Hello All, i want to say this place is a cool, trendy place in Brookfield, WI. I was warned right from the start that it would be a little wait as they just opened 2 weeks ago and not quite prepared for how busy they were. I worked and was seated in the front window bar area. They wait was a little but not ridiculous. The server came and took my order and the order took 45 minutes. Holy slow. I do hope they get it fixed. The. My breakfast came it was really good. I do want to try more. But like i said! The wait i felt like I would not be back. But as my server laid my food down she said the owner is comping my meal. That tells me one thng! I had been seeing the coming soon signs up in this store front in the Corners of Brookfield for a while so I was eager to visit them on their first day for breakfast. Nice bright environment inside and they offer outdoor seating as well. Started with a Mimosa that was made well, didn't skimp on the champagne but not overly strong either. Coffee was good although the cup was very small and I was afraid I would need constant refills but my server also brought a carafe for me to refill as needed. A good variety of items in the menu made it difficult to pick an entree however I went with the Classic Benedict and I couldn't resist ordering something called a Daisy Cake as a side. The Benedict was a bit unique as the ham was shred (pulled) and it was piled on, the egg was perfectly cooked for a Benedict, and the Hollandaise had a nice light lemon flavor and an appropriate amount was layered on. My only suggestion would be to toast the English muffin a bit more as it needed a little more structure. The Daisy Cake was just outstanding. If I wasn't going to be able to finish eating everything, I was going to finish that cake. Think of a pancake on steroids that's a little more dense than a pancake with honey butter and maple sauce on top, it was amazing. I highly recommend stopping in and having a meal here. I'm trying the Pastrami Hash and another Daisy Cake on my next visit. They also give you the option of ordering online and paying your bill by scanning a QR code on the table. It was around 9 a.m., right after my yoga class, and the café was completely empty inside, yet they wouldn't let me choose a table. I asked twice if it would be okay to sit somewhere else, and the answer was, "No, we have reservations," even though the place was completely empty. Wildly disappointing. 4 eggs at our table order sunny side up and not a drop of runny yoke to be found. Eggs were destroyed, my potato's in my pastrami hash were uncooked and had an awkward consistency. My wife's steak and eggs seemed okay aside from the eggs. She didn't get a steak knife and my toast was too black to enjoy. Atmosphere seemed nice and the place had a good vibe but not sure I will be back. Been there twice in recent weeks and both times have been disappointed in the service. Drinks weren't refilled...didn't even have an offer of refills. Food was OK--but nothing standout. A beef with alot of restaurants--seating guests to follow the rotation of the server, not the comfort of the guest. I don't want to be at a small table between 2 occupied tables when the place is only 25% full. Lotsa room in the restaurant but the server was next up and this was his table. Had reservation for 1:30 Sunday August 9. We also ate 1:30 Mothers Day. I dont like the fact that we sat and were eating as the restaurant is being cleaned and closed. Service was so slow. On the last visit we sat for a half hour as our server forgot to bring our coffee and hot tea. IT WAS NOT BUSY. Food came even later. We sat at the last table as the staff cleaned the restaurant. These are the rudest people I've ever run across. The restaurant next-door was filled with diners so when I came out with my sandwich, the tables at waking Daisy were completely empty. It must speak something to their food quality, but I took a table. This is my new favorite late breakfast spot. Cool cocktails. The food is all scratch made and many dishes like their smoked salmon eggs Benedict are classics with an upgrade. Love the creative garnishes like a bit of caviar, some pickled onions judiciously placed, or micro greens. They currently close at 3 but SOON they will be open for dinner on Fri/Sat. I was there for an event and found the staff competent, friendly and getting the job done! Try the braised beef for dinner over mashed potatoes. Better than grandmas. The beignets were similar to puff pastry bites with a delicious blueberry jam. I tried the eggs, pork belly, Benedict, smashburger, and shrimp scampi. Everything was really top notch. My only complaint was the polenta under the shrimp which was quite stodgy over garlicked (is that a word??) and overcooked. At an event shrimp is not the thing to hold as they go rubbery. But if it was cooked to order I would not be afraid to give that another try. Overall exceptional. Give them a go! We had a great time at Waking Daisy! The menu is interesting and varied, the decor is adorable and the staff was extremely friendly. I really loved my iced latte; great quality. The omelette was another highlight with really great breakfast potatoes and thick-cut multigrain toast on the side. The Breakfast Bowl was also fantastic. Just the right kick of spice and the chorizo beets were fantastic. Love that they have a variety of vegetarian options. Our young kids didn't love the pancake as much as they expected because it was complex and for a more refined palette, so if your kids want a plain pancake, maybe go for the french toast instead. I came here on a Sunday - late morning and fully expected for them to have a long wait but thankfully, that wasn't the case. We were greeted right away by the owner and he was fully transparent in saying they were pretty short staffed and the wait would be between 15-20 min. After a short wait, I was seated with a friend and my 4 year old son. Service was great, food was wonderful and I overall had a great experience. Responding to your response: the first time we were on the online waitlist, came in and let them know we were there, they informed us we would be notified via text when our table was ready. We watched another couple get seated before us, who were clearly ahead of us on the waitlist. I watched the time not move, nor the number of tables ahead of us and then saw another couple come in, they told them there was no wait and seated them, I then came up to the host stand and asked why they were seated ahead of us, and they weren't checking the online waitlist, they apologized and we ate. This last time we literally watched this couple come in, talk to the host and she put "Mike" and his phone number on the waitlist - after we were already waiting and gave our same info to her to be put of the waitlist, since our experience previously with the online waitlist was such a problem, and we didn't want to be on it in the first place, we were willing to just wait there for a table - and they were then called ahead of us. While I can appreciate those mistakes happen, this was not the case Nate. I watched a cook eat a meal and drink and continue to cook with his mouth full chewing outwardly. This was not worth it and will not recommend. I haven't been this disappointed since the season finale of Game of Thrones. We live upstairs at the corners and the kids wanted breakfast in bed. Called 4+ times and was told I was blocked. Weird energy but ok, made the trek downstairs and was greeted by a very angry blonde woman. I was then Accused me of lying and was talked to quite rudely. Thankfully Tai with lovely blue hair was patient and apologetic and we got my over $100 order done. As the blonde Asian woman stormed off, to speak to the owner. He made eye contact with me and shook his head. The only person I will tolerate this type of disrespect from is Pedro Pascal and he would never. FYI I had no problem walking downstairs from the Corners, no problem waiting, was nothing but patient. After the stink face from the owner for no reason I asked poor Tai to cancel my order. Then the blonde woman came up to the register and argued with me about canceling my to go over $100 order. She actually said no. We were looking for a new place to try. Picked this one because of the yelp reviews. Ye gods. The food is absolutely fantastic. Amazing. The smashed potato fingerlings and the french fries were cooked in beef tallow. I had the eggs Benedict and I was expecting a slice of Canadian bacon but what I got was shredded chunks of ham. Food was fantastic. Staff were very friendly. Place was busy. Hot chocolate was more warm than hot. We will definitely be going back. Highly recommended. read more

Restaurant is bright and cheery, what you'd expect for a breakfast/lunch kind of place. Server was menu knowledgeable and attentive. My wife and I each had a daisy cake for lunch. Cakes are large and fluffy but we found them to be dry in texture. We asked for additional syrup because the amount provided was insufficient to properly moisten the cake. $1 upcharge.
