I have been getting my daily meds through my mail service but when you're sick I have to pick up here. I'm definitely going to be looking into another local pharmacy from now on. Out of all of the Walgreens in the area, the Cranford one is the best!(I've seen some negative reviews and I don't agree with them). I switched over to Cranford Walgreens from Clark, because Cranford Walgreens is willing to take phone orders for prescriptions from my doctor (who's a little more old school). Plus, this pharmacy reminds us of the mom and pop shops that we used to go to years back! Of course, there's times where it's hard to get through but it's because of the volume of work. Prescriptions always get filled, and the doctors always get contacted... It's great to have follow through, and be treated courteously! read more

The store staff is great, but the pharmacy staff seems to be very unhappy to work there. There are constant issues with prescriptions. I typically receive a message that it is ready only to be told at the window that is is not ready. To makes things worse, many of the pharmacy workers have poor manners and act as if they do not care one bit about the the customers. I hope corporate gets to read these reviews and does something about it. As a Cranford resident of 15 years, it bothers me to see such low customer service in great town as this. read more

Came here after a trip to the urgent care and my medications were ready after a half hour. I get texts alerts on my phone that let me know the status of my medications. I find it much easier to use the app instead of calling and using the automated system. The pharmacist answered my questions that I had about the medications and explained when and how to take them. My doctors office submitted a prescription to this pharmacy on my behalf on Friday, January 3rd. At that time, I got a text from Walgreens saying that the RX was delayed due to an insurance issue. I called the pharmacy to make them aware that my insurance doesn't cover this particular prescription and I will be paying out of pocket and to please process the prescription -- remind them really, as I have gotten this same RX here for the past 6 months and this has always been the case. On Saturday, another text saying that my RX was delayed due to an insurance issue. I called the pharmacy a second time to say I would be paying -- please fill it. On Saturday ANOTHER text -- delayed due to insurance, followed by another phone call saying the same thing and this person now confirming it would be ready that day. Sunday I got ANOTHER delayed due to insurance text, but I was at a funeral and not able to deal with this nonsense that particular day. Monday - another delayed due to insurance text when I finally called again and curtly told whoever picked up that this was unacceptable and I needed my prescription and to fill it ASAP as I would be paying for it. Finally, after that phone call, I get a text last night telling me that my RX was ready for pick up. I go to pick it up today and the pharmacy tells me that they have no prescription ready for me as the doctors office has not authorized it yet and they can't release it. This is categorically false (Dr. office confirmed that this was not the case and that they had indeed sent that over Friday when all the texts started) and this has been a nothing but blatant waste of my time. There was a long line behind me, so I was not going to waste anyone else's time with this absurdity, but I let the person at the counter know that I would have it filled elsewhere as I am no longer dealing with this complete and utter incompetence at every level. Moving forward, I will be taking my $1600 a month out of pocket business elsewhere... I guess Walgreens doesn't need the money. I thought about just keeping this to myself and moving on, as at this point, I have shared all these details with my doctor, who has called this in to a pharmacy that actually knows how to function and has taken care of me, but ideally reading about this will help someone else in the future avoid an absolutely unacceptable situation where they can't get what they need. It would be devastating for someone with a real medical need to go 5 days without the prescription they need and no one should not have to jump through hoops to get their prescriptions in a timely fashion. With all that in mind, I suggest trying elsewhere. read more

