We had our Team27HTX post-race party at Wakefield Crowbar this past Sunday (January 11), and it was such a great experience. They generously hosted our group, gave us the kids' play area and a court to use, and provided plenty of space for a large, family-friendly crowd. There were tons of drink options, the food was easy and delicious for adults and kids, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. They also donated 20% of the proceeds from our group to the Heaven's 27 Foundation, which was incredibly meaningful to us. We came for Tejano night. My first time here but had a good time. The table and dance floor situation where we were was crowded but we all had a good time. Well in the past 6 months CrowBar has changed up their bar and food service...... To start you no longer get a waiter/server to come to your table or group and now have to place drink orders at one of the 3 bars on site which is ok and fine but if you want a special cocktail for the season (Christmas holiday drink list) please make sure you go to the main inside bar as the other two bars do not have it.... Also CrowBar now leases their kitchen out which means you can't even order food at the bar nor the same tab. Needless to say you have to order from the scan code on the dinning tables throughout the bar and that is paid through a separate tab online. If you want more sauces, ketchup, silverware, etc. you have to somehow find a kitchen personnel as the bar has nothing to do with the food now. Crowbar was a great place in my opinion for friend gathering, food, volleyball but overall it's now a headache so tbh they lost my service there. The kitchen food was good but not the best. Smoke wings were ok and the "beef" quesadilla was actually ground beef and not actual steak fajita which isn't specified at all on the menu and of course the beef is an up charge... Crowbar has really impressive me with all the updates to the facility itself. This use to be such a dive bar last time I ventured inside, but now this is a spot to take the family. A friend and I recently decided to venture out to Wakefield Crowbar on a Thursday evening after a rainy day just to get out and about. We were able to find parking in the lot pretty easily as it was still early, but parking became a challenge for others as the night went on. When we entered the bar area, we walked up and decided to order two glasses of wine. I appreciated that unlike many other bars that offer you just a white or a red option... you could actually select the varietal you wanted here. As such, we went with two glasses of pinot grigio. Additionally, we ordered two salads which aren't typically bar food but we were trying to keep it light. The other menu items that came out though (like the burger) definitely looked and smelled fantastic. The bar tenders were friendly and the staff was nice all around. We took our drinks out to the bar area by the volleyball courts so we could socialize a bit more. When our food arrived, I was impressed with the freshness of the ingredients for a bar. The romaine lettuce was fresh and crisp, the onions sharp in flavor from being so ripe, etc. As for the chicken on the salad, it was a bit chewier than I'd like but still good as a protein option. As for the atmosphere... this place is fun! I love that they have volleyball courts, corn hold, pool and more. Every where you look... something is going on. Despite the courts being muddy messes, the volleyball games were still on and it was fun to watch! This is a great place to get out and socialize. I will absolutely revisit. read more

A friend invited me to brunch. I never been, and I loved it! The price was right, and they have specials on mimosas. It was a buffet, all you can eat, who can't turn that down? I posted a photo of the menu, so take a look. They have regulation sized sand volleyball courts that are available for league play, private reservations, and free play! They have corn hole, pool tables and and a couple of video games. They have a full kitchen. Head to the website to learn how to reserve spaces. For food - you can also order for pick up. We were here and I ordered a margarita from inside bar and it was very very bitter. I couldn't even finish it. The bar inside the dance room wasn't opened yet and I was there for some awesome Groups playing that night. I went to the outside bar where Crisia remade my drink and took care of my husband and I the rest of the night and made it perfect! Wakefield Crowbar is a place of social events and overall any social meetings. Of course, it being a bar draws a good crowd every night, but it's also more than the bar; it's also the food, atmosphere, people, etc. The food they serve is pretty good, and the drinks they serve are also pretty good. The service there is pretty good. I haven't had any issues at all in the times I have been to this place. Parking can be tough sometimes, but you will find a spot eventually. A plus for me is that this place is pet-friendly, so you can bring you're pets along for a good time. A lot of the time, people look for bars with a good atmosphere, and this is one of the best places for that, especially during Football games, baseball games, and even basketball games. For me, this place is only 10 minutes away from where I live. This place is one of my favorite spots to visit when I'm with friends. It is significantly better than driving downtown for a fun evening, when I can drive 10 minutes. The activities available (Sand Volleyball, Darts, etc.) are what make this place