that greeted me as I was browsing and asked if I needed help. I was browsing and declined assistance. I came in for an Hourglass mascara and a primer which I was able to find. The mascara took sometime to search for but it's because I was scanning too quickly to notice it was right in front of me! I like to shop without too much assistance. Overall, customer service was good and I would definitely come back since there's now a standalone store in Elk Grove. Plenty of products such as Lancome, Hourglass, YSL, Glow Recipe, Tatcha, Adwoa, Dry Bar, Dyson etc. They also have a section for fragrances. I was reading Google reviews and most complained of how low the visibility is of the store (i.e., can't see from the street). I don't think rating a store low because one can't see it from the street is a valid rating. The Ridge is designed as a large plaza! Definitely come check this place out if you need your usual things that can't be found at Ulta or in a bind and need it right away. read more

Visited this place today because we moved from The Bay Area and I needed to restock on some of my items. I went in and was greeted by the store manager Annika, she seemed nice. The review is about the store associate or whatever that clown was with hot pink Blush by the name of Mara. She looked me up and down when she saw me first, she had a mask on and she thought I didn't notice. I went by her and she didn't even acknowledge me or asked me if I needed any help. I approached her because I needed to pick a foundation and asked if she could help me choose one for oily skin. She said Nars and I asked her if she can color match with her machine to find the perfect shade once I said that I could sense her attitude, she huffed and puffed like she didn't want to serve me and spoke me to like I didn't know anything about makeup, ( I went barefaced), less does she know Iam a certified Beauty Therapist who knows a whole range about makeup and skincare. She tried Nars and Lancôme foundation on me and the colors she applied I wasn't really impressed with. For the Lancôme foundation she applied 3 shades and went over the shade so fast that I didn't get it right when I said it back and she loudly said "oh I didn't even say that shade name", her manager Annikka was standing right next to her with another coworker and didn't even say to keep it down. I felt embarrassed but I made sure that the manager was made aware of how I felt, over the years Sephora has been under fire for racist and rude behavior towards customers and they still tend to hire people like Mara. I hope someone from the corporate sees this and they Fire her for her behavior because as long as people like this work for Sephora, you will always have complaints about them read more

Terrible customer service here. Visited the store today about 20 minutes after it opened so there weren't many customers. There were 2 staff working. I was not greeted (ok no big deal), grabbed the stuff that I needed, and asked Omara for help with a color match. She was very rude and unprofessional. Very condescending attitude. Wish i could give this place a 0 star rating. This is the WORST Sephora to ever go to EVER. The Manager is so rude and very disrespectful. the employees also gave me dirty ass looks. The place, as soon as you step foot you are greeted with 2 security guards that smell horrendous and are also rude.
