She's engaging, friendly, personable, polite, and professional. Appointments can be made easily online or over the phone. I believe it's typically pretty difficult to do walk in appointments unless there's a no show or cancelation. The salon and store are clean and well organized. The girls love to browse the shelves while they're waiting for their appointments. Their prices are reasonable and Courtney does a fabulous job fulfilling their wishes and making them feel pampered. read more

I shop at Ulta for my hair products because of their large variety of hair products to meet my needs. There are plenty of skin care, cosmetics, and fragrances to choose from also that should meet anyone's needs, but i don't purchase them here. I have noticed the prices increasing quite a bit, which is making it a bit harder, but I was able to use a $15 off of $75 to make it a little easier. The service people are pretty good with helping to select the right products for you if you're not sure, so be sure to ask. read more

The staff here acts like you're wasting their time. They don't welcome you in, they don't make eye contact. They all have their RBF's on. It's really uncomfortable to walk in here! It's been a while since I last visited an Ulta Beauty store. But recently, I decided for the New Year, to do a little shopping and splurge on myself. This is my first time coming to this new and improved Ulta since it relocated to behind the Target shopping center a few years ago. I was surprised that they were open on New Year's day, but it worked for me. It wasn't too busy and the staff were friendly and attentive. The salon section was closed. As I entered, I felt like a kid in a candy store. There were so many beauty products to explore! I discovered many popular name brands that I recognized, to other brands unknown to me, that were interesting and enticing! I probably spent a few hours walking up and down the aisles searching for the newest and latest products with promises of making me younger and more beautiful. LOL! In the past, when I would shop at an Ulta, I would get discouraged by the high prices of most luxury type brands. I just can't risk spending that much money on something that doesn't follow through on what it claims to do. Or even, worse, I get a skin reaction that takes several days to clear up. But this time, I was pleasantly surprised to find affordable skin care products that are well known to the public, and often found at local drugstores or department stores. And the prices are still comparable! In addition, I was impressed that they carry "CeraVe", "La-Roshe Posay" and "The Ordinary", featuring a full line of each product! Little did I know that there were so many variations to choose from! It was a breath of fresh air to see everything in stock all at once! I get very frustrated when I have to drive around to different places to find items I routinely use and they are out! But this store has now become my one stop shop for most of my beauty and skin care products. I look forward to returning again soon! read more

