I stopped in to test a couple of foundations and the store wasn't too busy, so I was able to take my time. I was deciding between Urban Decay and MAC, and the manager connected me with Trinity, their MAC foundation matching expert. Trinity pulled a few shades just by looking at me and nailed it! N25 matched my neck, but when she tried N30, it blended so perfectly I could barely tell I had foundation on. She definitely knows what she's doing , if you need help finding your MAC shade, go see Trinity! 5 stars for the service! My only complaint was that the Urban Decay tester I wanted to try was completely dried out, so I couldn't even swatch it. Because of that, 4 stars overall. I shop at Ulta for my hair products because of their large variety of hair products to meet my needs. There are plenty of skin care, cosmetics, and fragrances to choose from also that should meet anyone's needs, but i don't purchase them here. I have noticed the prices increasing quite a bit, which is making it a bit harder, but I was able to use a $15 off of $75 to make it a little easier. The service people are pretty good with helping to select the right products for you if you're not sure, so be sure to ask. read more

Our daughters wanted to get their haircuts where mommy gets hers, so Ulta Salon it was. Parking is usually fairly easy to find in their large parking lot. The girls and my wife all love Courtney. She's engaging, friendly, personable, polite, and professional. Appointments can be made easily online or over the phone. I believe it's typically pretty difficult to do walk in appointments unless there's a no show or cancelation. The salon and store are clean and well organized. The girls love to browse the shelves while they're waiting for their appointments. Their prices are reasonable and Courtney does a fabulous job fulfilling their wishes and making them feel pampered. read more

It's been a while since I last visited an Ulta Beauty store. But recently, I decided for the New Year, to do a little shopping and splurge on myself. This is my first time coming to this new and improved Ulta since it relocated to behind the Target shopping center a few years ago. I was surprised that they were open on New Year's day, but it worked for me. It wasn't too busy and the staff were friendly and attentive. The salon section was closed. As I entered, I felt like a kid in a candy store. There were so many beauty products to explore! I discovered many popular name brands that I recognized, to other brands unknown to me, that were interesting and enticing! I probably spent a few hours walking up and down the aisles searching for the newest and latest products with promises of making me younger and more beautiful. LOL! In the past, when I would shop at an Ulta, I would get discouraged by the high prices of most luxury type brands. I just can't risk spending that much money on something that doesn't follow through on what it claims to do. Or even, worse, I get a skin reaction that takes several days to clear up. But this time, I was pleasantly surprised to find affordable skin care products that are well known to the public, and often found at local drugstores or department stores. And the prices are still comparable! In addition, I was impressed that they carry "CeraVe", "La-Roshe Posay" and "The Ordinary", featuring a full line of each product! Little did I know that there were so many variations to choose from! It was a breath of fresh air to see everything in stock all at once! I get very frustrated when I have to drive around to different places to find items I routinely use and they are out! But this store has now become my one stop shop for most of my beauty and skin care products. I look forward to returning again soon! read more

There isn't much space to move around comfortably, and the walkway to the register is so tight. I felt like I had to get out of there quickly because it was starting to feel a bit claustrophobic. The store still has great product options but the layout and crowding made the experience a little overwhelming. read more

Huge shout out to Fatana and all the lovely ladies working at Ulta today. These ladies are a blessing :) My mom and I were looking at some foundation but wasn't sure what to get until Fatana and some other ladies came and color matched us perfectly to this beautiful brand called Natasha Denona! I even got a blush/highlighter set and a lip pencil. My mom got some too :) Because we have darker complexion we didn't know how it was going to turn out and I was shocked at how well they did matching our shades and finding products that complimented our skin. I even got complimented on my lip color after going to another store. My mom and I will definitely be back we had such a good experience. read more

