I will say having two kiosks to order from is super helpful when you really just want to scroll through the menu. The coffee and the food are both incredible, super tasty, and I really enjoyed it. The coffee was not overly sweet, the eggs are actually scrambled versus microwaved, incredible. My issue is that if you're there on a busy weekend like I was, a lot of times it is hard to hear when they call out names. They are also not writing the name on every drink. I happen to have the same name as somebody else there with different spellings. If they're not consistent on writing the name on the drink, then it is super easy to end up taking somebody else's. They also do not write what kind of drink it is so God forbid two people have the same exact name and a similar drink, you'll never know who's who's which can cause an issue with allergies. If they were consistent on braiding up names, and the order I probably would have bumped this to five star read more

Whenever I'm in the area, Wake Coffee is one of my first stops and almost always my last stop on the way out. It's been such a welcome addition to the Ambler coffee scene since it opened a few years back. I've been a long time Backyard Beans devotee, but Wake has the better beans and general quality. I've gotten a number of their drinks over the years, but my favorite is still a classic cappuccino with oat milk (they've also got macadamia nut milk as the other vegan/dairy free option). For tea lattes, I would pick their matcha over their chai. They used to have a number of pricier but very tasty specialty lattes for the holidays, but this year (2025) it seems like they've streamlined their menu. The Tall Man got his capp with their peppermint mocha syrup, though, and found it delicious. I got a vanilla steamer as a treat for my little one, and it came with a little cinnamon dusted tree. They've expanded their food options and now have a bunch of pastries (muffins, croissants, etc) as well as hot sandwiches and toasts. I didn't see gluten free baked goods, but they have gluten free bread! The brand they use is quite good (if you like sunflower seeds, which I do), but the slices are on the small side - so when I got the Early Bird breakfast sandwich, the filling was positively spilling over the sides. At least they didn't skimp on that! Adding the garlic aioli made it just that much better. The coffee shop is in a cool little converted auto shop right across the street from the SEPTA train station. They've got a number of small tables and longer shared tables, making for a great place to meet up or grab a morning drink. Some folks do cowork there, but it can get quite crowded on the weekends and holidays. High chairs available for the little ones. There's not much parking in their lot, but there is street parking as well as parking at the train station. I'll be back again and again! read more

We dined in on Sunday for brunch. I ordered a nitro cold brew, and my friend got an espresso with an extra shot. We both had the loaded avocado toast. The presentation of the food was very good, but each dish cost nearly $16, and the total came out to around $45. Pretty pricey for just coffee and toast. I know everything's gotten more expensive, but still--I'm not sure it was worth the price. The coffee had a unique taste, but it wasn't really my favorite. We had the most delightful event right here at Wake Coffee...a fairly large baby shower and the setting could not have been more perfect. First, plenty of nearby parking. So much natural light and easy to decorate, rustic perimeters. Different seating areas, something for everyone. Sadly it rained for us, otherwise additional seating out front. Now on to the coffee & service. Harry was a superb barrister, creating one specialty coffee after another, all with different artwork on the foam. Also, a delicious hibiscus ice tea. He really did not stop for a minute and was pleasant to all. I think there could be a "foam wars" competition here with surrounding barrister artists and see what they turn out. I loved my foam bear but also saw a great wolf. I'm so sorry that I didn't capture all of them. It is such a great idea to re purpose these cute, trendy spaces for parties and gatherings. My cousin swears by this place and honestly....I'M 100% BOUGHT IN! The shop itself is a vibe with tons of outdoor space for the entire family (and fur family) to enjoy. The coffee is absolutely phenomenal. Thinking I need to invest in some of the espresso roast for my weekday brews. I got an iced latte with a pump of the Mexican vanilla and maple syrup and I'm still dreaming about it. J was also impressed with his vanilla chai (that's all he drinks, so he's very particular). The tiny queen finished her entire vanilla milk steamer, too. Like I said, a place for the whole family to enjoy! Missed opportunity not ordering breakfast- the sandwiches look unreal. No menus you have to download their app and the app needs some work. It's a bit confusing to navigate. Once I figured out how to read the descriptions of the items (which is cool because they tell you how many of each one they have left) I thought that 12$ for an egg sandwich with a little bit pricey. I made some special requests on my sandwich and they followed every direction perfect . The food was excellent! Customer service is great to everybody was friendly and helpful. I unexpedetly enountered this coffeee shop on a commute through Flourtown. There are over three coffee shops on the same street so I was curious to know how Wake Coffee would differentiate their offerings. ENVIRONMENT One of the first things I noticed upon walking in was the ample seating areas(see images). For any groups looking to meet this would be a prime location. During my visit there was only one staff member working so my order had to be placed via kiosk. SIPS I ordered a honey latte which was everybit as soothing as the name suggests. I've tried a considerable number of latte's before but the one at Wake Coffee was different in a way that I can't quite describe(secret sauce?) Cute little garage converted into a coffee shop! Went on a Sunday and it was absolutely packed. We both tried a Mex-vanilla latte, which was mixed with cinnamon. Mex-vanilla lattes with oat milk came out to be around $6.50 which is definitely becoming the norm now in terms of pricing but wish it was a littleeee bit more affordable. Coffee was still very good, and the bear latte art was adorable! The inside is a bit loud and can echo if there's a lot of people, but there is outdoor seating for a nice day. Parking space is very limited, so I'd recommend parking on the Main Street and walking or paying for parking at the train station across the street. read more