I like Ulta because they have a lot of brand choices, and it's easy to find what you need. But this location felt really cluttered and crowded. There isn't much space to move around comfortably, and the walkway to the register is so tight. I felt like I had to get out of there quickly because it was starting to feel a bit claustrophobic. They're willing to help when you ask for it, but don't hover over you as if their life depends on it. Do not get a curly cut here - the stylists don't know how to cut or style wavy or curly hair. I have wavy hair and have had my hair cut here before with good results, and at a good price. But when I recently went, the stylist I've had before wasn't there. Betty cut my hair and it was a terrible experience from start to finish. Probably one of the worst hair style experiences I've ever had in my life. I was left with uneven layers and my hair basically blow dried straight bc she didn't know what she was doing. I could list all the problems with the service, but I would probably run out of space. She was nice though, so that's good I guess. I went back the next day and I spoke to manager who then booked me a follow up service with Andrea. Andrea didn't cut my hair much better - she somewhat fixed the layers, and styled my hair a bit better, but overall it seemed like she wasn't very experienced with wavy/curly hair either. For both appointments I had to go home and reset my whole head and take 20 minutes to restyle my hair appropriately for my wavy hair. It's now been over a week and after my hair has settled, I would say it is in the WORST shape my hair has ever been in for over two years. In fact, shape is the problem - neither stylist know how to appropriately cut and shape my hair for WAVY hair. Even though I paid for a curly cut. My hair has been growing and getting so healthy and strong and now I can't even wear it wavy because I look like a weirdo with the way they cut my hair. Today on my normal wash day I eventually just straightened my hair because I was so upset by how it looks. The stylists at Ulta DO NOT know how to do wavy hair. And my head (and wallet) had to pay for it. I'm sure they are all very good at other cuts and style treatments. But I would not recommend you get your wavy or curly hair cut here. I've tried a different salon and their services were great but Enza is just different. She gets it and comes up with a better color and style. I showed her my inspiration and what I wanted to get done: get rid of gray hairs, go lighter and bring the color up to my roots. Her blend created a honey hue that is perfect for the summer and matches my skin tone. My hair didn't feel fried or dried, if anything it's healthier pre color. Her assistant works well with her and helps make the appointment go by faster. This Ulta is also well stocked unlike other locations. Their website and app does need to be updated. She asked what I came into the store for I explained I was looking for two specific items, particularly a tubing mascara and I didn't want an expensive mascara. She directed me to the mascara. However, that price point was higher than I had intended to pay for mascara. Therefore, she directed me to drugstore one by Milani that I purchased. Then she took me to the hair product Paul Mitchell Aqua Mist that I specifically came into to purchased She had valuable knowledge about this product . She stated the packaging for this product has changed as well as the product had a reduction in the ounces sold. They look at you like you're about to steal these items! Once I was done finalizing my items, I was taken up to the register and had a young female with dark long hair check me out, she was so damn rude and rolled her eyes like she don't wanna be there. I was asking her to honor my birthday gift, but she decided that she was unable to do that. How are these people getting hired? What is the hiring manager looking for in candidates? Does the manager know how to answer interview questions and filter through bad customer service? They all act like they are stuck up, and don't feel bad at all providing this type of customer service to customers. How are they getting away with this type of service ? I have been buying makeup from drugstores and never really thought about the quality of the products I was using on my face, and I'm 62. About a month ago I decided to go to Ulta and look for makeup. I needed foundation, concealer, lipstick, and powder. I was greeted when I walked in and after looking around for a bit I couldn't really choose. I was by the MAC counter and the sweetest sales clerk asked if I needed any assistance. I told her what I was looking for and she made some suggestions and asked if I'd like to have a color match done for my foundation. One of the most annoying things for me when I'm shopping is a pushy sales clerk. But Trinity was so kind and not pushy, really just trying to be helpful, so I said "yes" and accepted her help. She was amazing and really cared about what looked good on my skin and what I wanted. I purchased all that was looking for and a brush and some sponges. My face looks amazing! Pretty confusing and overwhelming for a guy out of his element. Mom needed lipstick and this was the place este lauder stuff. Found the right location and perused the goods. We were greeted by a nice young woman who helped us find the right color for mom. She grabbed one from inventory for us. Off to a smooth checkout with a very kind cashier. For as overwhelming as it was initially things when very smoothly. I think going early on a Thursday sure helped with light traffic at the business. I hurried right along to Ultra on Laguna and Bruceville. Upon arrival, I was welcomed and greeted by the sales representative Meena. Meena was outstanding! She never left my side until all the products I went in the store for were found. She tried several skin samples on my skin for proper shade blending. I specifically went in looking for #Channel Ultra-Light skin perfecting sunscreen makeup. $55 #Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss 726 Icing. $36 She found both products and assisted with helping find other essential products that would add in the applying of the products: E.l.f Halo Glow Power Puff $4 #Revolution IRL Filter 2 in 1 pressed & loose soft focus powder. "I bought everything I came for plus some!" Cashier Alisson was patient and helpful by assisting me with logging on to my Ulta app and finding my coupon. I didn't want to choose a rating for this review because even 1 star would have be too much to give. I booked a haircut appointment with Enza who quoted a price of $67 for a DRY CUT. I have stage 4 breast cancer, and my hair is SHORT and VERY THIN. Google says for Ulta Beauty haircuts, prices are between $40-80 dollars. I feel Enza chose to charge me the $67 price because of my ethnicity. NEVER will I EVER schedule any hair services at Ulta Beauty, ESPECIALLY with ENZA!!! read more

On August 17, 2025 I had an appointment to get my make up done at Sephora in Elk Grove. I received a phone call that morning at 9am stating my appt was cancelled due to the make up artist calling in sick and there was no one else available to do my make up. I went to Ulta to buy a few items so I could do my own make up. I was welcomed by Trinity, who was very helpful and professional. She helped me find the right shade of foundation and introduced me to bronzer and a new concealer. Trinity's customer service skills were top notch. Yesterday made my second weekend in a row visiting this location. Customer service was the same each time. Not welcomed upon arrival then when asking the associates for help i had to wait atleast 10-15 minutes, meanwhile employees are having side conversations amongst each other. Last weekend when i came an associate came near the perfume section where i was, asked another customer RIGHT in front of me if they were finding everything ok, MADE EYE CONTACT with me while i was flagging her down and then walked away . As someone who used to work in the sales/customer service role i am very dissatisfied and disappointed. A shopping experience that could've taken less than 10 minutes including the check out process, ended up taking 15 minutes in which i stood there and waited just for me not to get taken care of smh. And yes, each time (twice each visit) i asked for help i got a "someone will be right with you" and I never even ended up being helped. To make matters worse another African American woman (same race as I) that needed help in the same section said she had experienced the same thing prior to my arrival. Best believe we walked out together! This is not me pulling the victim card because of my race, however we did notice other YT people that walked in after us and got helped were the priority. I mean I get it, there's a stereotype about African American people shoplifting but I mean for Christ sake what i wanted was locked up anyways I make good enough money for me to splurge on myself when I want to, but never again will i be doing so at this location. read more
