The purpose of this review is not to harm this location but to make them aware that we care and want them to get 5's. Ice machine broken so no ice for drinks. We recommend you go buy some bagged ice rather than immediately disappoint your guests. What did you say? We can't hear you because the music is blasting and the 6 staff are having to talk to loudly to one another as they also sing and dance to the music. We told them we like the song choices. The person we guess was the manager said someone paid and played them on the jukebox. He didn't know who, but he did know it was loud. Unfortunately they have no control over the volume. We think you should double check that. Order: eggs, bacon, toast and hash browns. Eggs and hash browns arrive. Five minutes later bacon comes. Another five minutes brings the toast. As far as we can remember, this is the practice of this location. We do not recall that being the routine for other locations. We should probably specify we like ours to arrive together. Waffel House has its reasons for making the exception to spend your hard earned money in an establishment such as this. I'm not judging Waffel House, as once a brief former employee, food and the customer service makes up of a large reason why folks choose the establishment. HOWEVER, if you know like I have come to know, whats good for the Goose is no good for the Gander, now this particular Waffel House had not only bad food that morning, long wait time " How is that possible? and I ordered online" , per the restaurant request for Sunday mornings, once checking the order after it sat on the to-go stand for at least an hour,due to the receipt not being g stabled onto the bags, I consistent operatio al procedures not being followed, after being seen walk in and out several times I was asked "what was the name on the order", and still I had to send the order back twice for not have all item ordered, in all bad customer service! And don't ask for no ranch dressing or ask fir the servers to do their job, they will tell you " it can't be done " Ask for sprite? You could see they clearly have sprite, and they will respond we don't carry sprite, or order so ething yiu k ow they carry, and will let you know, that was last week thus week we don't have ranch, and I understand they could well have been out, but too not even make an effort to initiate customer satisfaction is beyond me, none the less, too top it off tye corridor had this funky smell. Horrible service! If I could give zero stars, I would. Will never visit this restaurant again! I'm disappointed as a Zebulon resident. Walked in to restaurant to place a takeout order (because they never answer the phone) and Manager told me I had to place my order online. After adding menu items using online ordering site, got an error message that this location is currently not accepting online orders. I showed the message to the Manager and her exact words were "I don't know what to tell you." Seriously?! read more

This is by and large the worst Waffle House that I have ever attempted to eat at in my 58 years of living. The last four times I have been here regardless of the time of day half of the store is partitioned off with a 30 minute wait because of the alleged lack of help. I had previously only been to one WH before, in Florida, over 20 years ago when I first moved to the US, and had such a poor experience I never went back. Indeed my wife said it made me into a food snob and I boycotted it. To me it epitomised the worst of food... all carbs, no greens, huge portions and excessive carbs. The poor experience was exacerbated by the wait staff all of whom were heavy smokers which was even more off putting than the food. However, after seeing the review by the late, great Anthony Bourdain's of a WH in Charleston, SC we went to our local one with an open mind. It was good.... comfort food with no frills. The breakfast special with 2x eggs, toast and sausage plus a pecan waffle hit the spot.... all this plus coffee for $10 cannot be beat. The staff at the WH in Zebulon were terrific and could not have been more welcoming. I will be back, not every week, but certainly within the next 20 years!!! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. We came in and the front tables open so we decided to sit there and they said we couldn't but could take the food to go. They should have a sign to tell people we couldn't sit there. (also had seats on the side) We sat there last time so I don't understand why we couldn't sit and i thought maybe because they're understaffed but they said we could take the food to go? The waitress was so very sweet her name was Kendra me and my sister came for her birthday and when I told her it was my sisters birthday she sang happy birthday and put it on the jut box. Our bill was completely covered and so I obviously gave her a good tip. She has amazing customer service!!! Coming to the Waffle House on my sisters birthday is our new tradition and I hope we have her again next year as our waitress. read more

Worst visit! I'm sure the waitress must've been having a rough day.... anyway, we didn't get our coffees until after we got our meal. I came here on christmas day and it was packed. I understand, it's christmas and we were more than willing to wait for service. We waited 20 minutes to be seat which is fine and reasonable. we sat down and our waiter took our drink order. She didn't come back to bring us our drinks until i kept looking at her and she came over and said "i'm sorry have i took your order?" we said no and she took our order and brought our drinks. Food was good, service wasn't so we only left a $10 cash tip on a $28 bill. We left the restaurant and went to check our card today and she charged us an additional $10 tip on top of the $10 cash tip we already gave her. We have always had the best experience at this location. The nicest servers and the best cooks. However this time was very different. Jacob was our server and Alex was the cook. When we came in, it took 10 minutes to get a menu after we were seated. It took forever to get drinks and It took 22 minutes for our food to get to the table and when it did, everything was cold and I mean everything. They burnt all the waffles that were being cooked and had to start over which took even more time and they just laughed about it. They were carrying on, banging on the counters, their masks were pulled down, everything was completely unprofessional. When paying, Jacob asked how everything was and my fiancé told him it could've been better and told him all the things that went wrong. This was our 5th visit to this location.. It was Father's Day and very busy. Every single time we've been here the staff has been very nice, today they were really one their game. We were greeted by at least 6 staff members and at least 4 of them asked if we needed anything. Our food was fast and delicious. Great Job Guys! read more
