I love Wagamamas. The food is amazing, the portions are huge and the deserts are to die for. So why haven't I given it a 5 star rating I hear you ask? There are a few things that I mark the restaurant down for. 1 is the long bench style seating, I've never been a fan of sitting so close to other people. Great for big parties or groups, rubbish for intimate 2-4 people groups. 2 is the food service and I quote 'As the food is made fresh, it will arrive out of the kitchen at different times' so there may be up to 5 minutes or so, possibly longer between orders coming out of the kitchen. To me this isn't an excuse, plenty of other restaurants manage to serve all the orders at once. Its about timing and employing more chefs to make it work. Apart from my two minor downsides this is still one of my favourite places to eat. The staff are friendly and efficient and the whole experience is a nice one.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Wagamama!! Anything I've tried in this place is always so good. If I had to pick a favourite dish..I guess I'd have to say the teriyaki salmon / steak. They do a great pad thai also. The chicken katsu curry is great too and very popular. Some of the sides are a little pricey, but worth it! duck gyoza & plum sauce - yes!! The portions are typically fairly large & reasonably priced. I've always gone away fully satisfied and what's even better, is that most of the food would be considered quite healthy. They do a great range of drinks, including freshly prepared fruit juices, as well as beers (Asahi & Tiger among others); wines; sake and soft drinks. If you're interested in trying Japanese alternatives to sushi, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a go! 5 stars from me:)

Super spicy yasai surendra curry. Too oily and spicy

Wagamama this time around is not what I remembered it to be a few years ago. The ramen broth was flavourless and the noodles had a bad texture. On top of that, it was way too expensive for the quality of food you get. The only positive I have for the bowl of ramen was that it was a big portion - but really portion size means nothing if the quality is not there. If you're looking for an authentic bowl of Ramen, this is not the place to go. It was more like a big bowl of whatever was cheap and frozen. We also had the Yasai Surendra's curry, and although it wasn't as awful as the ramen, it wasn't the greatest either. The curry was VERY spicy-not that good kind of spicy that wants you to eat more.. it was more like the spicy that'll have you glued to the toilet seat in agony for the next few days. Service however was great and the ambiance of the place is lovely, but I just don't understand the hype of Wagamama with the food being mediocre at best and way too over priced.

Gorgeous gyoza

I love eating out, but sometimes you think (or your tightening jeans tell you) you need a healthier option and I like to think Wagamama is the best choice for this in town. Serving a wide range of rice and noodle dishes, with loads of options for vegetarians it is always a popular spot in Victoria Square. We hadn't been for a while, so this time I tried one of their new brown rice dishes which would have been a little bland without the side of chillies I had ordered. We also got a portion of the gyoza which is always brilliant, the steamed ones being nicer (and healthier) than the fried ones. Everyone sitting at long benches is perhaps not the best place to have private chats, but it is quick and decent enough before nipping upstairs to the cinema. Sadly the standard of service has declined recently, with us basically having to chase the server round so we could pay and leave, but it's reasonably priced and their beef ramen is like a big noodley hug in a bowl.

My favourite asian restaurant. I've never had a bad meal in this place. Food is modern, fresh, fragrant and balanced. Staff are really friendly and efficient and it's nice to be able to see the chefs cooking up your food. Serve excellent fruit juices, beers and wines

The chicken dish was pre-processed, re-heated multi times and very dry, despite some form of teriyaki sauce that resembled nothing like Japan. The side of fried dumplings were over-cooked, dry and looked like they should be a bull yet in a gun, rather than fresh and tasty. Oh, plus they had run out of Shiraz wine after 15 minutes of searching. Not at all recommended

I love this place - I'm not gonna lie - totally love it. The food is delicious, the portions are good, the staff are great, the wine is fresh and light. I can't fault it. Not got a bad word to say. Wagamama also have a great range of vegetarian and vegan options on their menu. I'm particularly partial to the Yasai Katsu Curry, which consists of deep fried vegetables with curry sauce, rice, side salad and pickles. Sublime.

Teriyaki donburi with chicken - a feast!!

Wagamama is the ultimate communal dining experience, large tables and benches are what this restaurant is about. If you don't like sharing with strangers this may not be the place for you - don't worry though it's only the table not the food! The staff are attentive but not over bearing and have an excellent knowledge of the food available. The menu can look a bit intimidating with all the Japanese food on offer but the explanations below are very thorough so there should be no doubt in what you are ordering. The concept itself is a bit unusual as they pride themselves on freshly cooked meals which means they will not leave your meal under a heat lamp - if it's ready it will be served so this sometimes results in food envy as your friends food could arrive quite a while before yours, so be warned! The menu is extensive and it will take you a while to decide what to order and chopsticks are the cutlery of choice on every table but don't be alarmed as if you are like me there must be some voodoo magic that you have to possess to successfully feed yourself with two sticks - knives and forks are available on the table to help those in need. Tonight I dined with three friends and we were all impressed with the food on offer - I had the teriyaki donburi with chicken which was a bowl of sticky rice with chicken grated carrots and lamb lettuce, it was extremely filling and very tasty, improved by the spice condiment which is on every table (no idea what this is but it was amazing!). The only dampener on this place was the price of the wine £6.95 for a small glass is a bit expensive. All in all a great place to come for a big feed.

