They have singular stations that allow for some privacy and focus, in addition to their tables and open seating. Prices are competitive, coffee is good, staff is kind. Bonus points for fun swag and the bird motif (Go Birds). Parking is street only, and given this is a popular thoroughway in Roxborough, it could be tricky to find a spot at peak times. However, Flying Sowth came through for me when I needed to take a work call and was stuck in Schuylkill traffic on a Thursday afternoon, and I snagged a spot right out front. A natural subtle sweetness. Also got the cozy campfire latte which came with a cute little ghost made of marshmallow fluff. The owner is so genuine and sweet. And the shop is complete with so many artesanal pots, pottery, and beautiful houseplants. A wide array of flavors. The food is also freshly made. The baked goods are maybe my favorite in Philly. The croissants, s'mores brownie, pumpkin cookies were so fresh and delicious. Nothing I have had here has been a miss. The atmosphere of plants, good food, coffees, and hip Spanish music makes this an amazing spot to be with vibrant positive energy. The prices are so good for the quality of service and food/drink. I ended up getting a medium roasted drip coffee. It was an upgrade of a dollar for a medium. The medium coffee was actually too big for me (seemed like the size of a large). The place doesn't have anywhere to sit on the first floor but if you take the stairs they have an ample sitting room. The upstairs has a bunch of board games, a tv, and another coffee bar space.

They also sell their coffee beans and some other coffee & non coffee related nicknacks. As for my initial review, I'm happy to report my tastebuds have matured and I don't need a million sugary drink options to be satisfied with a coffee shop. Pilgrims does have a larger menu with the option to add flavor to just about anything now but I wouldn't come to pilgrims looking for an elaborate seasonal "designer" latte with toppings. I asked if the matcha was ceremonial grade and the worker gave a vague response that did not answer the question. The matcha was also very bland. I also got one of the cookies, oatmeal raisin. It was pretty "meh". I will say it was huge and only $3, so there's that. The atmosphere also lacked personality.
