The absolute worst Walgreens Pharmacy I've ever experienced. Everyone I've encountered at the pharmacy has been extremely rude, including the people I've interacted with on the phone (been hung up on numerous times). They're incredibly inconsiderate of your time, move extremely slow when stopping in for what is supposed to be a quick pick up. Just ridiculous. The main reason I switched to a different location though is because I felt when I would call to refill things, they would restate my name and the prescriptions I'd be picking up, out loud! Seems like a big no-no, an invasion of privacy and against HIPAA regulations as they are standing in front of other customers in the store basically giving away all of your information, address, name, etc. Unbelievably unprofessional, thus I will never return to this location. read more

There is a pharmacist there named Keith. Keith is not a friendly guy. Keith likes to watch you burn with rage as he tells you to wait for your prescription while he is (checking his porn, email, yelp acct?) and taking his sweeeeeeet time getting your prescription. If you are dying of the flu, there is no mercy. If you have a crying baby with you, there is no mercy. If you smile and ask nicely there is no mercy. Not sure if Keith has ever had a good day in his life; and he seems to enjoy taking that out on customers. I wonder if after dealing with Keith, a customer ever upped his dosage on prozac....something to think about.... I only go here if I am in a masochistic kinda mood or if I am truly desperate. Oh, I have to end on a positive note: Walgreens has GREAT coupons, and the parking is free! (if you don't mind being hit up by at least 2 bums on your way in.) read more

The pharmacy at this location is a downright disaster. Always long wait times, 9/10 times they screw things up (copays, providing the wrong prescription, etc), and good luck trying to get a pharmacist over the phone. You will wait on hold 10 minutes only to have the call dropped. Every time I have been in there (at least 10 times), someone in line has asked for the manager, who does not appear helpful. The Walgreens on Chicago is MUCH better with customer service, but their hours are more limited. read more

Customer service was top notch when I phoned in advance to make sure I could get my prescription here. My insurance doesn't cover my medicine. However, this pharmacy does accept coupons from the goodrx.com website. This coupon saved me over 50%. There is a parking lot attached. Free and convenient parking is a rare convenience in downtown Chicago. They get 4 stars instead of 5 because I called nearly 2 days in advance to make sure my medication would be ready knowing I would be rushed because I am leaving town for a week. When I arrived they told me they couldn't fill the script without prior authorization. Not true... that's only if my insurance was to pay for it which they won't for what I am needing it for. Again, why I called and asked about the coupon. So I had to wait around for an additional time for them to fill my script then wait in line a second time to get my prescription. read more

