One of our favorite dining experiences in the city is grabbing seats at the bar at Parc. Amazing food, wonderful cocktails, and always such a warm, welcoming experience. Tonight we enjoyed a lovely Côtes du Rhône, several Belvedere wet vodka martinis, salmon tartare, seared foie gras, their incredible crab cake, and my favorite steak frites in the city -- followed by milk chocolate pot de crème and an espresso martini for dessert. Location is perfect right across the park and the scene looks like a French street al fresco dining. Food was spectacular starting off with a basket of bread. My only suggestion is they bring out room temperature butter bc the one I got had fridge burn flavor. I started off with a warm shrimp salad - absolutely delish - simple but elevated with lemon beurre sauce and lettuce, a parm shred and roasted tomatoes. I also had the steak frites and it was also very simple but perfect - garlic butter, crispy fries and a perfectly cooked strip steak. My waiter was ok but the real star was the bus boy. Went to Parc on April 5th for breakfast after hearing great things about the place. The ambiance was beautiful, and the food looked promising, but unfortunately, we didn't get to enjoy the experience. There were four of us, along with our 3-month-old grandchild. Shortly after we were seated outside, it started raining. Since our food hadn't even arrived yet, we asked if we could move inside. We were told there were no available tables, but when I went inside, I could clearly see multiple open seats. Despite the rain getting heavier and the wind picking up, we were still expected to remain outside and eat under those conditions. With an infant in the group, that simply wasn't an option. My daughter-in-law had to take the baby home, and we ended up asking for our meals to be packed to go. What was most disappointing was the lack of effort or empathy from the staff. There was no attempt to accommodate us or find a solution, just a sense that it was "up to us" whether to stay and eat in the rain or leave. We spent over $200 and left with a very frustrating experience. The food may have been good, but the service completely ruined it, to the point where we didn't even feel like eating the meal afterward. One of the more memorable places eats in town for me. Everything had a pop: Escargot - so good, savory and the crunchy toast bits were pure perfection! Mussels with Frites - perfect wine sauce and pairs excellent with the fries and bread! Trout - Cooked to the right temp and crusted amandine style. Lovely green beans, too! Visiting PHL over the weekend and thought we would try out this French Bistro, Parc for Brunch. Being a long weekend, we were not able to make a reservation via OpenTable nor by calling in. Although they were very sweet to let us know that they do take a few walk-ins. After finding parking in a nearby lot, we arrived around 11:00am, to find that the brunch menu was closed and they were now serving lunch. We were seated in about 10 minutes which was great as the restaurant was packed and we didn't have reservations. The place had some light music playing and was quiet but busy. Annie, our wait staff was just awesome ... She was super attentive and her recommendations were spot on. The choices on the lunch & drinks menus were huge. The table bread basket with warm bread that came in shortly after we sat, was just right to kick off this lunch. After having their Cafe Parc, aka Coffee Martini, we had the Soupe L'Oignon, aka French Onion Soup or just Onion Soup. The portion was huge and the flavors were just Fab !!! We proceeded to order a Grilled Chicken Sandwich, again huge portion, Shrimp Salad, very flavorful, a Crab & Avacado, which was tasty and my fav the NY Strip. By this time we were so full, that we skipped dessert. On our way out we saw their Boulangerie that sold Baguettes, Wheat Boules, as well as their Cramalized Onion+Cheese Sourdough bread. That was cool. All in all the experience was just awesome and we so glad that we were able to get to have lunch here. Will definitely look this up again the next time I am in PHL. read more

A Parisian-inspired experience w/ barely a caveat. As modern dining moves away from bread, Parc EMPHASIZES theirs w/ a basket of sliced baguette, fruit & nut-studded squares, so memorable the journey could be for the bread alone! It shines in the Onion Soup Gratinee w/ broth that has depth when modern versions have moved toward watered down vegan varieties. The Mushroom Tart is a mini "pizza" of filling layers of buttery goodness topped w/ mushrooms & Pecorino that tasted even better on a re-heat at home. Daurade Royal en Papillote (fish baked in parchment, for those skipping high school French) was revealed table-side, intensely seasoned, & did not disappoint. DO NOT SKIP DESSERT. The chocolate is intensely delicious in Moelleux Au Chocolat w/ praline & hazelnut accents, served w/ sugared citrus jellies- Pates de Fruits, that proved more impressive then the main desert! Americans & their French Fries. I was disappointed Steak Frites didn't include hand-cut fries. Not bad, just underwhelming when 2 things are on a pate & half is a frozen product indistinguishable from that served in every eatery in the country. It may be their most popular item, but was hoping for a version more fitting of a French bistro. The atmosphere is lovely despite cramped & uncomfortable seating at a 2-top. Food could have been better by a basic failure in each dish. Beet salad with goat cheese was about 6 crumbles of cheese, so balance was off-- left a more acidic beet taste. The trout almondine had perfectly browned and crispy almonds, but they hadn't salted the bottom of the fish. Yes the brown butter sauté is great, but basic salt is always a necessity. For Brunch, came with a reservation which is recommended as this is a busy establishment with good turnover. They have a big seating area and it is spread out throughout the restaurant. Management will typically make their way around to check on your experience. Such a warm atmosphere. There's always French and/or classical music playing. Parc is always so lovely! I've gotten to go twice for brunch on sundays! In door wait was about 20 minutes, and outdoor had no waits at all! The service is lovely. The workers are attentive and kind! I love their bread baskets! There's three type of bread and butter. They said they are made fresh everyday! I could get full off the bread itself, especially the one with the cranberry and nuts! My favorite order is the two eggs any style! I love scrambled but it comes with perfectly crispy and warm and soft potato's, fluffy eggs, and my personal favorite, the pork sausage!! I have been to Le Diplomate in DC, and I had a great time there, so I was excited to try Parc in Philly. We made reservations in advance for 12:30pm, and when I realized we were going to be crazy late (coming from West Philly), I called the restaurant worrying that our reservation would be cancelled. Thankfully, they were so nice and said they would make a note that we would be 30 minutes late and our reservation was safe. When we arrived, I was surprised by how huge the restaurant is. There's a crazy amount of tables inside and outside (the street right outside the restaurant was closed). We dined indoors and were at a large table meant for four even though there were just two of us. Our server was very friendly. We got: - Complimentary bread: 5/5 There was an assortment of three types of bread and all were fluffy and fresh. The butter was soft and spreadable and incredible as well. - Quiche Lorraine: 5/5 This looked small but the quiche slice was actually huge because it was quite tall. It was super filling and I liked the simple dressing on the lettuce. - Moules Frites: 5/5 I love when mussels come in a delicious white wine/garlic sauce and this one was absolutely delicious. I ordered this at Le Diplomate and it was just as good. The fries were also incredible. We loved dipping the bread into the sauce. - Cappuccino: 5/5 no notes here, just a straightforward delicious cappuccino (pretty big size too). I would definitely recommend coming here for brunch. If I came back, I would love to try dinner next time, as well as the pastry basket if I came back for brunch. read more

Heard it's the original to DC's Le Diplomat, which is a local favorite for us. So we waited an hour to get a table for sunday brunch. This might have been the best egg white omelette I've ever had in my life. The ratatouille filling was delectable and I couldn't stop shoving it in my face. The tomato salad was also amazing - the citrus seasoning was delightful but the pickled onions really was the star there - I've never had such sour pickled onions before but that tang is unrivaled. Mom-daughter date in Rittenhouse Philly. We were missing Paris while watching a certain show. So I offered to treat my daughter to a nice meal since I'm happy to have her home from college. Le Dirty Martini was great. We also enjoyed their (just plain) onion soup (we laughed that it's not called "French onion soup" while visiting Paris), escargot, steak frites and mushroom tart. We may have over ordered since all the food was so rich lol, but we really enjoyed it. It's beautiful in there, next time I wouldn't mind just hanging out at their bar. Parc is an iconic restaurant in Rittenhouse Square Park. This place is classic and is sometimes in the background of films and famous people are sometimes here. This spot always has people and has an amazing atmosphere. On a Friday, there isn't even happy hour, but the bar was packed. The food is decent. For brunch I didn't love the breakfast items I got as much, but had no complaints as it was a lovely place to sit and people watch. read more