Joined up with some fellow yelpers for a daytime coffee break/ work catch up. Satisfaction level 5/5! The coffee is roasted on the premises. It's hot. It's fresh. It's not acidic like most roasts. I am a coffee fiend, so for me it was worth the trip. Considering I'll drive to Jersey/NYC for coffee wtf not ambler? Parking is across the street at the --train station! There is serious public transport here. Clean. Easy to board. If you felt compelled to have that "day out of the city" this is a perfect spot. The town is sociable as well. (See *Harry's tavern of blue bell* up the street). The food is very French influenced. Wish I would have had the bread pudding but the ham and cheese croissant (quasso) was plenty! Kyle more than accommodated our minimal refills and it was a self check out so you can not only pay in cash as you go, you can kiosk yourself out. They even have an app to order ahead of specialized request. You're running for the train, consider the app. It gets busy here. All in all, this was one of the better cafes I've been to recently. Wake is a short walk from Ambler's station. Wake is not like a lot of cafes with limited space and dark lighting, it is a large open space with tons of natural light and plenty of outdoor seating for those nice warm days. The ordering process is via a touch screen, and the choices for drinks and a snack are certainly varied enough for a coffee shop. Counter staff is pleasant and my order was up quickly. The prices seem fair for these (early 2024) days of over-inflated everything, with the drink and cinnamon roll totaling just over $10. So, you may be wondering "Why only three stars?" The cinnamon roll was dry and cakey, as opposed to moist and slightly doughy. Granted the moisture content could be a matter of taste, but in my opinion, this was a day old cinnamon roll. When you only order two things, and one is edible, but nothing more, that to me, is not a four star experience. My advice: go for the coffee, and bring a donut or TastyKake along with you. read more

I went to the Wake in Flourtown. Cool little boutique. Woody floors, good tunes at the right volume, a really good vibe. Very good coffee and lots of coffee selections. I got an egg-bacon-cheese on brioche and ordered the egg done over hard. When I picked it up, liquid cheese and yoke squirted all over the table and ran down my arm. It was a total mess to eat. I couldn't eat all of it, it was just such a mess. So, I don't want to put the place down; gooey eggs and cheese are just not my thing. The place is cool and I would tell you to go. Pretty typical modern coffee shop. You have to walk up to the counter and enter your order even if it's a simple black coffee on their screen. If you just say "black coffee, please," they point to the machine. Really gives you that homey feeling. There are a few comfy chairs, à la Starbucks, but mostly it's picnic tables. I go there mostly for informal meetings so all I get is a black coffee. The coffee is OK but expensive. I can't believe I didn't post a review of Wake yet. This definitely is such a gem in Ambler and I love that it's not right on Main Street. Their parking is minimum but there definitely are many spots close by, luckily my mom and I managed to get a spot in the front since we went on a Thursday afternoon. I LOVED the interior of the cafe and how beautiful they make their beverages, the attention to detail is super appreciated. My mom and I both really enjoyed our coffee. Another user complained about their ordering system and honestly I don't see why he's complaining. I didn't know you had to order on the kiosk but the barista informed us if we knew what we wanted we could let him know and he would start preparing it ahead of time. That's awesome and he was there to help us. I'm sure it also is super useful on weekends when it is busy. Now that I know there is a kiosk for ordering I'll be more prepared in the future. The only downer for me with their new ordering system is that I wasn't able to use the discount I acquired through my coffee passport, so I think they should remove themselves from that site. All in all our coffee was amazing, I love their seasonal drinks and I cannot wait to go back and get more coffee and try out their food as well! I normally love going to Wake and look forward to my Friday take out coffee. Today I was less than enthusiastic. Got my coffee and went to add cream and sugar and the cream was extremely curdled. I brought my coffee back to the barista and they consulted with someone in the back about my chunky beverage. When they returned I was told that the cream looked bad because it was not ultra pasteurized and was just separated milk fat. I didn't want to be argumentative so i just threw my coffee out. The barista's service was good, they offered me a replacement coffee but i was just frustrated and left. whoever was in the back made a bad judgement call. I smelled the half & half in the carafe and it wasn't good, regardless of the expiration date printed on the container. read more

