parc is a philly staple, but you don't come here for the food, you come for the vibes. the restaurant is gorgeous and always busy, but the best part is sitting outside to face the rittenhouse square park and people watch. i love coming here on a dilly dally day when the weather is nice, and the complementary bread is always delightful. my favorite is the one cranberry and walnut. overall, the food isn't really anything special, but they do have a solid french onion soup. i've come here countless times for brunch/lunch/afternoon whatever, but nothing has ever hit me as a must order. while the food isn't the highlight, i had to give this iconic spot 5 stars for the experience. i always find myself coming back. read more

One thing about a Stephen Starr restaurant is that it's always going to be consistent. Every experience you have is going to be just like the last, in a good way. Parc is massive with tons of seating inside and outside. Even without a reservation, you won't wait long, plus there is a bar seating. The staff is always incredible, serving multiple tables but still checking in and making sure everything is going well. Their menu is great, and of course the steak frites and and french onion soup are Parc classic. Always a great place to take visitors. read more

Brunch scene was crazy and due to the fact we did Green Eggs and Rouge on the two days over the weekend, I had to drop in Monday morning before I flew outta Philly. Outside didnt seem as welcoming as it did over Sat and Sun so I sat inside. Very French place and looks like you're in France. I wanted to get something quick as I had some places to check out before I flew out so I went with the Croissant Sandwich which was accompanied by a fresh batch of mixed greens. Basic but very good! I can see why it is so popular now, the waitstaff is great, always refilling water and very friendly, also the free basket of bread is unheard of these days and the bread is actually fresh and amazing! PARC WAS IT! From the moment I arrived, everything about this experience exceeded my expectations. My reservation was originally for 9:00 PM, but I was hoping to dine a little earlier. Although nothing was available online, I was encouraged to walk in and, to my surprise, there was a table waiting for me at 7:30 PM. That flexibility was truly appreciated and set the tone for the evening. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and I immediately felt taken care of. I also loved the option of al fresco dining. Located directly across from Rittenhouse Square, the setting is absolutely magnifique. It is the perfect place to enjoy a meal while taking in the scenic view The beverage selection was excellent, with plenty of wines available by both the glass and bottle, as well as a great cocktail menu. The French-inspired menu offered so many tempting choices. I ordered the steak au poivre, and it was succulent. The peppercorn sauce was rich and flavorful, and the accompanying spinach completely surprised me. I'm not usually a big spinach fan, but the subtle citrus notes paired beautifully with the steak and elevated the entire dish. Even the complimentary cranberry bread was a thoughtful touch and a delicious start to the meal. To finish, I had the crème brûlée served with a warm madeleine, which was the perfect ending to an outstanding dinner. A special shoutout to my server, who guided me through the menu and made excellent recommendations. Great service can make a meal memorable, and that was certainly the case here. I definitely thought Parc would be overhyped food-wise and the best part would be the ambiance & views of Rittenhouse - however I was pleasantly surprised! My husband and I were seated at a cozy table inside the restaurant but right on the edge to the outside, facing Rittenhouse Park, and the views and vibes even on a Sunday night were immaculate especially given the warm weather. We shared the tomato tart, ricotta ravioli, and ended with the moelleux au chocolat. First, I have to say the complimentary bread basket was good but not the best I've ever had - the raisin bread was good and the butter was perfectly soft but the baguette felt tough. However the rest of the food was splendid - the tomato tart was flaky, nicely cooked, with creamy goat cheese and juicy tomatoes - really good and would get this again. The ricotta ravioli I had expected to be similar to The Love since both are Starr restaurants but I LOVED this version - super plump ravioli stuffed with creamy ricotta in a proper dousing of tomato sauce & parmesan. So so good! Couldn't decide my favorite of the two savory options. Dessert was perfect - soft, gooey chocolate cake with chocolate crunchies and sweet ice cream - and I would happily order any of the dishes we ate again. I visit Parc each time I am in Philadelphia. I love the location near the square. Seating outside in the warmer months is great for people watching. The atmosphere inside takes you back in time and is classically beautiful. The service is timely and our servers are always helpful and attentive. The Steak Frites is my go to main course. June 2026 update: I recently came back to Parc with a friend from New York who was in town and staying across the square. He is kind and easygoing, but he also has a discerning eye for hospitality, which made me especially glad to bring him somewhere that makes Philadelphia shine and makes me proud to live here. I ordered the moules frites, and it was excellent. The mussels were fresh, tender, and beautifully served in a delicious white wine, garlic, and shallot broth. Paired with Parc's wonderful bread and a side of French fries, it was simple, satisfying, and exactly the kind of meal Parc does so well. If you're going to Parc on a budget or want something a little lighter than a burger or steak frites, this is a terrific option. Went to celebrate a half birthday after having head such great things about this place. Upon walking in with our reservation we were immediately seated in a beautiful area. The ambiance was so nice we were next to these huge beautiful windows. The service was super friendly and nice and quick for how many people there were. The "it" spot in all of Rittenhouse. Great location. Great food. Great for people-watching. The French onion soup is fire. The bread is insanely good. The drinks are always on point. People might be hesitant because it comes off as pretentious and bougie, but honestly, anyone can go. I've seen derelicts. I've seen degenerates. I've seen actors, athletes, and regular Joes. We made a last minute reservation and when we arrived we were lucky to get an outside table facing the park. It was finally nice enough to dine outside. The people watching was great. The service was very good and our server was friendly and on top of things. The bread was delicious. I opted for the trout almondine which was very good especially with all of the butter and roasted almonds. My wife got their salmon with asparagus and it was prepared to her specs of medium rare. Visiting PHL over the weekend and thought we would try out this French Bistro, Parc for Brunch. Being a long weekend, we were not able to make a reservation via OpenTable nor by calling in. Although they were very sweet to let us know that they do take a few walk-ins. After finding parking in a nearby lot, we arrived around 11:00am, to find that the brunch menu was closed and they were now serving lunch. We were seated in about 10 minutes which was great as the restaurant was packed and we didn't have reservations. The place had some light music playing and was quiet but busy. Annie, our wait staff was just awesome ... She was super attentive and her recommendations were spot on. The choices on the lunch & drinks menus were huge. The table bread basket with warm bread that came in shortly after we sat, was just right to kick off this lunch. After having their Cafe Parc, aka Coffee Martini, we had the Soupe L'Oignon, aka French Onion Soup or just Onion Soup. The portion was huge and the flavors were just Fab !!! We proceeded to order a Grilled Chicken Sandwich, again huge portion, Shrimp Salad, very flavorful, a Crab & Avacado, which was tasty and my fav the NY Strip. By this time we were so full, that we skipped dessert. On our way out we saw their Boulangerie that sold Baguettes, Wheat Boules, as well as their Cramalized Onion+Cheese Sourdough bread. That was cool. All in all the experience was just awesome and we so glad that we were able to get to have lunch here. Will definitely look this up again the next time I am in PHL. read more

