    Latte Hot

I came here to do some homework before I had to go to class and it was super cute! I got an almond milk latte and a vegan banana bread, both were really good! The staff were really friendly and welcoming. This is a good place to hang out with friends or get some work done!

We got a Caramel roll which was delicious! I have tried their sandwiches as well and they don't miss. I've been here quite a few times now and this was my go to cafe for a good matcha however I was quite disappointed this last time as the matcha wasn't as rich as I remembered it being. The service is good. Easy to order. Staff is friendly and helpful. They have good amount of seating inside. They have long tables for big groups, tables for 2, couches, etc.

I'm so glad this is my local coffee shop. There's something really special about a place that not only serves great drinks but also feels like part of the community. They offer a wide variety of treats and beverages, and the care they put into everything shows. Nathan rang us up and was incredibly friendly--he took the time to chat and even recommended a few of his favorite items. We ended up trying their tiramisu special, and it was light, flavorful, and absolutely hit the spot. One of my favorite details? They make their own simple syrups, and you can definitely taste the difference. Nathan also mentioned that many of their baked goods come from local bakers, which I love. It's the kind of place that supports its community--and makes you want to keep coming back. Check out their merch on the way out. I purchased an awesome T-shirt created by a local artist.

This has been me and my bf's spot for Sunday morning coffee for over a year now. We love everything about this place. The baristas are always so nice, the drinks are great, and the handmade sandwiches + caramel roll are an absolute must have. We also love the jalapeño cheddar roll. There is an indoor fireplace and plenty of cozy seating, and in the warmer months they have a big door they open which is really nice. Of course we try other places every now and then but this is our comfort spot for sure!

Love the bright and airy vibe here! There's plenty of seating and it's spread out enough to be quieter for working or chatting. The WiFi worked great. The coffee menu was pretty basic but their house syrups were delicious-- I loved the lavender latte. Staff was nice and there was street parking around the building.

Super cute café with tasty food. Vibe: Young, hip café, super cute décor, varied seating options Service: The person taking our order was super nice and helpful, food came out fairly quick although for some items the name was called out and for some they were just left on the pick up counter so best to stay by the counter. Food: Really good overall. I had an egg sandwich with siracha mayo and Canadian bacon that was super tasty and not too spicy. Also got a DELICIOUS strawberry banana smoothie (seriously, not your average straw banana smoothie). Also had several bites of my sister's quiche which was EXCELLENT, the crust was SO good. Also got a cookie that was very yummy. I would highly recommend Carma Coffee and would return if in the area again!

Out for a Sunday walk and on the way back decided to stop for a midday coffee. Walked right in, headed to the counter to look at the menu, and received a warm greeting from a gentleman by the name of Nathan. Very nice and friendly, and really makes you feel welcomed. While exploring the different options on the menu, my eyes immediately noticed the tiramisu cold brew and knew I had to try it. While waiting for our beverages, I was browsing the pastries and such, Nathan shared some of items are made in house and some are from local bakeries. I think that is so amazing. A local business supporting a local business... everyone is winning here. Love it. I was not hungry for any food, but next time I stop in, I'd love to try the jalapeño cheddar roll. This coffee shop is a nice bright stop with lots of natural light. I love how spacious this coffee shop is. Perfect for conversation, reading, crafts, and games. When I walked in, I noticed a book shelf with some games- spotted Sequence game right away (yay!). I also noticed some outdoor seating near the side entrance. There's a parking lot across the street and street parking out front and on the side of the building. My friend lives very near here, so I'm sure I'll be back sometime in the near future.

Very cute coffee shop, their chai and London fogs were great as was the cheddar jalapeño scone. The staff were very friendly. It is street parking which can be a little hard to find but worth a visit

