I happen to have the same name as somebody else there with different spellings. If they're not consistent on writing the name on the drink, then it is super easy to end up taking somebody else's. They also do not write what kind of drink it is so God forbid two people have the same exact name and a similar drink, you'll never know who's who's which can cause an issue with allergies. You can enter through Dovetail on the right or through the middle door - on the far left is a record shop. It's one big old building. When you enter through dovetail you just head to the left and the counter is right there. When we went they didn't get their pastry delivery which was kind of a bummer because they looked awesome. They have a very simple menu and they serve rival bros coffee which is one of my faves. They only had two specials - usually I love to see a seasonal menu with a few more options, but seeing as this place is pretty small they may not want to overextend. They do have a lot of flavor options so I ordered a latte with maple. There's a few tables in front of the counter the rest are actually in dovetail - you can definitely hang out a bit or shop. It's very unassuming this location but there were a lot of people stopping in - I think most were going to the studio which might be upstairs ? All in all - nice spot- love the nod to Poe!

Walking into the alley where The Lore Cafe was situated was like walking into an old picture book--the alley was dappled in sunlight, with people quietly sitting in the front and birds flitting among the tables. The inside of the store is beautifully curated, think Japandi with wood and green, along with furniture pieces that were clearly chosen with intent. It was Mother's Day, and there was a small basket with free bouquets to choose from, how cute! I'm generally an up-and-go kind of person, but the cafe made me want to sit and people watch for a couple of hours if I could. Matcha latte with oatmilk: nutty, creamy, a little grainy but in a way that created a pleasant mouthfeel. Almond croissant: I saw someone come in and get a giant box of pastries to go, so it must be pretty good right? There was nothing to fault on the croissant, for a coffee shop I'd say it's quite solid. If I lived near Jenkintown this would be the place I invite people to meet at on the weekend, or simply where I go to bring a book and people watch as I have coffee and pastries.