It shines in the Onion Soup Gratinee w/ broth that has depth when modern versions have moved toward watered down vegan varieties. The Mushroom Tart is a mini "pizza" of filling layers of buttery goodness topped w/ mushrooms & Pecorino that tasted even better on a re-heat at home. Daurade Royal en Papillote (fish baked in parchment, for those skipping high school French) was revealed table-side, intensely seasoned, & did not disappoint. DO NOT SKIP DESSERT. The chocolate is intensely delicious in Moelleux Au Chocolat w/ praline & hazelnut accents, served w/ sugared citrus jellies- Pates de Fruits, that proved more impressive then the main desert! Americans & their French Fries. I was disappointed Steak Frites didn't include hand-cut fries. Not bad, just underwhelming when 2 things are on a pate & half is a frozen product indistinguishable from that served in every eatery in the country. It may be their most popular item, but was hoping for a version more fitting of a French bistro. The atmosphere is lovely despite cramped & uncomfortable seating at a 2-top. Always a go to while in Philadelphia. If you are from the DC area - Le Diplomat is the same restaurant but the vibes of parc and location are overall better. Parc is always so lovely! I've gotten to go twice for brunch on sundays! In door wait was about 20 minutes, and outdoor had no waits at all! The service is lovely. The workers are attentive and kind! I love their bread baskets! There's three type of bread and butter. They said they are made fresh everyday! I could get full off the bread itself, especially the one with the cranberry and nuts! My favorite order is the two eggs any style! I love scrambled but it comes with perfectly crispy and warm and soft potato's, fluffy eggs, and my personal favorite, the pork sausage!! I have been to Le Diplomate in DC, and I had a great time there, so I was excited to try Parc in Philly. We made reservations in advance for 12:30pm, and when I realized we were going to be crazy late (coming from West Philly), I called the restaurant worrying that our reservation would be cancelled. Thankfully, they were so nice and said they would make a note that we would be 30 minutes late and our reservation was safe. When we arrived, I was surprised by how huge the restaurant is. There's a crazy amount of tables inside and outside (the street right outside the restaurant was closed). We dined indoors and were at a large table meant for four even though there were just two of us. Our server was very friendly. We got: - Complimentary bread: 5/5 There was an assortment of three types of bread and all were fluffy and fresh. The butter was soft and spreadable and incredible as well. - Quiche Lorraine: 5/5 This looked small but the quiche slice was actually huge because it was quite tall. It was super filling and I liked the simple dressing on the lettuce. - Moules Frites: 5/5 I love when mussels come in a delicious white wine/garlic sauce and this one was absolutely delicious. I ordered this at Le Diplomate and it was just as good. The fries were also incredible. We loved dipping the bread into the sauce. - Cappuccino: 5/5 no notes here, just a straightforward delicious cappuccino (pretty big size too). I would definitely recommend coming here for brunch.
