Well, well... where do I begin? I've had their vanilla latte once before and slurped it down in about 10 seconds. Very, very... very delicious. I have also tried a specialty matcha which was very funky (in a good way) and left me eager to try more. Today I got their breakfast burrito and a current special for the winter: the candy cane nitro latte. Strap in. I looked at my latte and opened up my takeout box. Could it be a mirage? Am I lost somewhere, out in a desert... alone? Thankfully, no. Well, yes, I am alone, but I confirmed this was real life. I pinched myself to check. Staring back at me was a prepossessing arrangement of breakfast provisions-- all mine. I started my experience with the side salad. In a blink of an eye it was gone. DELICIOUS. The dressing was so good and the pickled onions.. just wow. Next I went into my breakfast burrito. At this point, I've started praying to God because he clearly had my back today by guiding me towards this burrito. The side of hot sauce balances perfectly, just the right amount of spice and such good flavor I'd drink it. Straight up. I don't have enough words to describe this experience. I succumbed to the tunnel vision I had developed and devoured every bite-- satisfying my deepest desires-- the perfect balance of scrambled eggs, cheddar, pork-roll, bacon, sausage, and rippers. Wake seasoning blend saved me. I fell into a complete state of monomania; I turned off my music, my tv, put my phone away-- and just lived. Me and my breakfast burrito. Total bliss. Originally I intended on drinking my latte alongside my burrito and salad like a normal person. I became a bit preoccupied with my meal, but it's okay, because it left me a delightful treat for the finale! This coffee was made with love and I could feel it. My first sip, I thought I heard the bells of Santa's reindeer. It truly is the holiday season. Thank you Lia for putting your all into this latte. NEVER stop being you. From my three experiences trying Wake's drinks, I can attest that their homemade syrups are made with you (yes, YOU) in mind. It's not too sweet. You can taste the coffee. You can taste the milk. You couldn't ask for more if you tried. Final Remarks The staff is extremely friendly. I ran into one of the owners and he was very charismatic. A trustworthy and dedicated team is clearly working behind the counter and behind those kitchen doors to ensure you get an experience that will last you a lifetime. Boy, was that the case for me. The BEST breakfast I have ever had. Hands down. We were coming back from Atlantic City until we stumbled across this hidden gem just five minutes off the exit of Belmar. Coming in, we had no expectations. The aesthetic of this place is BEAUTIFUL. Vibrant colors, and more of a retro feel. Our server was the sweetest, talking to us and making sure we were having a good time. Place was super clean! Now, onto the food, I can not recommend it more. We came about two weeks ago and if we didn't live so far, we would come all the time. Their rippers are FANTASTIC, a signature potato they serve with their breakfast, accompanied with one of their sauces as well. They were so perfectly crisp, not greasy, and so flavorful. We ordered a simple breakfast, but it was cooked PERFECTLY. The dressing on the greens was delicious, and those rippers again, OMG! I definitely can not wait to come back here again in the summer. I've been really looking forward to coming here and trying it. I first found out about them at a coffee convention an it was one of the best coffees I've ever had I went back and got another one. I picked up breakfast today and a shaken espresso. The pancakes were great. I really liked the honey butter flavor. I got a side of bacon and it had some parts that were fatty that I just couldn't do. And the coffee .. the part I was looking most forward to- I think they forgot to put the cinnamon syrup in because there was no flavor. I have never had Shakshouka before, nor heard of it. My new favorite food. This was immaculately flavorful. That minestrone was such a homey soup. All the food had such eclectic variety in the flavor and ingredients. That was my favorite matcha I've drank too. Page, the one who made it and served us did a wonderful job on the drinks. Wake Coffee + Kitchen is consistently delicious. I'm a creature of habit and bounce between a couple of menu items. I would say my favorite is the veggie omelette. I absolutely love that you get a little salad with breakfast. And the potatoes....a.k.a. rippers, are so yummy. I'm typically not a fancy coffee drinker, so I usually just get the regular house drip coffee and it is outstanding. I love this spot, and I love that it has such a community feeling each time I go. The owners are fantastic people and always very friendly. The workers are attentive and fit the vibe very well. Awesome experience. The food was delicious! I got the special, Shukshuka, which was so hearty and flavorful. I had breakfast at Wake this morning and it's my new favorite spot. The space has a calm coastal feel and is very visually appealing. Next for the coffee. I had a cold brew with a lil milk. So good and flavorful-- excellently delicious! Nice caffeine levels too. Then the food. I ordered the egg platter with a side of bacon and a wake cake. The platter comes with a small mixed greens salad, potatoes and sourdough toast. All SO GOOD. The bacon was thick and juicy. The pancake was yummy and filling but not heavy at all.