The only reason I'm giving a second star is because the pharmacy staff has been generally polite and helpful when I come here to pick up my prescriptions twice a month. True, there can be a quite a wait at peak times, but if you go to pick up prescriptions at 5:30 p.m. on a Monday, you're going to wait. The reason for the low rating? The cashiers up front are complete fucking morons. I live nearby so there's barely a week that goes by that I'm not in here once or twice. The cashiers are so interested in chit-chatting with one another, they don't pay attention to what they're doing and do their fucking jobs right. One tried to ring me up for a bag when I already had a bag, and then he had the nerve to chastise me and say, "Well, you should have told me!" No shit you say? I fucking did. I told him, "I did, but you were too busy flirting with your co-worker." Oh, I don't know, maybe greet and make eye contact with your customer instead of trying to get in your fellow cashier's pants. This ain't Tinder, asshole. Sorry, I wasn't aware that, as a customer, I have to remind you to pay attention to me and do your goddamn job. Oh, if only this had happened once. Today I was being checked out by a completely different male cashier when I noticed he wasn't paying attention, so I held up my reusable shopping bag and said, "I have a bag, and I think I have some points to use." Well shit, I shouldn't have confused him with two separate concepts, because he rang me up and didn't even check to see if I had points to use. Surely, I did, so I reminded him. Again. So he did his thing with the register and allowed me to take my $5 off, and then I noticed I've been charged for the goddamn bag and given a brand new bag, despite the fact that my reusable bag was LYING ON THE COUNTER IN FRONT OF HIM. I don't think at any point he made eye contact with me or even looked down at the counter. Oh yes, I'm one of these people that is going to make you do your job on principle. I'm sorry, I'm a little bit sick of paying property taxes, sweetened beverage taxes, bag taxes, 11% sales taxes, just fucking stop, Chicago. If I make a point to go to my fucking hall closet to get a reusable shopping bag, don't charge me for a goddamn shopping bag. He was already helping another customer after I realized he surely had rung up a bag, so I popped over to the next to open register, and this twunt had the nerve to smirk as I asked her to please reverse the charge. "Something funny?" But she was too chicken to respond to that. And of course she did it the laziest way possible and gave me $0.07 in change. Come the fuck on. It's 2017. I don't carry cash, and I certainly don't carry change. What am I, homeless person? You take the money off my debit card, you should put it back on my debit card. Apparently asking her or her co-worker to do their jobs properly is only worthy of derision and smirking, not good customer service. Really Walgreens? Fuck you. I'm normally a fan of Walgreens and prefer them to CVS, however this location is a complete joke. The pharmacy is filled with apathetic staff that seem to need to "verify" every script a doctor sends. I've never seen so many "prior authorizations" required or a pharmacy that is continually out of stock on common pharmaceuticals. If you're fortunate to avoid those pitfalls, it will take them a minimum of 2 hours to fill a bottle with pills. In addition to the pharmacy, the front door is always bombarded with pigeons and panhandlers, not to mention the parking lot, which often has shady characters smoking outside their car for hours at a time (guessing they've got their own little pharmaceuticals for sale). I have been going to this Walgreen's pharmacy for over two years now and to be completely frank, I was shocked to see the many negative comments made on here.. I suppose this is why: this is a 24hr pharmacy located in the downtown heart of the third most populous city in this country. Yes, if you try to pick up a prescription right after work during rush hour of *course* there will be a wait. That said, there have been many times, if not most, where there's only one person ahead of me. My advice? Be strategic! Download the Walgreens app and request prescription refills ahead of time, call at a low-volume time of day if you need to have a lengthy conversation, and don't wait until the last second to pick up your medications. Things take time, especially something as controlled as the pharmaceutical industry. After all, this is a 24hr convenience store.. not a personal valet for your happy pills. As for the customer service, I have no idea who this elusive "Keith" fella is, but I *can* say that every interaction I've had with both pharmacists and management has been pleasant. They have been more reliable and understanding to me than even my psychiatrist's office. Considering all the absolute malarkey they have to put up with on a daily basis, I'd say they're doing a swell job. Go team! read more

This pharmacy is an absolute JOKE. Twice I've gone to pick up a prescription after standing in the long lines they always have only to need it refilled because they CAN'T FIND IT? Isn't that something that would need to be reported? Pharmacy always has long lines, I constantly get texts that a prescription isn't ready and is "delayed" to view online that it's waiting on doctor authorization when I dropped off a written prescription. Not sure why all the hate for this Walgreens, my wife and I found it nearly indispensable during our six day trip to Chicago. We were in there pretty much every day while in the city (it was steps from our hotel) and picked up everything from beer to nail polish remover to snacks to an HDMI cable (!!). If we didn't have and needed it, Walgreens was there to rescue us. Sure the prices aren't fantastic but it's basically a convenience store. What do you expect? As for the level of customer service, we had no complaints whatsoever. In fact, I'd say it was above average if anything. One night an employee helped my wife find a corkscrew (we forgot ours and the one the hotel gave us was useless). The fellow was not only super helpful but he remembered us the next day (after only seeing us once) and made sure to go out of his way to give us a friendly 'hello'. The rest of the staff was just fine as well. So again, glad we had it nearby and if we stay at the same place next time, I actually look forward to going to Walgreens on a daily basis...I sort of miss it! read more

