Avocado toast!

Great little spot in Manayunk. Quick attentive service and the coffee and croissants are amazing! And the avocado toast was exquisite!

Grilled Chicken Panini

This place never disappoints food & drink wise. Seating on the other hand can be hard to find and outlets are even harder to find on the first floor but the second floor has both available so don't give up on this spot if it looks busy. The main chef has been there for years and he knows how to make some amazing food with basic ingredients. You can't go wrong with avocado toast, a breakfast sandwich or any a panini here and I highly recommend adding the salad. The vinaigrette that comes on the side is deeeelicious. My favorite beverage is the London fog. The americano is also good but I need to add milk to cut down on the roastiness. All in all this place is busy for good reason. It's been around for ages and there's plenty of food me beverages to allow you to work, study or read a good book for an extended period of time. Parking is metered on the street but if you park a few blocks up from Main Street you can avoid paying for it. There's also a bathroom available for customers.

This review is only for the space and location. Incredibly large 2 floor space with plenty of tables, outlets and Wi-Fi. Move over Starbucks, this is so much better. Hands down, easily would have been 5 stars. I deducted 1 star for the annoying flies that were swirling around continuously on the 2nd floor. At. Every. Table. It was kind of hilarious yet frustrating to see that all customers were constantly waving their hands to battle these flies away. No surrender lol. It was my first time here. I was speaking to one of the other customers who is a regular. She said that the fly issue is certainly a constant problem. She felt it was because the store must not take care of their garbage well. Her hypothesis. Both of us agreed that on this day, we still choose Volo because you can't beat the space and location.

Love this place! I haven't tried much, as im a creature of habit and am well aware of what I like and very rarely stray from that. What I will say is that I quite love what I do get from here! I love cheese danishes and will get them just about anywhere and this one really stands out to me. I also typically get a vanilla matcha latte and this drink in particular is far better than others i've gotten at different cafes. They are also extremely fast when making your drink. Inside there is decent but limited seating on the first floor, seating outside when it's not raining, and seating upstairs. be warned the seating upstairs is quiet. it's people doing work. for someone who wants to chat and enjoy some conversation over coffee stick to downstairs and outside. Overall great quality drinks and pasteries!

This coffee has a nice indoor space and also an outdoor space (right on the Main St). The service was okay, not rude nor friendly. I ordered decaf iced Americano, and my daughter ordered iced herbal tea - both nicely made.

Pumpkin vanilla oat latte & Volo Toast

After moving to Philly I needed to find a good local coffee shop. The vibes of Volo are immaculate. Their pumpkin latte, volo toast, and bagels are delicious! I love coming to read, study, or just relax.

Upstairs coffee and chocolate croissant

Love the indie coffee shops on Main Street Manayunk. Always pouring out a solid cup of Joe. Frequently busy but usually has ample seating.

Iced Americano and Almond Croissant

I have been going here for YEARS, and the quality is just as great as the day I started going. They have simply the best coffee on Main Street; and there almond croissants are my favorite thing. The staff is beyond incredible. Seriously, I cannot say enough great things about them, they manage to always keep there cool and sling out great drinks when it gets packed! Which is often. You cannot go wrong

Avo toast

Overall very solid. High quality coffee, cortado and lattes don't disappoint. Avocado toast with generous avo and jammy soft boiled egg. Pastries freshly baked. Upstairs is nice and quiet, clean, spacious and a great place to get work done. Need to show COVID card to dine in.

Their challah French toast is something I often think fondly of! They've always been super friendly, and this location may be older but kept clean. I would not just return, but suggest others to stop by in they are visiting the area!

My partner had been to both Murray's Deli and Hymie's Deli in Ardmore. We wanted to have lunch…read moreafter an appointment, so I took a quick look on Yelp, and decided to go to Hymie's. It was packed - only a few tables were available at 12:30 on a Friday afternoon. We were immediately seated and looked over the menu. We decided to share a 1/2 Pastrami sandwich ( you can order 1/2 a sandwich ), 1/2 a Corned Beef sandwich, an order of Potato Latkes and we each had a small bowl of Chicken Matzo Ball soup. The soup was delicious - it was a little bowl with tiny shreds of carrots and chicken. The broth tasted very good, however, the matzo ball was a 'little' different. They were light and fluffy - but there was no texture or flavor at all....none. I would have thought the matzo balls would have absorbed some of the flavor from the soup, but it didn't. I finished the soup, but left the matzo ball. My partner likes pastrami over corned beef - she says it's a more 'peppery' flavor. While I probably prefer corned beef over pastrami because it's a leaner cut, my 'baseline' for pastrami is Katz's (NYC). I'm sure Katz's has great corned beef, but I've only had pastrami there - it's the best I've had. I thought my Corned Beef sandwich was excellent - it was lean, tender and very tasty. I squeeze out a little mound of mustard on my plate and dip. My partner thought her Pastrami sandwich was very good - it was also quite lean. I took a few bites of the pastrami, I thought my corned beef was tastier and had more texture. It almost seemed like they sliced the pastrami too thin. She liked her pastrami more than my corned beef - I suppose it's all a matter of individual taste. The Potato Latkes were delicious - especially with the applesauce! They were a little thicker than I might have preferred, possibly from either potato starch or matzo meal. However, there was a very nice potato taste and the thicker texture was fine. Of course, on the way out I saw a large selection of pasties and had to try a few! I got a few of the Rugelach and a Poppy Hamantash. The Rugelach were a disappointment - the interiors of all were very thick and doughy. I ate some of the exterior layers.....and left the rest. The Poppy Hamantash, on the other hand was one of the best I've had. It was by far the largest one I've ever had! As a result, there wasn't enough Mohn (poppy filling) for such a large pastry! The filling was very good as was the cookie (it was like 1/2 scone and 1/2 cookie)! Overall, Hymie's exceeded my expectations and I'll look forward to returning.

The upcharge is steep (~$4-5 Nov 2025), but the hoagie length is like the size of a forearm! What's better is that they also stuff the sandwiches to the brim, where the filling starts to spill out. The food is delicious. And most of the menu hits when you're craving greasy quick and filling food. Service is quick and timely. Ordering online is nice to build loyalty points and easy to customize orders. But the online fees - credit card & website charge, even when it's directly from their website, are high. I decided to try the Vodka Pesto Rebel sandwich. It took about 15-20 minutes for my food to come out, which was a little longer than I expected considering there was only one other customer ahead of me. When the sandwich finally arrived, I was shocked by how HUGE it was! It genuinely felt like it weighed close to two pounds. The sandwich was absolutely packed with crispy chicken cutlet, which I loved. The inside of the sesame bun was coated with a garlic pesto spread, giving it an almost garlic bread-like flavor. The marinara sauce had a nice tanginess to it, and all the flavors complemented each other really well.