The staff here acts like you're wasting their time. They don't welcome you in, they don't make eye contact. They all have their RBF's on. It's really uncomfortable to walk in here! Do not get a curly cut here - the stylists don't know how to cut or style wavy or curly hair. I have wavy hair and have had my hair cut here before with good results, and at a good price. But when I recently went, the stylist I've had before wasn't there. Betty cut my hair and it was a terrible experience from start to finish. Probably one of the worst hair style experiences I've ever had in my life. I was left with uneven layers and my hair basically blow dried straight bc she didn't know what she was doing. I could list all the problems with the service, but I would probably run out of space. She was nice though, so that's good I guess. I went back the next day and I spoke to manager who then booked me a follow up service with Andrea. Andrea didn't cut my hair much better - she somewhat fixed the layers, and styled my hair a bit better, but overall it seemed like she wasn't very experienced with wavy/curly hair either. For both appointments I had to go home and reset my whole head and take 20 minutes to restyle my hair appropriately for my wavy hair. It's now been over a week and after my hair has settled, I would say it is in the WORST shape my hair has ever been in for over two years. In fact, shape is the problem - neither stylist know how to appropriately cut and shape my hair for WAVY hair. Even though I paid for a curly cut. My hair has been growing and getting so healthy and strong and now I can't even wear it wavy because I look like a weirdo with the way they cut my hair. Today on my normal wash day I eventually just straightened my hair because I was so upset by how it looks. The stylists at Ulta DO NOT know how to do wavy hair. And my head (and wallet) had to pay for it. I'm sure they are all very good at other cuts and style treatments. But I would not recommend you get your wavy or curly hair cut here. I've tried a different salon and their services were great but Enza is just different. She gets it and comes up with a better color and style. I showed her my inspiration and what I wanted to get done: get rid of gray hairs, go lighter and bring the color up to my roots. Her blend created a honey hue that is perfect for the summer and matches my skin tone. My hair didn't feel fried or dried, if anything it's healthier pre color. Her assistant works well with her and helps make the appointment go by faster. This Ulta is also well stocked unlike other locations. Their website and app does need to be updated. I hurried right along to Ultra on Laguna and Bruceville. Upon arrival, I was welcomed and greeted by the sales representative Meena. Meena was outstanding! She never left my side until all the products I went in the store for were found. She tried several skin samples on my skin for proper shade blending. I specifically went in looking for #Channel Ultra-Light skin perfecting sunscreen makeup. $55 #Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss 726 Icing. $36 She found both products and assisted with helping find other essential products that would add in the applying of the products: E.l.f Halo Glow Power Puff $4 #Revolution IRL Filter 2 in 1 pressed & loose soft focus powder. "I bought everything I came for plus some!" Cashier Alisson was patient and helpful by assisting me with logging on to my Ulta app and finding my coupon. I was asking her to honor my birthday gift, but she decided that she was unable to do that. How are these people getting hired? What is the hiring manager looking for in candidates? Does the manager know how to answer interview questions and filter through bad customer service? Hello. This review is late in coming but better late than never I guess. I have been buying makeup from drugstores and never really thought about the quality of the products I was using on my face, and I'm 62. About a month ago I decided to go to Ulta and look for makeup. I needed foundation, concealer, lipstick, and powder. I was greeted when I walked in and after looking around for a bit I couldn't really choose. I was by the MAC counter and the sweetest sales clerk asked if I needed any assistance. I told her what I was looking for and she made some suggestions and asked if I'd like to have a color match done for my foundation. One of the most annoying things for me when I'm shopping is a pushy sales clerk. But Trinity was so kind and not pushy, really just trying to be helpful, so I said "yes" and accepted her help. She was amazing and really cared about what looked good on my skin and what I wanted. I purchased all that was looking for and a brush and some sponges. My face looks amazing! Don't come here for a haircut unless one: you don't care about what haircut you get or two: you feel like practicing your advocacy skills! I booked an elite stylist (the most expensive around 70 dollars-which ok, other specific hair salons charge that much for a haircut nowadays). I showed a picture of my dream hair (I grew my hair out for years) to have a specific cut which ended up not being like it at all! I had my hair washed by the salon assistant then my hired stylist cut my hair. After she cut my hair, I felt like I was being tossed to her assistant who would then blow dry (not style) my hair (and didn't even use any products for heat or style). You would think that paying 70 something dollars you get a cut and style. I also have a sensitive scalp and had to tell her that but she continued on blow drying my hair to high heat ( which I kept flinching btw and told her it was hot but she still didn't get the message). After the assistant was done I had to tell her if there was any product (like a hair oil or something) to use after since she blow dried my hair to high heat (she wasn't going to offer unless I said something). This isn't my first time getting my haircut at Ulta, however this is the first time I got an assistant washing and styling my hair with no product. So overall, this time around, my experience was less than average. The cut was not at all like the picture, and I got a stylist who wasn't there for me throughout my whole haircut experience because she was juggling other clients (I get she is an elite stylist and she has no problem getting clients but for 70 bucks, even at other high end salons, you would get only your hired stylist WITH style and hair products with your haircut experience). The assistant was nice however I didn't hire her to care for my hair (again which I waited years to cut only to get a haircut that did not look at all like the picture/tiktok video I showed). Overall, I gave 3 stars because the overall cut was ok, but the service was not. I felt like just a number, not a paying client. Disappointed and won't be coming back to Ulta for another it if this is the case. read more

Pretty confusing and overwhelming for a guy out of his element. Mom needed lipstick and this was the place este lauder stuff. Found the right location and perused the goods. We were greeted by a nice young woman who helped us find the right color for mom. She grabbed one from inventory for us. Off to a smooth checkout with a very kind cashier. For as overwhelming as it was initially things when very smoothly. I think going early on a Thursday sure helped with light traffic at the business. On August 17, 2025 I had an appointment to get my make up done at Sephora in Elk Grove. I received a phone call that morning at 9am stating my appt was cancelled due to the make up artist calling in sick and there was no one else available to do my make up. I went to Ulta to buy a few items so I could do my own make up. I was welcomed by Trinity, who was very helpful and professional. She helped me find the right shade of foundation and introduced me to bronzer and a new concealer. Trinity's customer service skills were top notch. I have stage 4 breast cancer, and my hair is SHORT and VERY THIN. Google says for Ulta Beauty haircuts, prices are between $40-80 dollars. I feel Enza chose to charge me the $67 price because of my ethnicity. NEVER will I EVER schedule any hair services at Ulta Beauty, ESPECIALLY with ENZA!!! read more