I would love to give this place 0 stars but that isn't possible! I have already spent 45 minutes in the line at the drive thru and still waiting! If I would have gone in it would have taken just as long if not longer! This is not something that rarely happens this is something that happens at this location ALL of the time. I don't know if they are desperately understaffed or they are just the slowest people in the world but it is ridiculous how slow they are all of the time! There is no way it should take me over an hour just to pick Up a prescription! I have a 4 yr old in the car and she is starting to make us both crazy and I am getting more angry by the minute! This Walgreens is right smack dab in the middle of a bunch of hotels, so you may get some tourist action here. It's OK - there's a lot of tourist junk they are selling in here and it's not the prettiest Walgreens, either. I am not a fan of the layout. Across the street from the coolest McDonalds I have ever been to in my life! Other than that, its Walgreens, not my favorite and I am a much bigger fan of CVS. Their card selection was weak and the place has a rundown feel. Much like the Walgreens in Alexandria it is not laid out very well and feels like it is cramped and crowded and they tried to shove too much stuff into a smaller space. Only one person in front of us in line to check out, but it took FOREVER. Walgreens needs to follow CVS's example and invest in self checkout. This place gets a big old MEH from me. read more

Went into get some Gatorade. The selection was minimal and not stocked. This did not only include the selection of cold beverages, but also items through out the store. The staff in addition in addition was talking about customers who previously checked out, in addition they were standing around. This just happened and I feel real bad for the kids that just got there car towed. I was parked in front of their car while my wife was in the Walgreens picking up medication. Some guy in a black jacket knocks on my window to ask me to move my car from my spot so they can tow the car in front of me. I was not ok with this and asked why. That's when a very angry man in the tow truck started to get aggressive and yelling at me to move my car. I asked the guy in the black jacket why they were towing a car that seemed legally parked. He said they didn't go into the Walgreens. I reluctantly moved my car and wish I hadn't. Within a minute they towed this car. Then I saw the guy in the black jacket get back in a car he had parked in the corner. He was keeping watch and have not idea who he worked for. As we we were pulling away, they poor young guy comes back to see his car gone and we told him what happened. That's when suspiciously the guy in the parked car left. Waited in line at this pharmacy for 25 minutes, needing medication tonite after an after hours doctor visit- medication was prescribed for a serious issue. When finally it was my turn learned the pharmacist would not fill my prescription tonite and I would have to wait till 9am tomorrow. Thank you for for the misrepresentation. read more

Drive thru service is TERRIBLE. Waiting in my car for 30 minutes for a simple pick up. Tried to tell me that there was no prescription under the name when I dropped off the prescription 40 minutes prior. Something that was suppose to be ready in "20 minutes" was clearly too much for them to handle. Never coming back to this location again. read more

This is a big, clean, well-stocked Walgreens. I am only reviewing this particular one to highlight the service. There was a pharmacist at this Walgreens who took a great amount of time to come out from behind the counter to help me with an over-the-counter item I needed and to explain what it was I really needed and why. She was really nice and she didn't need to help me with this, but she did, and I was impressed. Am I wrong or is there like 10% unemployment in this country? I am sure the nice folks at Walgreen's could find some motivated and friendly workers to replace the grumps they have working there now. No one makes eye contact with you, almost like they are trying to avoid having to acknowledge you and, god forbid, help. I was waiting at photo for 5 minutes with no help in sight. A rare nice fellow at check out saw me and called for assistance in photo twice. The manager actually walked out of the back, looked me in the eye, and went about his business. I stood there dumbfounded, then walked over and asked if he could help me with photo. He said sure, like he'd never seen me before. I actually said to him "why did you ignore me before?" And he claimed to have not seen me. Well, you're a manager at a retail store, be vigilant and on the look out for customers in need. If he did in fact miss the announcement by the cashier AND not see me though he looked me in the eye, he has no business as a manager in a retail establishment I'd say. I confess I got snarky. There weren't many people in the store. A couple shopping, 2 at check out, and me. So I said to the manager "Gosh, what happens when you're actually busy? Does anyone get service at all?" He had no answer for that, and I don't blame him. Not proud of my behavior, but it was the final straw at this particular Walgreen's. Of course they still get my business from time to time. It's the closest drug store to my office and often I have to go for convenience sake. It's one of very few drugstores downtown with its own parking lot, so I'm sure it does quite well regardless of service. read more

