So I was starving after hiking Whitings and Wahoo's is too convenient given it is at the trailhead. I ordered the kale salad with salmon which is pretty good and I would recommend if you want something healthy. I also had the chicken tortilla soup, which you can totally pass. It was not that great. Casual. Lots of parking. I must have come at a bad time because the restaurant was not busy but the food took forever to come out. For that reason I probably won't be back. Wahoo's in Foothill Ranch, has been here since this plaza opened right off of Portola next to the 241 toll roads. It seems to be a somewhat popular chain. I am honestly not so sure about, Wahoo's. Why? Well, I have only been once, so this is based solely on the one item and time I ever ate something there. I brought my daughter and her best friend for lunch after they had been buggin' me for days. I didn't know what to order and being that I took them during my lunch hour, I was a little rushed in figuring out what to get. Maybe that's what the problem was, I don't know. The staff at the counter was friendly. The dining area needed a bit of cleaning. I'm guessing it was just after lunch rush hour. I decided to grab the Kahlua pig bowl which is carnitas sautéed in teriyaki over rice and beans, garnished with salsa. I love carnitas, so I thought why not. But now that I am typing this out...it doesn't sound appealing to me at all. Why I chose this bowl over others, I have no clue. Maybe it's my preference for Asian flavors that got me. I did not like this. I thought the combination of carnitas with the teriyaki sauce and salsa was weird. Would I ever order this dish again? Absolutely not, but would I ever come back? Sure. I am willing to try them again, but I am going to really look at the menu for something that sounds much more to my liking. read more

I ordered my burrito to go at 8:36 pm and when I arrived I was the only person in the place. The person who ordered after me got his food right away as I still waited... Then the next person who ordered after him had his name called with his order being ready. Now that 15 minutes had past, so I asked why my order wasn't up yet. As it turns out my one burrito was inside the 2nd person's to go bag of food...Really...?!?! Pictured below is my $14.00 burrito (with tax), so exactly what am I paying for?!? Certainly it's not the fast service or the generous portions or the level of accomodations that was not afforded me after I had to literally pull my food out of the other customer's order? Next time I will be going to Chipotle - they literally hand you the food as you are ordering it and their portions are quite generous! This location is in a strip mall next to Starbucks , nail salon and breakfast place. The parking is limited but you can park in the office complex across the street. The menu isn't allergy coded which is a pain. They do have an allergy list you can ask for behind the counter. Everyone at this location was super helpful and friendly. The food was really fresh. I played it super safe and got the salad without the tortilla strips. They even remade me a salad without the strips because I was concerned . Definitely will be back to this location. Not sure if other locations are as helpful. read more

First off, I love Wahoo's Fish Tacos. It has plenty of healthy food options and the sauces are a must try (and then obsess over). Maria's Spicy Green Sauce is my number one go to sauce here. And on to the food... THE FOOD ELABORATION. - Banzai Bowl | Carnitas, banzai vegetables, salad (sub from beans), cauliflower rice (sub from rice). Added marinated tofu for giggles. I felt healthy with this dish. It had a variety of vegetables; some roasted, others raw. The carnitas were shredded and had a slight sweetness to it. I poured some of Maria's Spicy Green Sauce on top and enjoyed this wonderful dish. THE RETURN QUANDARY. Absolutely coming back. I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet, as I come here at least once a month. It's a step up from fast food Mexican like Taco Bell (lol) but it's certainly not Javier's! Basically you order at the cashier then they'll bring your food to your table if you're dining in. I have several go-to dishes. If I'm not too hungry, I'll get the kids protein bowl which comes with rice beans and your choice of protein for $5.99 (I usually get chicken). It's a decent size bowl and I usually slap some salsa on top to make it complete. The rice and beans are always fresh and the charbroiled chicken is tasty. My second favorite dish is their taquitos for $7.99, which also comes with rice and beans, as well as guacamole and sour cream. This is what I typically get when I'm hungry. And when I'm just down for a smaller meal then I'll get two ala carte charbroiled chicken tacos with slaw. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu, and prices are fairly reasonable. I usually call my order in or place it online. By the time I get there 10 minutes later, it's usually ready. They have a separate line for pick up orders so you don't have to stand in the long line of people waiting to order. If you decide to eat there, they have plenty of comfortable booths and tables inside, as well as a nice little patio outside. On the weekends you'll find lots of bikers who like to hang out there. Service is always fast and friendly. They're located in a small shopping plaza off of Portola Pkwy in Foothill Ranch. Plenty of parking is available. Definitely a great place to grab a quick bite to eat! read more

Nice quick spot on the LF gift card list. Can't go wrong with the potato tacos, taquitos, and chicken quesadilla. The shrimp bowl was nice too but not sure if I prefer it over the others. Which consisted of a few pieces of chopped chicken, a small piece of fish (+$0.75) and coleslaw. Wahoo's should be embarrassed for charging such high prices for such bland, unappetizing food. Absolutely nothing special or tasty about the food, I would not recommend this restaurant. Food is really tasty. Salsa bar is good. The 1/2 end of foam keg of the excellent Sculpin Ale as a comped treat would have been nice, but no Bueno. I would have bought another one just for the fun and kindness. Bring your own fork or silver tableware if you actually wish to comfortably eat your meal because the terrible thin utensils from Yahoo's are sadly uncomfortable and non functional. Food is good though...we used to visit 3x a month, now only 1x month due to big price increase. Restaurants really need to figure out a better balance with this ridiculous price inflation. Most importantly, I want to mention Omar and Erick - both servers, who brought our food to our table. They were exceptionally friendly, helpful and amazing attitudes. "Secret Half-price Beer + Good Menu + Friendly Manager, Sergio." Yes, you heard me right. They have a special feature called, "The Beer of the Month." For a 14 oz glass it's only $2.99. I confirmed with the nice manager that there is no sign at the front counter. I enjoyed the Sculpin IPA, but for $2.99, I'm pretty sure I would have enjoyed the Modelo even more! Well anyway, I still enjoyed my meal here. I ordered the combination plate with one chicken enchilada and one steak taco. The combination plate comes with a huge quantity of beans and rice. I upgraded to the wild rice. I thought the taco was excellent, and the steak enchilada was pretty good. Unless you have a really huge appetite, I bet you'll find the combination plate too large. I think next time I will skip the combination plate and just order the taco or enchilada ala carte. I was delivered a steak enchilada, when I really ordered a chicken enchilada. But beyond that it was a good visit. Fun atmosphere with an excellent menu. The employees here are really friendly and helpful. I am definitely coming back. The service is always great and speedy with very friendly workers at all levels. I don't believe I have ever had a complaint for their food or service and that goes a long way.