stand out among others. Another positive for me is the locality of the place, usually when I go up here, I see some people that I know, and it's a good place of connection with others. It's a place where people can come together for a night and have fun; it adds to the livelihood of the neighborhood and adds value to the neighborhood. A story that I always come back to is when a friend of mine and I decided to hang out at this place and play darts. We ended up playing for 4 hours straight because we were just having a good time and enjoying the atmosphere around us. For Wakefield Crowbar, it is a part of the identity of the Oak Forest/Garden Oaks. This place has a sense of uniqueness to the area, and it helps strengthen the community around it. It's also a place of family inclusivity, since it isn't adult-only. Kids are welcome to this place, and there is even a play area for them. But even when it's adults only after 10 PM, the place can be fun to be at. More on that, they host tournaments, and many people participate in sand volleyball tournaments because of how competitive and fun it is for everyone. Ending this review off, I believe that Wakefield Crowbar is a neighborhood hub for many, but also a fun place to see friends from close and far, and an overall enjoyable place. This place shows the inclusiveness, accessibility, versatility, and how deeply rooted it is in the community. In a sense, many can call the Crowbar home, where all walks of life can come together to create memories, grow connections, and build local culture. In the vast city of Houston, TX, which has many establishments to hang out around, this one stands out amongst most, and I am grateful to have experienced it so many times through so many years. read more

Came for the New Year's Day event and would never come back again. We arrived at 10:50 am and they were not ready to take any orders until 11:20 am. We waited over 1.5 hours for food for 6 people. I found myself here to watch some football with some friends. I thought it was just another bar, but it was far from that. Parking wasn't a problem for me, but the lot isn't massive. I've heard about the bar with the volleyball courts, little did I know this was it. It is pretty impressive out there. It makes me want to get into volleyball! Customer service was great from the bartenders to the waitresses as well. Walking in, there is a big bar with plenty of seating. I skipped right past and went to the back area where all the sports was being watched. They have another bar back there. I was in a beer drinking mood and it seems like all the majority of the beer taps are in the big bar area. I liked the variety they provided. I just came from dinner, but my friends really liked the food here. It's a bit far from home, but I really enjoyed watching sports here. There was plenty of screens and the vibes were great. We were visiting H-Town over the weekend and wanted to watch the Alabama football game. We landed on the CrowBar and they didn't disappoint. This place is huge and full of cool outdoor activities. We watched the game with over 50 bama fans in a private viewing area with our own bar and waitress. The wings were very tasty. This place is a vibe. Everyone was extremely nice and friendly. If you are looking for a cool experience and want to watch the Bama game with some Roll Tide fans I highly recommend the CrowBar. I'm sorry let's get a new door guy AND bartender. I walked in and the door guy didn't even acknowledge me and my friend, he was on his phone and proceeded to follow us around the outside bar after realizing he did not check our IDs. If he needed my ID he could've just asked instead of making us feel uncomfortable. We then made it to the inside bar - the bartender was not clear on the reservations or volleyball rental which I would've appreciated all at once when I asked. I decided not rent and enjoy the specials for the night- I asked for the same thing I ordered and apparently the full bar was out of espolon. I'm sorry but I don't know any full bar that runs out of a liquor. I just think she was being rude and lazy and didn't want to serve us. We went here for Father's Day and had a pleasant surprise. Victoria, the bar tender, had great customer service and drinks. The ambiance is fun and is good for families if there is space outside. We had our 14 year old so we enjoyed the outdoor seating. Although it was super bout outside, the covers over the seating made it bearable. My husband and I ordered wings and they weren't the "wingettes" some one may be used to. They were tasty and served hot. Our daughter had the chicken sliders and she said they were "okay." Decent size parking lot, super rustic feel but super high end sand volleyball courts (4) I think outside. The inside is cool as well, and they seem to host like work gatherings or meeting here a lot. I came to this establishment because of a company happy hour event. They had a few drinks on the menu but each drink was drastically different from the others. I got the Wyatt Earp and the pineapple flavor was really strong almost overpowering the alcohol taste. The eggrolls were crunchy but the filling wasn't the best. The boneless wings were my favorite! The outer layer was super crunchy and the chicken was very tender. The ranch really paired well with it. The corn tortillas were soggy and broke easily. The meat also had no flavor and the salsa wasn't helping. The mini corndogs were alright can't really go wrong with them. They had a lot of amenities like a pool table.
