Visited on a quiet morning to get some work done and, of course, get caffeinated! Street parking is pretty easy to nab in the surrounding area. All the ordering is via self-serve tablet. Folks behind the counter were helpful in getting setup on wi-fi and getting my drinks. Having a mug was a nice touch when staying in the cafe for ~an hour and a half. There's a good variety of seating. One tiny knock is that the counter is just off of the right height. I'd say I have about an average sized torso, but it felt like I was shoulder shrugging if I were to use my computer there. Moved to a table elsewhere and was able to get things done. Mood here is nice for both work and conversations. Wi-fi was struggling a little bit (didn't confirm with a speed test), so probably nothing high-demand can be done here. Come on. This place is cool as hell. They have an amazing selection of coffee. This stuff is super unique and it makes you feel like you really are in a special place. I'm blanking on the name, but my wife and I loved it there espresso tonic that had a bunch of other cool ingredients in it. Wow! And the barista reminds me of an old school speakeasy bartender. They have excellent breakfast sandwiches. The coffee is also decent--I keep going back for the amaretto latte but they have quite a selection The space itself is quite neat and vast so plenty of room to work in peace or socialize. It is also quite easy to find street parking around here. read more

The BYO breakfast sandwich is an over priced joke! I ordered a sandwich with sourdough bread, cheese, bacon and 1 egg. The sandwich was one piece of Artesian bread cut in half the portion size couldn't fill a child. So, along with 7.00 cup of tea and tip it was nearly 25.00 and I would have still been hungry. I returned the sandwich and kept the tea. Not returning. A better choice is Kismet on Main Street. Did I mention that all the contents of the sandwich are a la cart. I'm aware things are more expensive these days but this outrageous pricing. Not cool. What's more a few of the employees need more refined customer service skills especially since tips are requested when ordering. read more

2 words...Matcha latte!!! Tried their matcha latte today and it was soo yummy. I love that it taste close to a ceremonial grade matcha and they actually whisk it, unlike some other coffee shops that use a concentrate or a pre-sweetened powder. The latte comes unsweetened (how I like it) and you have your choice of adding syrups and choosing from different milk options. This is definitely one of my new favorite places to get a good matcha latte. I've also tried their espresso-based drinks and cold brew. The espresso is on the more lighter side so I wouldn't say it is my favorite but still good. Cold brew is pretty standard. They also sell some pastries and a lot of scones lol They also have a lot of espresso tonics, which i haven't tried yet but definitely will one day. You order from a kiosk for everything but all the baristas are still really kind and helpful. It's a big cafe with ample seating. I love that there is a community fridge as well and Narcan sprays. It's amazing that they seem to focus on hiring people in recovery and/or returning from incarceration. We definitely need more places like that. Unity Java, bravo! read more

I've been three times now and I absolutely love their breakfast biscuit sandwich! So flaky! One of the times the center of my sausage was still slightly cold and they very quickly offered to make a new one, reheated it, apologizing for any inconvenience. Great service, great breakfast! read more

What a cute, clean, and friendly place for breakfast, coffee, or just a snack. There's even a community fridge that you can use if needed or donate to. The food was pretty good. I had a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit which was buttery smooth and quite tasty. You have a lot of options for customization if you want. I also had a vanilla cake pop that was okay. I didn't really like the sprinkles, but the cake was good. I wouldn't get the lemonade again. It tasted watered down and not much like anything. But the friendly, quick staff and welcoming, clean environment definitely makes up for it. If you're in the area and you want a breakfast sandwich, definitely stop by. read more

We stopped in for caffeinated beverages (a Mocha and a Latte) and a gluten free breakfast option. The atmosphere was clean and friendly. My wife got a gluten full croissant which she described as super flaky (really good). I got gluten free oatmeal which was fine, but not spectacular. There could have been more gluten free options, but knowledge and labeling is a great start. They had lots of alcohol free elixirs, but we didn't try any this time. Been going to Unity since moving to Manayunk about two years ago. It's become our go-to spot. The breakfast sandwiches are delicious (I like the biscuit, my girlfriend likes the croissant roll). I've never gotten a bad latte, and they have some fun seasonal flavors. Also, it's a great organization, so you can buy local while also supporting a good cause! I've run into either the owner or someone involved in the organization and you could tell he was super passionate about their cause. read more

First off- the coffee and service was phenomenal. We were greeted cheerfully when we came in. I got a double shot of espresso, long, and as soon as it came out, the barista who made it asked me if it was long enough, and told me they could remake it if it wasn't. However, it was perfect!! It was also made perfectly, you could taste all of the flavor notes of the excellent coffee it was made with. Secondly, this is a wonderful place of love. I'll never forget going here and the amazing mission this place has. I'll be back next time i'm in philly. Highly recommend! read more

I am so glad to have such a nice local coffee shop in the area. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The ordering system is easy to use. I usually get an iced coffee drink and it is made just the way I want it. The place also has a great mission and has a community fridge for folks that might need. Typical hipster coffee shop. $8 for a cup of coffee + tip. Empty shop (unsurprisingly) and not one person behind that counter acknowledged my presence. I pushed buttons on a kiosk and then someone handed me a coffee and didn't say a word. Please close your shop now. You are not selling anything new. And your coffee reflects your employees attitudes.
