My family and I visited Wakyoto when we were craving Okonomiyaki in Branson. Unfortunately, wakyoto didn't have that and so my dad ordered a lunch box and I ordered the spicy (shin) ramen with pork dumplings. We also ordered spring rolls and 6 pieces of gyoza. The lunch box was particularly good. The salad was on point, the sushi was amazing and the shrimp was good although the soy sauce was a bit too strong. The ramen was slightly disappointing. The gyoza pieces that come with it were good and the soup was good but the noodles honestly tasted like Top Ramen noodles. And the quantity of the soup was disappointing. The spring rolls were okay and the gyoza was really good. I definitely recommend getting sushi, gyoza pieces and the lunch box. (Also the green tea ice cream really just tastes like regular ice cream, it just has a slight aftertaste.) read more

This is my second time eating here and won't be my last. Last time my husband and I came together for our anniversary. We ordered one of the sushi boats. We ate it ALL and we were so full and happy. It was delicious and just such a special time. Today, I brought my seventeen year old daughter. She will be leaving a review below. We each ordered lunch boxes. I had the teriyaki chicken. It was the best teriyaki chicken I have ever had. The food was all excellent quality and delicious. Care goes into every detail from the perfectly chopped salad to the dessert. This place is GREAT! I'm from Dallas, TX and I have made my way here 4-5 times in the last 3 years. The owner is a really friendly Phillipino lady named Emma, and she will try her best to accommodate you. She talks to every guest like they are her friend and it does make a difference. She has been so nice to us every visit that we decided to visit twice in 3 days. We usually order the dinner boxes and it is great value! You get a soup, salad, 2 choices of protein, rice, edamame, and fruit for a decent price. This trip we decided to try out their appetizers and their love boat. The owner gave us extra soups and salads for free with our order just so everyone had their own. The agadashi tofu and the fried shrimp tempura were excellent starters and were great for 4 ppl to share. The sushi boat we got was the B version and we loved it. It comes with 3 sushi rolls and lots of sashimi. It's a great portion size to feed 4 along with our appetizers. The presentation is beautiful and I really like the variety. I visited WaKyoto with a group of 12. We went on a Saturday evening around 7:30p. We were able to get in without a wait which is really surprising considering how good the food and service were. The sushi rolls ranged an average from about $8.00-$15.00 with a few of the higher end ones being more. I am not sure about the prices of the other dishes as I'm more of the sushi roll type. They also serve other Japanese food for those who are not interested in sushi and it was also reasonably priced. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. I will definitely be coming back when I visit friends and family in the Branson area again! I would recommend the Viking, Vegas Roll, The Raw Roll, 911 and/or the Pimp My Roll. I am a huge sushi fan, and this place has earned my seal of approval. From the outside, it might not look like much, but it is awesome inside. The vibe was incredible and the sushi was even better. This was the first Sushi place I tried in Branson and I loved it. Especially the white Alaskan something roll. It is topped with white fish that melts in your mouth like butter. Tonight is Christmas and felt like sushi. Decided to go to Wak yoto from reading the reviews and I must say I really enjoyed the California Roll and Jalapeño Bomb! For starter was the salad with Ginger dressing, good and Miso soup, more flavorful than most. Hubs decided to wait until he got his rice and put the rice in his soup to make it more substantial. Hubs ordered the Ribeye Steak and Shrimp, said the steak was good but the shrimp were over cooked while his veggies were under cooked. Soybeans were just that and the orange garnish was very flavorful. Next visit I will stick to ordering only sushi and hubs steak. read more

We visited here on a Sunday night. The interior is a little dark and could use a little facelift, but that's the last thing that will be on your mind once you sit down. The staff was friendly and prompt with everything, which is so refreshing! But the sushi itself was possibly the best we've had since moving to Missouri 3 years ago. Red snapper is my husband's favorite, but it's usually a little too "fishy" for my taste. But this was AMAZING. And the super white tuna? I could have eaten my weight it it. Loved the quiet atmosphere and soft music. Attentive and friendly servers were very helpful. Although not a big sushi fan, tried the Branson roll, which was very good. The cucumber salad was also good. Big disappointment was the shrimp tempura, which was an odd combination of house battered vegetables (mostly sweet potato) and frozen fried breaded shrimp that had no relationship to tempura that I've ever had. Had to peel off the wildly excessive breading to get at an identifiable shrimp. If they had only dipped fresh shrimp in the batter used for the vegetables, all would have been fine.