This is one of my top chain restaurants. The food is always super fresh, guilt free, healthy and fragrant. Portion sizes are good and leave you feeling suitably satisfied. The sides are really tasty. Would recommend the tori kara age, squid & duck gyoza. For main I'm a huge fan of the teriyaki salmon, pad thai, chicken katsu curry or the donburi. Staff are friendly and service is excellent. Food is cooked to order and not left to sit. The kitchen is open plan and you can watch the chefs cooking in their woks.

Unreal food! So beautiful and worth every penny, price is on point for what you get. Get sooo much food and the tastes are mind blowing. Staff are lovely and really efficient. There is chop sticks and forks so you can use either which is fun. I got the itsame ramen and it was fab!

The dining area is very chic with lots of sleek lines. Very elegant but modern style. Loved all the tableware as well - everything seemed earthy and hand thrown. Our favorites of the night were hands down the duck and truffle fried rice - we all fought for this dish toward the end. It was one of the most unctuous bites of food that I've ever had. The fried rice was PERFECT - each grain of rice was coated in beautiful fat and was the homiest and warmest kind of dish. Would come back for this alone. I highly recommend coming to YuGo, especially if you have a large group and want to try a variety of dishes. All the flavors and cook were spot on, and we really enjoyed our time. Thank you YuGo!

We sampled the fried dumplings, the wok fried green beans (YUM), truffle duck fried rice, and yellowtail nigiri. The yellowtail nigiri was insanely good. It didn't specify on the menu that it would be anything different than traditional nigiri, but it did have a non traditional sauce on it... and WOW it worked. The duck fried rice was delightful, but a bit too truffle forward (for us) to the point where it was too rich to eat much of. The 4 star review is purely because of the ambiance. The lighting is crazy. It's super dark in there, but the lights over the tables are like spotlights. It felt like we were on display to the other patrons. Additionally, the music is quite loud. Otherwise, food was fantastic and the service was also great! Highly recommend if you can exist in that sort of environment. Really cool concept very well executed.

Delighted by a lengthy vegan menu, but not so delighted by the actual food. Spiced potato cake…read morestarter consisted of potato cakes which seemed like frozen, mass-produced items. While the Tofu Saag Main consisted of sauce which was flavourful, the tofu itself was soft, gelatinous and poorly prepared. I cannot understand why a restaurant would bother serving tofu if it's not going to do it properly. Tofu should be crispy, firm, well-pressed and marinated - this tofu possessed none of these qualities. Indeed it was a soft tofu more suited to making desserts rather than a firm tofu which would be better suited to such a main dish. Pluses included tasty vegan naan bread, a dedicated vegan/ vegetarian menu, excellent service from two attentive waitresses and a beautiful restaurant interior. Food in Soul is not cheap, so it should be of better quality and it could be with a few small tweaks.

Good for the soul!…read more That's their motto and I couldn't agree more, let me tell you a wee story... It was my pals birthday and I said I'd meet him for lunch and as he works on the Dublin road that seemed the logical place to have lunch, especially as we both only had an hour to spare. I have to admit that initially we planned to go to Kitch but unfortunately the door was still locked when we approached. I suggested Souls as I had seen it when passing by and had also seen it pop up on my trusty Yelp app. To be perfectly honest I wasn't too hopeful, not because it didn't look great but because I thought it was more of a dinner destination that a lunch spot. Let's start with the decor, it's light bright and modernly furnished - a really comfortable environment without being overly formal - just what you want for a lunch time destination. We were presented with lunch menus when we entered. the options were good although they were definitely a little more expensive in comparison to other lunch menus I've seen. I ordered the Chicken Tikka wrap! When it came I was shocked at the presentation, they made what could have been a simple wrap in to a work of art, the salad sat in a lettuce leaf, the sauce was smeared on the plate michelin style and the wrap was cut in half exposing the tender chicken. The wrap was actually a gluten free naan bread - sensational is the only word I can use to describe it. The wrap had a spicy kick but it wasn't overbearing. Overall the food was incredible, a really great lunch. I didn't feel too full and it was pretty healthy. Really top class food. The other thing to note was the speed of the food (lunch crowd take note) We ordered at 12:15 and our food was with us by 12:35! The staff were great too - granted there was only two of us in the restaurant but they were attentive and eager to help! The whole experience was fantastic - it won't be long until I'm back!

It is very loud, both from people talking and then with music once that started. This is more of a vibe place than a good food place. Misoshiru has too much miso. The mackerel was a bit disappointing, the vinegar flavoring is light and it has that thawed from frozen texture. The rice is good, much better than I typically see stateside. The tuna was oddly sweet and didn't have firmness. The hamachi was spot on though, not sure why the other two were misses. The signature dish is fried monkfish in something similar to sweet and sour sauce, honestly not that impressed. Cheesecake is not as dense as American cheesecake and not fluffy like a soufflé, I think it was a good middle ground. Not too sweet.

The staff are all very friendly and attentive, couldn't do enough for you. And the chef provides great entertainment throughout the evening.
