As a northerner, I'm not in Waffle House territory more than a couple times a year, but when I'm there, it's a necessary stop that beats eating a box of Hostess donuts in the car. This visit to Waffle House was around 9 AM on a muggy Monday. Walk in, take a seat, immediately place my order and watch it be cooked in front of me. I ordered my standard, a pecan waffle and regular hashbrowns with sweet tea to drink. Less than 5 minutes later, piping-hot hashbrowns and a waffle were in front of me, both having been plated seconds before. My fork magically transformed into a shovel and, before I knew it, my plates were bare. Paid at the register and was on my way. Total time in restaurant? Less than 15 minutes. I had a fantastic experience at Waffle House! Our server, Ebany, was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcomed from the moment we sat down. Our drinks stayed full, the food came out quickly, and she checked in on us often without ever being intrusive. It's clear she really cares about her customers and enjoys what she does. If I could give you 10 stars I would. I longer live near waffle houses and it's been awhile since I've had it and I had the chance to eat there on my last visit back to kentucky. 3:30 am Stopped in and store is moderately busy with one cook and one waitress I was greeted by both promptly and it didn't seemed forced. Sat down and waitress was at my table With in 2-3 minutes. Order was taken without being rushed. Food arrived in a very acceptable time frame Food was warm and delicious. Coffee was hot and fresh and I never saw the bottom of my cup once. Just a mile south of my hotel in Wilder. Nice and clean for a Waffle House. It was busy on a Thursday morning at 8:30 am. I had coffee with two eggs over medium, grits, bacon, and toast. Eggs came out perfect. Bacon was crispy, grits were hot. I think they needed more butter, but they were good. The toast was buttery. All this came to $9.40. The guy who said he was in charged name tag JON JON , is very rude , and had one employee quit cause he kept yelling at the customers including myself. Instead of taking care of the orders and being in charge like he should have . He definitely wasn't doing his job stepping up. The cooks were great and made our food right but Jon had us wait almost 45 minutes to the hour when he told us it'll be only a 20 minute wait. Then told us we was being rude after we told him he was being rude all night to everyone . You all need a new night shirt person who have more patience then Jon . We waited around 20 minutes sitting to get our drinks ordered with no one talking to us at all then another 20 minutes after that and didn't get a chance to order food before they shut everything down (they are open 24 hours btw). And then when my fiancé got his lemonade it looked like water and tasted slightly like onions. It honestly looked like dishwater. Our menus also stuck to our hands. Very disappointed the chef burnt my wife's bacon twice. Coffee grounds all in our coffee. The grill was up to high making the outside of everything hard as a rock. Not to mention our server waited till our food got done to even bring us our drinks. I would of totally understood if they were very busy but they had two other costumer's other than us. Best Feature: Um... they have food. Worst Feature: Awful service, uninviting interior, food quality is average. It's rare I ever give a location only one star, but this restaurant earned it. I visited here recently during a late night trip home and was so turned off by the entire experience that I have sworn to not return again. First off, the diner itself is not very well kept. The interior is uninviting and there was astonishing few seating areas. We were lucky to snag the only booth that had just opened up when we walked in, which had clearly not been cleaned at all. Despite the mess, we took a seat and began to peruse the menu. The menu selection itself is decent; they have sandwiches, salads, burgers, and breakfast foods including hash browns, toast, eggs, and more. The one highlight of the evening was noticing they mark dishes and ways in which you can eat a healthier meal, which is super helpful! Our waitress was not impressive. She was able to take our drink orders and nicely wiped off the booth for us, but clearly she didn't enjoy her job. She brought over our orders rather quickly (which was nice), and I immediately realized you pay for exactly what you get. The prices are lower than the usual, but the portions are really small as well. I was not impressed and luckily not hungry, so I ate my buttermilk waffle. I was surprised when the waitress came over with most of our order but failed to bring over syrup for both of our waffles or the remainder of the meal for 10 minutes. She didn't bother to come over and check on us, so we actually got up and stole syrup from another table. She finally came back with the last of the meal, so we finished our food and waited for the check. We luckily didn't have to wait too long, but I left with no desire to return. The food is not impressive, the portions are poor, and the service left something to be desired. Since the place is not inviting and not very well-kept, I doubt I'll ever return here again. I've heard before that the Waffle House is really trashy, and my first visit definitely bolstered the credibility of those poor reviews. I am a server and I understand that keeping up with customers and checks during busy times can be challenging, but I would never call the cops on a customer unless I was certain. I eat out a lot and NEVER write reviews. I have had many acceptable and disappointing meals. However, this morning my fiancé and I had an amazing breakfast! The type of service and meal that made me feel inspired and obligated to write a review and give praise where praise was certainly due! From the moment we walked in the restaurant, we were greeted with "Good Morning", and as soon as we were seated we were asked for our drink order. The excellent service continued throughout the meal with multiple waitresses checking on us and serving our food/grabbing refills. The food was served within minutes of arrival and came out made to order! The entire staff communicated with one another in a professional manner and worked tirelessly as a team refilling condiments, cleaning tables, etc. There was even a regular, elderly customer sitting nearby that multiple waitresses teased with in a very sweet manner. Extremely disgusting to watching the cook prepare your food in front of you. This cook has a complete disregard for food safety. He thinks his gloves are there to protect his hands from getting dirty. He didn't change his gloves one time while handling the raw food and the prepared food. Yes that's right, I watched my food handled right after his hands were on raw pork and poultry! The manager was right there watching the whole thing, you would think that she would care! If I could give less than one star I would!! Went there last night after a concert and it took half an hour just to get drinks!!!!