5 stars! One of the nicest things that happened to me (so far) in 2024 was at Carma Coffee on New Year's Day. My cousin was visiting from out-of-town and we grabbed some BBQ a block away at Market BBQ. Afterwards, we were in the mood for some strong coffee so we took off at around 4:00 to hunt for some hot java on January 1st. Slim chance, right? We drove in circles around NE and we couldn't find anything. About half an hour later we found ourselves back to where we started, standing at the front door of Carma Coffee. They HAD been open...but...they closed over 4 hours earlier. Bummer. So near yet so far. We could see 2 guys inside, the owner and some sort contractor working on a project. The owner actually came to the front door, he invited us in, he introduced himself, he made us some coffee, and he tried to give it to us for free. But we paid and I gave him extra money for being such an awesome dude. He was super friendly and he showed us around so I could take some pics for Yelp. Did I mention that they also have other kinds of beverages, pastries, smoothies, and a big selection of sandwiches? I like this place. It almost makes me wish that I still lived in Nordeast Minneapolis. It's great to encounter such a nice, generous, warm person on a snowy, cold, New Year's Day. What a great way to start off the year. Thanks, Carma Coffee! -Maxx

The quiche was extremely creamy and cooked to perfection! From the outside looked like a simply piece, but had a ton of flavor. I enjoyed my Iced Chai Latte because it was not too sweat and had a delicious coffee profile. Good amount of seating for a small shop. Staff was friendly and made great suggestions for both food and drinks.

Build your own breakfast sandwich, caramel pecan roll, iced vanilla latte
    Amanda P.

I'm obsessed. Originally came here for a takeaway latte and it was so delicious we had to come back to check out the vibe and we were not disappointed. The iced vanilla latte is absolutely delicious. I believe I heard someone saying they make their own syrups. My friends also had the hot and cold mochas and a chai - all delicious. We also shared a caramel roll - OMG, I need all of the rolls all of the time. One of the best I've ever had. Ever. The build your own breakfast sandwich was good, as was the turkey lunch sandwich, spicy breakfast sandwich and the monster cookies (flourless!) - and now I got a cinnamon roll as takeaway to try something new! (Mostly because the caramel rolls were sold out today!) The service was friendly, accommodating and inclusive. The vibe is very Portland-esque which is lovely as I miss the PDX culture. I'll be back (probably more often than I'll ever admit!)

I've been coming to Carma coffee for the last 5 years now and it is my all time FAV coffee spot! Not only is the coffee amazing but they have amazing breakfast and lunch and yes they have gluten free options! My go to is just a plain oat milk latte and a gluten free veggie delight and it's always so freaking delish and not only that but the staff is AMAZING. So kind, welcoming and warm.

    Carma Tonic

Fun and friendly cafe at the top of the Northwest Arts District. The last however many cafes I've been to give me the strangest looks when I ask for espresso tonic. Here it's a featured summer menu item with a burst of citrus and a more floral-forward espresso that works best for this recipe. I also tried one of their molasses cookies with cream cheese frosting which was an indulgent and nostalgic treat. The cafe is artfully decorated with recycled car parts as furniture and there's plenty of room throughout. Oh and the music is amazing! Sonic Youth, Mazzy Star, the Velvet Underground and other classic tunes.

Their focaccia has a fluffy interior and lightly crispy exterior, and the toasted sesame seeds on it add a nice layer to the flavor. The eggs are perfectly fluffy, and the cheese is perfectly gooey and melty. It is, in my opinion, one of the best breakfast sandwiches in the cities. I also think the hash browns are THE best hash browns you can buy. They're house-made, with the potatoes grated more finely than your typical hash brown. Cozy Hmong-American restaurant with French-influenced pastries? Count me in! I literally updated my destination to this restaurant while in the uber and decided to grab a bit of food before heading to my hotel. I had no reservation, but arriving a little after 1 pm on a Monday had no wait for a bar seat. It's such a cozy, homey restaurant with light wood, light brick, natural light, few plants inside and a very casual patio with picnic tables outside. I could see this place being a tough reservation during peak times. I hadn't eaten all day and was extremely hungry. I opted for the king crab omelette with red curry beurre blanc. I got a side of sticky rice to make it slightly heartier since I was so hungry and got some pastries to go, since I was in a bit of a time crunch to make it to my hotel and take some work calls. Service was incredibly friendly and fast. My server really did Minneapolis proud, chatted with me about my trip, gave me other great goodie recommendations to fill out my dining for the week, and overall really made the visit special. The crab omelette was unreal. Simultaneously fresh, light, but with a hint of kick and richness from the red curry beurre blanc. Excellent flavor combo. I got the crab Rangoon danish and the coconut pandas croissant to go and ate them for breakfast the next day and they were still so light and fresh with unreal flavor combos.