Visited since my mom needed to buy some bleach for a small emergency. We found this Walgreens on the walk back to our hotel. It is pretty much like many Walgreens you will find; has the essentials that you will need. But, man, overpriced. My mom's bleach was over $3 for one of the small bottles. What a ripoff. When I commented on the price at checkout, even the cashier agreed that the price was too much and suggested that it was better to go to Walmart. 3 stars due to convenience and having what you needed. The customer service is awful... i tried to purchase pictures for my passport and waited about 30 mins.... and when I came the pictures weren't still ready.... When they were finally ready the lady did not cut the pictures as they were suppose to... i told her that I needed them cut and she replied that the machine wasn't working... i told her that I can't take them if they weren't cut properly and she said "ok"... I didn't catch the lady's name but she was African American and pregnant I think. she wasted my time and they manager was next to her and did not even try to apologize.... i am never coming back to this place again... so disappointed read more

The customer service at this place was so terrible that I literally got a headache. If there was a way to give it less than one star, I definitely would. Around Black Friday, both CVS and Walgreens ran promotions where you could get certain promotional items for "free" in that if the item is $2, you get $2 back in store coupon form. Simple enough, right? No. Not here. Here the printer running out of ink/paper meant they needed to use a new register; they didn't know their chain's coupon policy; somehow the guy thought $18 worth of coupons was worth 3,000 Walgreens points (it's closer to 18,000); and between two cashiers, it took forever for them to figure things out. At this point, a sensible store like Mariano's would've put customer service first, and done what they could to make things right, so that other customers wouldn't be kept waiting. Instead, here they tried to follow Walgreens policy to the letter, except they didn't know what it was, wouldn't override anything, and tried to do the checkout based on a system of trial and error! Argh! Why participate in a promotion if the employees have no idea how it works! And this was the second week of the promotion! Surely I wasn't the only one coming in who tried to use it! Worst of all, I couldn't ask for the manager-on-duty, because I think he was the one who knew less than the initial cashier. Avoid, avoid, avoid! read more

This is the most unprofessional store I have EVER seen. I went to this Walgreens because there is parking and it is near my health club. I went in to buy dunkin doughnuts coffee because it was on sale. There was no original dunkin doughnuts coffee on the shelf so I asked the manager if she could see if they had any in the back which sometimes they do! She said oh no there is none without even looking. I said could you check and she said well it's going to take a little time because we only have one cashier. The line was snaking around with probably 25 people waiting. Finally 2 other cashiers appeared they BOTH WERE ON BREAK HOW DUMB IS THAT!!!!!! I waited for 15 minutes and saw the manager at the back of the store chatting it up with another employee. When I asked her was there any coffee in the back she said no and she said I just bumped into that employee and he asked me a question. I don't believe that! When I said I was waiting 15 minutes she said well I told you it was going to be a wait!!!! No apology. Why didn't she assist the line as a cashier??????? Many people left without buying their items out of frustration. It gets worse. I asked for a raincheck and she couldn't find the slips of paper. I left in disgust and she sarcastically yelled "enjoy the rest of your night!" She is not well trained and needs some training. She's probably a nice person but definitely needs some assistance to be a better manager. read more

The pharmacy at this Walgreens is reprehensible. I live around the corner and have been using it for two years now. I would rather deal with ANY other pharmacy than this one. Whenever I call, they do not answer the phone. When my physician calls, they do not answer the phone. When my insurance company calls, they do not answer the phone. When another Walgreens pharmacy calls, they do not answer the phone. It is nearly impossible to get ahold of them unless you visit the pharmacy counter in person. Then, every time (without fail) I do visit the pharmacy counter in person, the line is long and moves extremely slowly because there is not enough staff to keep up with the line. On top of that, they are rude and incompetent; they always just refer me to my insurance company (who are very helpful and pleasant, by the way). GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!!