I am close to the Flourtown location and have tried to get food there to go several times. They are often out of items. When I've tried other things (like $4.50 muffins), they have been liquid in the center and undercooked. Other substitute items are equally overpriced and not worth it. Today, I tried to call ahead to see what they had available, only to find out that they don't have a working phone number, and you can only text them. So, I did and have not received any response (8 hours ago). My experiences have shown me that they make it very hard to do business with them reliably. And as a customer with choices, I'm not willing to do that. If in Ambler, I'm definitely going to Backyard Beans (much better!) and if in Flourtown, Starbucks. This review is for Wake Coffee on Bethlehem Pike in Flourtown. I agree with other reviews here that the prices for drinks, savories, and sweets are excessive. $12 for an egg sandwich; $4.50 for a small cup of tea, for example. Some might not like the way one places an order -- at a kiosk; I don't mind ordering at the small kiosk; I do mind waiting 15 minutes or more to get to the kiosk with only one or two people ahead in line before the person preparing the drinks informs the customers that their technology isn't working well and it might be better to order from one's phone. One "perk" offered by Wake is if you order the egg sandwich (and perhaps also the quiche), you get a "free" coffee. I don't drink coffee so I asked the server if I could substitute tea. I would have willingly paid the $1-$1.50 difference between the coffee and tea price, but the server said that wasn't an option. The special only applies to coffee, he said. He assured me that I could pay an additional $4.50 for one cup of tea (one teabag) if I preferred tea to coffee, but there was no way they could accommodate my request to sub tea with a small upcharge. When I asked to speak with someone else about this concern, he said there was no one despite the fact that at least one other server (manager?) was present. There's also signage that no outdoor food or drink is permitted but other than a gluten-free roll for the egg sandwich, there are no other gluten-free options for those requiring a GF diet so when I've gone to Wake in the past, I have to sneak in a GF cookie or cracker or bagel. Ridiculous. I like the place and the location but customer service is lacking and customer satisfaction does not seem to be a concern. A few short steps down Bethlehem Pike in the shopping center, one can get a large tea and gluten-free egg bites at the Starbucks in Giant for half the price and served up by a friendly and engaging Elisa. read more

We get 2 lbs of coffee beans delivered through the coffee of the month club subscription from Wake. The coffee beans are freshly roasted every month and the flavors are always delicious. I just had the s'mores latte at the shop and it was great! The markets they have in Sunday's have great small businesses and I bought from several of them today. This is a super cute cafe in Ambler that serves coffee and some good light breakfast that you can get on the go. The inside is just so cute! If it weren't for covid I would probably go every day and hang there all day if I could! I got the bacon egg cheese sandwich which was different than your average breakfast sandwich bc of the hot sauce and the brioche bun. It's a nicer version of a simple bacon egg sandwich and I really loved it! I had a latte with my sandwich and it was the perfect breakfast. Everything is completely interaction free, you walk in and order from a screen and someone makes it and sets your drink on the counter and you pick it up and go about your day. And they crank out drinks, while we were there it looked pretty busy but our drinks came out quickly. There is a parking lot across the street that had free parking (we were there Sunday), I don't believe it's free all the time. There is a indoor and outdoor sitting area to hang out. I got the chai latte, I usually get a dirty chai but couldn't figure out how to add a shot and didn't realize until later I could've ordered it separately and added it myself. Overall I'd give the chai a 3/5 it was okay. We also got a Vietnamese coffee and I give that a 5/5 all the way, it was delicious, I would recommend that drink all day! I came here for the first time today for cold brew and to check out the market outside. It wasn't too crowded when I ordered. I ordered a coconut cold brew after learning its cold brew infused with coconut water- awesome! I had a few people in front of me so I knew it would be a few minutes for my drink so I checked out the market outside. Came back in figuring my drink would be ready. It wasn't. I wandered around a bit more, bought a half gallon of cold brew to bring home. No mention like "your drink will be up soon" or anything.Still no drink ready. I waited about 20 minutes to learn they ran out of cold brew after I paid $6 for one. They offered other options to others and seemed annoyed at me for standing there patiently waiting. Then I see one of the baristas put some ice in a cup, empty what must have been the last of the coconut cold brew, and then try to fill the half full cup with more ice. I'm thinking to myself, as someone who worked for 4 years as a barista myself, oh no don't do that whoever gets that drink is going to be disappointed. Turns out, that was me. She offered to top it off with regular CB which was totally fine with me. I completely understand being annoyed that you ran out of product (I'm sure it's hard to gauge during COVID how much toespecially cold brew on a hot day- things happen! but don't ignore a customer for over 20 minutes and act like it's my fault. Just left a bad feeling after being so excited to try Wake. I'll be back because I'm sure it was an off day and there's more I want to try and hopefully this was just an off day. While I'm personally not a coffee-drinker, I went here with my husband on a leisurely Saturday morning and thoroughly enjoyed my hot chai latte in their charming converted-garage open-air cafe. (He said his latte was well crafted and very good!) I really want to like this place, but every time I visit, I'm underwhelmed. I've had various coffee/espresso drinks and the coffee is just not very good, weak and not particularly flavorful. The reviews that suggest otherwise are either charmed by the fact that it's roasted on-site or have never experienced decent coffee. The breakfast sandwiches are decent but nothing to write home about. The pastries never look that appealing and I'm skeptical they're homemade. And the prices are high (and keep going up).
