Walking into Pilgrims brought back so much nostalgia. It's been a few years since I visited…read moreregularly (as a student & wfh employee) but it's easy to tell not much has changed. Pilgrims is still a solid coffee shop and it's ran by the same smiling face behind the counter. Overall this place has great coffee, pastries and a casual ambiance that's perfect for people to get some work done. They've continued to offer more food & drink options that include prepackaged grab & go snacks like granola bars or chocolate milk. They also sell their coffee beans and some other coffee & non coffee related nicknacks. As for my initial review, I'm happy to report my tastebuds have matured and I don't need a million sugary drink options to be satisfied with a coffee shop. Pilgrims does have a larger menu with the option to add flavor to just about anything now but I wouldn't come to pilgrims looking for an elaborate seasonal "designer" latte with toppings. They might make a seasonal drink but i don't think it'll have as much sugar as some other shops that sell diabetes in a cup

Got it in a diner mug-- love drinking coffee at coffee shops in a mug. It just makes the coffee taste better, and I'm not sure how. This feels like a talking and catching up-priority coffee shop. Tables are a bit smaller, and the chairs not as comfy for long term sitting. However, the wi-fi remains strong, and it was good enough for 2 hours of work. I also had an outlet nearby ready, but didn't end up having to use it today. Coffee is great too! I love places that roast on-house and have their own beans, b/c you know that they care an extra bit more about the quality of their stuff. Will be back!

The staff wasn't rude or anything, but on both occasions I got a "What are you doing here?" vibe that was slightly off-putting. My first visit was picking up an order for Uber Eats and I was told that it was the best pretzel spot in the city, so I just had to try it. I order two everything pretzels, two soft pretzel twists, and two sweet pretzels to share with a group. The order was staples shut and I confirmed the contents before leaving. Unfortunately, there was only one of the two everything pretzels that I had paid for, further dampening my experience. The store front itself is tiny and I tended to grab and go... there's absolutely nothing cute or interesting about it, but I understand that isn't the point. The pretzels were soft and fresh, and I even shared with strangers at the park. Everyone enjoyed them but nobody was wowed. The order was ready on time and the price was right, but my search for the ultimate Philly pretzel experience continues.

I live in Manayunk and this is my first time heading down to their new location here, and I was so excited to pull out my full punch card for a free sandwich. Unbeknownst to me, my $80+ spent on bagel sandwiches is no longer honored, with no explanation or notification online or on socials?? So I was pretty sad... bagel was good but not good enough for lack of rewards in this economy!

We ordered two bagels with cream cheese, super simple. When I got in and squeezed past all the other waiting customers an employee asked me my name. She told me they were out of one of the bagels I ordered and she let me pick what to swap it out for. It then took twenty more minutes of waiting in the restaurant for my two bagels. While waiting I saw almost every other customer order, wait, receive their order, and leave. I watched them scramble for the whole twenty minutes to complete orders, constantly having to ask the poor employee who was packing the orders for help. This then pushed them even further behind every time she had to stop what she was doing to help the others. Finally, I get my bagels and go home. And the order is wrong. I waited thirty minutes for two bagels with cream cheese and both the bagels are not what we asked for. The one I was able to substitute, but the second one they just gave me a plain. I'll be sticking to the Narberth location from here on out. Manayunk NEEDS to hire more employees to fulfill the demand they have. Cutting costs by having a skeleton crew is obviously costing them quality.
