Shrimp Tempura and Sushi combo dinner bento
Raegan D.

As always I had an amazing dinner here tonight! I tried a new roll, Spicy Girl Roll, and it was delicious! Can't wait to come back next week.

Fried Pork Gyoza Dumplings

My wife and I both really love Wahada. We go fairly often and there is always one server there who is amazing! The gyoza dumplings and all their rolls are delicious. We aren't huge fans of the Yaki Udon but it's just not our thing. If you're looking for a quiet, lowkey, great sushi place - give Wahada a shot!

Philadelphia roll & crunchy roll

Paid $20 for two Philadelphia and 1 crunchy roll literally tastes like sushi from the store it's cold doesn't taste fresh and there spicy mayo sucks they only get two stars because they had good service but is the worse sushi I ever had oak point is better then this.

Egg rolls

I placed a phone order. The person on the other end was nice and considerate. The egg rolls were the best I've had in a minute from a restaurant. I will definitely go again for them. The New Orleans roll on the other band was good but would have been great without the flying fish roe. I've never had it before so it's partly my fault. They barely had flavor but it was a texture problem for me. They were a bobba consistency but crunchier. The "special sweet sauce" was good but definitely can be used as a side sauce instead of on the roll. The roll itself had a lil kick to it that I loved I will definitely return again to try something else or to try the New Orleans roll again without the flying fish roe.

Tried this place out because multiple people recommended it to me! I think it was really good and the staff was really nice. The crunchy roll was honestly sooo good. The food did take a bit long but it was good food so I can't complain! It was a good aura for friends to come out to eat for a bite!

I've ordered food as takeout from here a couple times and have enjoyed it each time. The sushi is tasty and they prepare the food pretty fast. The menu is pretty expansive as well. I had the tiger roll which has crawfish, tuna, salmon, avocado, and eel. It fulfilled my sushi craving for sure. They packaged my meal with the typical wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce which I always like. I've experienced good customer service with each visit as well. This restaurant is hidden in plain sight and I encourage you to stop by and give your taste buds a little treat.

Sushi rolls. Excellent.

Best Yellowtail and Tuna I've had in a long time, super fresh, perfect temperature & texture! Rolls were epic as well. 5 stars!!!

Totally underwhelmed. I had high hopes for this restaurant. The prices are quite good. I ordered the egg rolls and they were mushy and not tasty. I ordered sashimi and they gave me 2 gratis pieces of kani which is pet peeve of mine. KANI IS NOT SASHIMI. Add to the sashimi, it was bland. It wasn't old, just super bland.

Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box with Ginger Salad Dressing

Wahada is a Japanese restaurant that is located on Nicholson near Brightside. This restaurant is my go-to for good sushi and good food for a moderate price. You can get a bento box that is really filling for around 10 dollars. You can get a big plate of fried rice for 7 dollars. You can get some ramen or some other noodles for 7-10 dollars. I think the price for these specific items are pretty worth it for the quality of the food that you get. The service is really good as well. The waiter or waitress are usually really nice and accommodating. They would bring you the food relatively quickly, and they would refill your drink pretty quickly as well. They also have worked hard to make sure that the area is clear and that the customers are well and happy. The food is really good. I always enjoy it. The taste of everything is very well seasoned and very hearty. The ramen soup is hot and has a deep flavor to it. The fried rice always has the burn of the pan on it which gives it a umami taste. The sushi always tastes fresh and packs a nice taste with it. The ginger and wasabi is pretty fresh and adds even more flavor to the sushi. I think this sushi place does a lot to provide the customer with quality food at a decent price. I would definitely recommend coming here, but I might be biased as I go here a lot.

Do yourself a favor and GO TO WAHADA! I have gone here probably over 50 times throughout college. It is literally so good, and the prices are great for us college kids or anyone on a budget! Some of my favorite rolls include the brandi, sarah, giant, tiger, rainbow, crunchy, and the rock n roll! There are so many good ones to choose from. My go-to order is the crunchy roll (to save a little money) with an order of chicken and veggie fried rice with extra eel sauce on the side. I highly recommend this little family-owned restaurant. The people are always very friendly, and their food is amazing for the price!

