    Karadynamite Roll

BEST SUSHI in BATON ROUGE! Seriously, best sushi and the nicest family that run it. I've been coming to Wakka House for over 10 years - it's so good I even get it to go when I drive from Houston to back home. Karadynamite Roll, Hayden Roll, Spicy Tuna roll, Mango Tempura roll, the fried rice (large portions!), and Wasabi Shrimp - to die for!!

I love sushi and I have to say this has been one of the best sushi I have had in a while. I admit I was a bit skeptical about trying this place out, but I was having dinner with an old friend. She loves sushi, so the best friend and I let her pick a place for dinner. We opted for somewhere close with sushi. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing when we stepped in. They weren't so busy to the point where we couldn't get a seat. We were immediately asked about what we wanted to drink and given time to peruse the menu. The green tea I ordered came out in an interesting tea pot. Not your everyday type of teapot! There is such a vast amount of sushi to choose from! I put in my seaweed salad and my two friends decide what rolls to pick. I'm am easy person and eat just about anything. I just requested some snow crab be in it also. The presentation for everything was quite lovely. What you noticed is that they stand all the sushi side by side like a wall. It's different from the usual places I've had that just lay the sushi down. Everything was impeccable to my palette. The roll I enjoyed most was the Happy Valentine roll. It was almost like a dessert roll and is a bit weird during your first try. It basically had fruits with cream cheese and I believe maybe a shrimp inside. I can't really recall, but there was interesting sauce poured over it. For dessert we had the mochi dessert. We asked if it was fresh, but the waitress admitted it's frozen and they take it out when ready to serve. It melted in your mouth like ice cream! With the exception of the green tea one. The outside kind of broke down in your mouth into small hard pieces instead of melting into a soft texture. The mango and strawberry were my favorite flavors. Definitely if you're a sushi lover give this place a try and don't forget to get the Happy Valentine roll if you're a dessert person. And if you have room for dessert order the mochi dish for the table to eat.

I haven't been to their other location, but if its as good as the one on Highland, than I would be suggesting it too. This place is delicious. The sushi is on the border of being too pricey for me (a college student) to really afford; however, it is only on the border. They have a huge variety of very tasty sushi and they have a few Japanese dishes in addition. Their seaweed salad was great. Free refills on the drinks! (always a good thing.)

Dumpling combo A! Pork dumplings and crunchy rolls with a side order of miso soup!

This restaurant is very lowkey. It was my first experience here. The woman working up front was so kind and helpful! The food is amazing and very affordable!

Have been here several times and the sushi is always good. They're presentation is really gorgeous. The dumplings are always a treat. The plum tea is excellent when they have it. My favorite roll is the Mango Shrimp Roll. I always end my meal with it

I'm always hesitant trying sushi from places that I've never been to but this place was good. The service was good also.

I highly recommend this place. The Hadden Roll is the best thing I've ever put in my mouth! The Highland rd location is very nice and roomy!

Enjoyed my visit here for happy hour. We ordered the Rib Stack, Hot Honey Wings, Veggie Fried Rice,…read moreHot Honey Chicken Bao Bun, and Crispy Fish Bao Bun. Overall, everything was good. The standout for me was the veggie fried rice. It had great flavor, and I'd honestly come back for that alone. The Snake Wrangler drink was also a favorite. The only downside was the hot honey. It was very light on both the wings and the bao bun, so the flavor didn't come through as much as expected. Service was efficient and attentive. It's a nice, quaint spot with a cozy patio and indoor seating. Still a solid happy hour option, and I'd definitely return.

Started with hot sake and crispy pig ears. Perfection as always. I tried the new moon fire…read moredumplings...no steam or heat coming from them upon arrival. Try one and they are stone cold but good flavor. I asked Courtney the server if they were meant to be served room temperature (first time having so wasn't Sure). She takes the whole bowl. A nice little bit later my bowl is returned just as my tikka masala queso Is arriving. From the looks of my bowl and the broth it was nuked. Heated in the microwave which was annoying bc I wanted to try these fresh for the first time and also more importantly I ordered them with intentions of eating 2 now and taking the other 3 to go so I could enjoy my queso there. Dumplings can't and shouldn't reheated multiple times over and especially not even once at the restaurant that's serving them. I was honestly just hoping they would have dropped a fresh hot spoon or two of the broth : sauce they were in. Very upsetting for the evening because I was excited to try something new