Despite being slightly displaced from the bustling downtown area, this location seems to get a lot of foot traffic from Cranford and Garwood locals. It's at the intersection of South Avenue West and Lincoln Ave West, diagonally across from a Bank of America and directly across from a Sunoco gas station. If you powerwalk and are lucky with the traffic signals, you can get here from the Cranford train station in under 10 minutes. Interestingly, this Walgreens has a pharmacy drive-thru, the exit of which coincides with the exit of the Chase Bank drive-thru--which necessitates the two stop signs inside the parking lot. Most customers will likely park on the Lincoln Ave side of the building, where the main entrance is. The interior of the store is organized, well-stocked, and like many other Walgreens locations has a small photo center in the front, a pharmacy in the back, and all the seasonal promotional merchandise in one of the center aisles. What annoys me a bit is that contact lens solution and eye drops aren't located with other OTC pharmaceuticals, but next to the ice cream case. Kind of seems like an afterthought. They screw up our scripts almost every time. They give us wrong meds and they say our insurance denied it or that my do not have the insurance info on file despite having filled many scripts on the same insurance plan recently. My insurance has not changed in 20 years They got my wife very sick giving her the wrong meds and their own notes in their computer system advise them of the allergy. I have zero trust in this pharmacy. The pharmacy staff is sarcastic and insulting, from the technicians all the way to the pharmacist in charge. They have a habit of sarcastically laughing you out of there and making you feel like a criminal for asking a question. Eric is absolutely the worst and most ignorant person I've spoken to there, he even had the audacity to refuse to let me speak to the pharmacist several times. They still let him answer the phones and speak to patients in the most condescending of ways possible. Fast forward to yesterday, instead of answering questions I had regarding why I was being denied my medication... I was laughed out of the pharmacy by the pharmacy technician and the pharmacist. It seems that the only qualifications these folks have are to tell patients that they can go off themselves. That and being laughed out of the pharmacy is absolutely debilitating as a patient that has been loyal to the Walgreens pharmacy in Cranford for over a decade. Treat people with respect and understanding instead of treating patients like criminals. I have had nothing but humiliating experiences there for the last several years. I have had medication filled to 1/9th of the actual fill volume back to back months. It's not only that they abuse the power that they have, it's also that the staff blatantly steals medication. To think that medications like alprazolam are being stolen by the STAFF and still nothing is being done about it? It is icredible that this pharmacy is still operating. I am also in the field of healthcare and am an affiliate of Cencora (Walgreens pharmacy wholesale drug distributor) and the DEA. EVERY time I have gone to this store I've had a problem. They have denied my insurance. They have made me wait 45 mins for medication that was called in the day before. They have not called for a drug on a Friday which caused my husband to be in excruciating pain over a weekend. Today I tried to make a return for something that was purchased at a Walgreens in Ocean County. I had the receipt. I was willing to accept store credit. The manager told me they couldn't accept the return because the item wasn't in their inventory. WHAT?? This is a NATIONAL chain! Am I supposed to drive 70 miles to return it to that store??? This is at least the fourth time that my prescription has been unnecessarily delayed due to their complete lack of coordination and overall incompetence. Their automated refill service will always state a time that has little to do with reality. I have even waited extra days as a courtesy so as not to rush them, but unfortunately, the result has been the same. Today, they claimed that my refill request did not go through. I made sure I called on a weekday to give them plenty of time to process it. I tried picking it up on a Sunday, three days AFTER the system promised it would be ready. They insisted it had not even been entered--an embarrassing excuse given the telephone confirmation. When I inquired WHY their automated service was so inept, they changed the subject and claimed I had no refills--something that can be easily taken care of as my doctor has been authorizing the same prescription for years. The fact is, that's beside the point; they still could not explain why their refill system is utterly useless. I will have to reconsider going to this business. When alleged professionals cannot even get a few basic logistics straight, it's not worth the trouble. Helpful in the store but the pharmacy has twice made mistakes. First replaced a generic with a much more expensive without checking with me. Just now I left 3 prescriptions for eye drops requesting 1 bottle of each. I ended up with 2 bottles each of 2 of the drops, nothing of the third, and a bottle of a pain med that I had never requested (Rx had been phoned in 10 days ago and I didn't need or want it). While I was here earlier this evening I was met with aggressive, unfriendly and uncomfortable customer service. I came in to send a family member money and met an stocker that seems to wanna help me more than the other customers. Extremely rude and unhelpful employees in the photo department. The first girl I talked to didn't even bother to greet me as I approached counter. Then her boss came over and attempted to try to help another customer when I was clearly first in line. Then he proceeds to tell me my photo book is not ready to be picked up, when I received an email confirmation that it was at this location. I have had an issue with the availability of a prescription from the manufacturer for my son and they do everything in their power to assure I get it when I need it. I realized I needed a prescription refilled on a Sunday and was traveling out of the country on Monday. Not only that, I needed the doctor to approve of the refill first! I called it in, but figured I wouldn't get it in time before I had to leave for the airport. I got a call at 9am on Monday that my prescription was ready! He immediately called my insurance company to get an authorization for an override for the previous generic that worked well and told me he'd have it ready now. Came here straight from the docs office to get my Rx. Made me wait forever and come to find out they were out of stock on the meds I was looking for. They said they would call me to let me know when it arrived. No calls came after 2 days so I called them instead; they said it was in but they have not received pricing from my insurance company (whatever that means)...so I asked if anyone is following thru so I can get these meds that I needed two days ago; they said they will make a call. Am glad this Walgreens is NOT located near the train station which is too crowded. The last thing Cranford Center needs is more pedestrian and car traffick. A great location where it is. Clean and has drive-through access which can be tedious at times. read more