Amanda Roll

This evening I decided to try Wahada for the first time. I've lived 2 minutes from Wahada for 4 years now but I've never been brought to try it. I've heard mixed reviews, mostly good, but I always go for my regular places like Umami, Ichiban, Rock n Sake, which is why I've never tried. Let's just say I'm super glad I finally tried it! I ordered the Amanda Roll and the Salmon Avocado Roll. The Amanda Roll was huge and phenomenal. The Salmon Avocado Roll was delicious as well and pretty fresh and decently sized. Both rolls together were $21. That's a good deal when many special rolls from restaurants in BR are that alone or more. I love my regular sushi places, but this was cheap AND good! I ordered my sushi on the phone and it was ready within ten minutes and the worker was very friendly and it was a smooth process. I ordered take out and realized when I went in that it didn't seem like a place to sit down/that many people sit down to eat. There were tables, but it was dimly lit and completely empty. I probably wouldn't sit down to eat, but I'd def go back for some good take out sushi! If you want a quick, easy, and delicious sushi option for dinner, definitely try this place out!

Pan-fried Pork Dumplings

What the actual heck? This food is so bad. I really don't understand how it has 4.5 stars. They must've purchased those good reviews. I ordered the pork gyoza dumplings and the teriyaki chicken entree. The gyoza dumplings were alright. I've had much better from other places. The teriyaki chicken was the worst. I don't even understand how this passes FDA standards. It looks like they just drizzled sauce over unseasoned chicken. It is so unsatisfactory. The chicken reminds me of the skin from examination bodies they use in science labs to show you the skin and fat tissue. This must be how people in medieval times ate. I think the only good thing was the rice and the sweet tea. So bad.

Tuna sashimi, California roll, snow crab roll

Wow! I can't believe I have lived within 2 miles of this place for years and never went. The first time I tried it I just got takeout, but then went back a few days later when some friends and I wanted to go out for sushi. The rolls are good- they have everything from a simple California roll to fully loaded specialty rolls. I had a California roll, spicy tuna roll, snow crab roll, and a crunchy roll between the two visits and enjoyed all of them, though my favorite was the crunchy roll. I also loved their snow crab salad. The best thing about this place was the price! The rolls are quite cheap and you get a lot of food for the money. Even the specialty rolls weren't super expensive. I want to go back for lunch to try one of the bento box specials. Overall, great spot to eat a bunch of sushi without breaking the bank!

Had good sushi and nigiri for very reasonable prices. Could be a little cleaner but the service was great. Will definitely be back.

She came across as short, unfriendly, and overall not very pleasant. I first ordered a Banana Foster's Martini, but she came back and said they didn't have the ingredients. No problem--I asked for an Espresso Martini instead. A few minutes later, after bringing everyone else's drinks, she returned and simply said they couldn't make that either and asked if I wanted something else. At that point, I just declined. When it was time to order, our table had nine people. She took my husband's order, then went around the table taking everyone else's order. By the time she got back to me, she said, "Okay, is that it?" I had to remind her that she hadn't taken my order yet. I ordered the crab and corn bisque, a salad, and the stuffed catfish with creamed spinach. The salad came out quickly and was very good. Then everyone else at the table received their meals while I only received my bisque. After waiting, I was told my stuffed catfish "didn't come out right" and had to be remade. At that point, I honestly wondered if it was a joke. It wasn't. By the time my entrée arrived, everyone else was nearly finished eating. To the restaurant's credit, they did remove the stuffed catfish from my bill, and I appreciated that. However, the entire experience left me feeling overlooked from start to finish. My biggest suggestion would be for our waitress to work on her customer service. A smile goes a long way. Saying things like "Give me that plate," slamming cups onto the table, and appearing annoyed throughout the meal doesn't create a welcoming dining experience. Hospitality is just as important as the food, and I hope this feedback is taken constructively.
