Great chowder, fish and chips and ohhh, the fries! Guilty pleasure order today after our 10k walk across the Astoria bridge. My friends were equally gleeful Chopin's fish tacos, a juicy burger from Smash and a po buy! There is A Brewery there as well. Close to downtown shopping I highly recommend this cozy food area for lunch or dinner. read more

I ordered fish and chips. I got 3 fish tacos. My fault for not opening the containers when she handed them to me. I didn't order this because I'm allergic to corn and my wife hates cilantro. Corn tortillas and corn chips. Cilantro all over the plate. We're from San Diego, we don't order fish tacos outside of that area. These were no match for the tacos were accustomed to. They were totally flavorless. The salsa was definitely Pace picante. Meh. Didn't realize this until we got home. And we were starving so we pulled it apart and had to make it work. I can't eat half of my meal. So disappointing. We went to the Costal Burger spot a few days ago and those burgers were off the hook! We expected their neighbors to be playing in the same league. We got the fish n chips and it was the perfect complement to our double IPA. The batter was super crispy and light, just the way we like it. Food cart located in the parking lot of Reach Break Brewing. The girl working the front who helped us was the surliest and rudest person I have ever encountered when dining out. That's quite an achievement in itself. There were definitely many exacerbated sighs and eye rolling. Attitude when ordering fish tacos-No thanks. That's enough reason to never head back. In terms of the food, my order came with three fish tacos. The fish was fresh and tasty, but the tacos were dry and needed more of a tasty slaw/sauce to liven things up. The fries and Ahi we ordered were both absolutely delicious. Its really unfortunate that we were so uncomfortable ordering there, as the food in general was pretty tasty. read more

Seafood cart in downtown Astoria. Slow service (which seems to be the thing around here), and the staff was indifferent. The only good thing was the french fries. The clam chowder was terrible. It had a sprinkling of clams and unpeeled carrots. The worst part is the cream sauce was broken. Seemed like they tried to fix it by adding a bunch of butter which just made it taste greasy. Yuck. The Fish Po Boi tasted like a glorified McDonalds fish sandwich. Nothing at all special. We ended up throwing most of the food away. Next time we will move on to a different food cart. read more

Super nice staff even when you get there at the least minute(sorry!). The fish po-boy was fantastic. Crisp flaky fried fish that was very fresh on the best bun I've had. The slaw, tartar etc was flavoring without overwhelming the fish. The seared ahi was perfect. Get the sauce on the side because the fish alone was great. Got a poke bowl and fish and chips. The fish in the poke bowl was very much good blue fin tuna. No rice, which was surprising but suited me fine. Very nice mix of ingredients. The fish and chips had outstanding fries and I'm told excellent fish. That fish and tartar sauce had a slight curry edge to them. Really good and a bit different. read more

I hate to leave a bad review for small businesses but my food was literally unedible. The service was really friendly though! I ordered the tuna fish and chips, for $22.. the fries were great, I ate those. But I was only able to get down one bite of the fish. It was so overly saturated in oil that the flavor of the batter had an aftertaste of old re-used oil and the batter was so thick that it didn't fully fry and was raw and doughy on the inside. The fish inside looked good but I couldnt make it past the batter.. for that price I'd excpect much better especially at the coast where there are so many amazing fish & chip options. I took the meal home in hopes that my boyfriend would eat it (he's a litteral trash can when it comes to food) and even he took like two bites and said the batter tasted wierd and ended up throwing it away. Other people seem to like it so maybe I just had a bad batch but I dunno.. I'll stick to the Bowpicker truck next time if i want fish. read more

Fish and chips are so damn good!! We had some fish and chips at Fort George brewery (down the road) before we found this place and Wahoo Charlie's is far superior!! The batter is so perfect and crispy The fries are also very delicious! Highly recommend if you are in the area and looking for legit fish and chips. I've had many variations of 'fish & chips,' and without a doubt this order was one of the best I've eaten! Lightly beer-battered exterior(like tempura), moist and delicious fish underneath, and crispy chips, all with a unique spicy, Cajun-like dipping sauce. Man-O-man, these 3 generously sized pieces, along with a beer, served in a spartan, outdoor setting, was humble and delicious. Guy was super cool to me and my family. We got two orders of fish n chips and a po boy. The fish was moist, greasy and golden-crunchy like it ought to be; only ever had it like this before at the Frying Scotsman in Beaverton. Chips were nice and crispy, curry sauce was on point too. First ate here many months ago, on a whim while stopping by reach break. They were previously very rarely open, so I grabbed some fish tacos when I had the chance. Decent. Fairly quick. Stopped in for a beer at Reach Break and Wahoo Charlie's was one of the food trucks. Ordered tacos, clam chowder, and fries with cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was REALLY good! The clam chowder was some of the best we'd had on our trip. The chowder had a great flavor and wasn't your generic too creamy full of potatoes chowder. The fish tacos were just as tasty & D'Shaun even modified them for our youngest picky eater- he devoured them! Amazing food & service- so glad we are here!!!! We will be back for sure read more
