This review is for the pharmacy-any other business I have been to stays open until at least the closing clock time. I was at the counter at 9:00pm sharp according to my phone, and the head pharmacist said according to her wall clock it was 9:01pm so I could not be served. The other pharmacists were very available and ready to help me until she told them not to. I am not pleased, extremely inconvenienced, and will not be using this pharmacy location again. Customer service is important and the head pharmacist in charge should consider that when making judgement calls. read more

Friendliest walgreens I've ever been to and although its always packed the line moves very quickly.

Despite the aisles being super skinny, I was able to navigate the store alright & find what I needed. The folks that work here are also very helpful. The cashier saw that I was looking for something, so he offered to split a pack of lighters to sell me one - great customer service. read more

This place is great if you want to spend an hour in line on your thirty minute lunch break...

They had a lot of things, but not the thing I came for, which was a pillow. I knew it was a long shot, though. Also, employees didn't seem particularly friendly and people kept on cutting in line, and the employees didnt mind. But it is very conveniently located. read more

Walgreens is always nice to get those last-minute or forgotten items. However, I understand that being "in the city" has an inflation of prices, but the prices for general items here are higher than one needs to pay for. But if you need it, you need it. Likewise, their travel-size toiletries boasts a terribly small selection. read more

Good location in the heart of Miracle Mile. Convenient location for me, just 1 block from my hotel. Had everything I needed and they have this shopping baskets that turn into pull-carts that make it easier when shopping for a case of water. Customer service was exceptional during each of my visits they directed me to the correct aisles I needed. My only gripe is the teenagers that loiter in front and on entrance way. read more

This Walgreens is one of the better ones in Chicago. It has a great selection of fresh food, snacks, hygiene goods, medicine, and a full service pharmacy. The employees are nice and even when the line is LONG, the cashiers will not make you wait longer than a few minutes read more

This is about Walgreens as a whole. This is a monopoly. They own Duane Reede and bought drugstore.com pharmacy. They need to be stopped. I used to get my scripts here. Forget about getting brand name anything! Even if your doctor insists. They feel they know better than him. Of course they make no money on brand name drugs, but tons on generics. Do not get auto refill. They send it every three weeks ( the soonest they can bill your insurance company). They would sneak in other fraudulent charges that I disputed with my credit card and won. Choose anybody but them. read more

The location is awesome, right smack dab in the heart of the Magnificent Mile. The staff are friendly, through they need to stay more focus on their customer rather than chat among themselves. Any and everything I need is right their. Love it! read more

The staff at the pharmacy (not the actual pharmacists) have no clue what they're doing. One mans badge says he's worked there since 2007, yet he doesn't know how to update my new insurance card?? That process literally took 36 mins!!!! Not filling my Rx there ever again. read more

Don't go here to pick up photos. That is not a priority at this store, they go so far as to hide the button that pages employees to the photo department. This particular location is a glorified 7-11 which does not offer customer service or normal assistance. I hate to be the type of person to post a negative review over 1 issue but 30 minutes to pick up photos will do that to a person. read more

Not sure the name of the lady, but she was over by the photo area.... It's my late mothers birthday and every year we send her off some balloons. I just needed some plain ol balloons. I bought a pack and some ribbon, and she filled them with helium and tied them up for me. Thank you dirt making such a hard day for me, a little bit easier. It was very special. Thank you! read more

UPDATE: Nothing was done after reaching out to Walgreens Corporate. I was told that I'd receive a phone call and have not gotten anything. I'm highly disappointed. read more

If you need your prescription refilled, do NOT go here. The pharmacy staff are the most difficult people. It seems like they try everything in their power not to help you. I had an emergency and needed my prescription right away. I was in excruciating pain and they would not call my insurance to get it authorized. It was their responsibility to call but they kept telling me that my doctor or I needed to call. This was not the case, they just didn't want to do it. Their job is to help people. sick people. And they treat people with impatience and attitude. The only reason I went to this walgreens was for the convenient location, but if you can avoid them I would say go to ANY other walgreens. I have never had this problem at a cvs. read more

Do not patronize this story early in the morning when you are on your way to work. Chicago's biggest employer is next door and starts work at 7am. The result is the store is packed between 6 and 7 with people doing their daily shopping - and there is only one cashier. read more

Horrid. Full of tourists and long lines. Limited selection and particularly lazy, surly staff (this is even accounting for the general low standards of CVS and Walgreens). 20 minute wait to fill a waiting perscription due to understaffing. The Galter Walgreens is staffed by professionals and is much better. read more

Amber was EXTREMELY helpful! Helped us find exactly what we were looking for, was patient when we took forever to decide what we wanted. And also had such a sense of humor and simply enjoyed her job which I LOVED! I can totally see her as the MANAGER of Walgreens someday! Thank you for hiring people who simply CARE! read more

My girl and I just got into Chicago this evening to celebrate NYE. We wanted to get some champagne (sparkling wine) for a midnight toast. All of the local wine stores, markets and even Trader Joes were already closed at 8pm. We were informed that the only thing open in the neighborhood that would sell champagne, was Walgreens. We thought "oh crap, there can't be anything good there." We walked from the Drake a few blocks south and found that that in fact, they had a nice selection of champagnes (Moet & Chandon) & sparkling wines. I saw the warm Moet on a shelf up front. I asked a nearby employee if they had it cold. A moment later, my girlfriend walked up with a nice Napa Brut for about 22 bucks. Just then the employee showed up with the cold Moet for $55. We stayed with the Brut and then noticed the long line. It actually moved thru very quickly and we were out there in minutes read more

They have everything you need to live, 24 x 7 x 365. Gets a little crowded with tourists during a weekend afternoon, so time your visit accordingly. I do miss the old liquor department, but that's a very small complaint. read more

Just bad. Crowded. Everyone is just rude. Cashiers don't talk but instead sing along the music on the radio. Pharmacy is the worst. Rude and not helpful at all. Always a wait. Just bad. Don't make it your preferred pharmacy, rather walk a few blocks to go to a different location to a) not be upset with yourself every time you come here and b) it might be a few min farther but it still will be faster than waiting around here. read more

conveniently location but can be a bit more expensive compared to jewel, dominicks, etc... i guess have to pay for convenience.. hmmm.. generally, ok... should watch out for their offers... read more
