Had one of the best Waffle House experiences here. Service is great and food was really good! (for a Waffle House lol) my grits were moist and well seasoned. I enjoyed my breakfast here!

When whenever I take my truck in for service I always make it a point to stop at the Waffle House on Abercorn Street. The service is quick it's always good there's a conversation and the food is cooked just the way you asked for it. The servers are very friendly they even come around and ask if you want it for refill in your coffee, better than some of the breakfast places I've been to recently. A 5-star rating is definitely in support of the great service the good food and the friendly atmosphere I strongly encourage anyone who wants to have a good hot breakfast served with a smile and conversation to come to the Waffle House on Abercorn Street. The picture below tell the real story.

We had the best experience tonight. The food was amazing but the service was even better. Mike and Kail were awesome.

Awesome service and food. Mike and Kail totally rocked it. They made us feel so welcome and we never wanted for a thing.

2nd time is the charm. Much better service than the last. Biscuits are amazing. Waffles are so light and fluffy!

The greeting from our arrival to seating was prompt and very courteous. We got suggestions from the wait staff and started our experience. They have an extensive cocktail and wine list. We started with a drink called Southern Hospitality and their branded Old Fashioned. Both drinks were exceptional. We accompanied that with Grilled Octopus, which was sensational. Very hard not to make it chewy. Great char and sauce that accompanied it. For entrees, we did the Perloo, an amazing interpretation, and a swordfish. Both dishes were immaculately prepared and perfectly sized. We chose a bottle of Loss and Lehn, something we had never tried before but recommended based on what we had ordered. It matched perfectly with both dishes. We also choose items from the pick 3 menu to accompany our entrees. We finished with the best bread Pudding we have ever had nd french press coffee. The price was very reasonable considering the quality and the service, and should not be missed next time you are in Savanah.

Both dishes were very well prepared and felt thoughtfully put together without trying too hard. The fish on both plates was cooked correctly, portions were solid, and flavors worked well together. With my wife's gluten and dairy allergy, plus my tree nut allergy, Alpha-Gal, and diabetes, we're usually a decent stress test for a kitchen. Staff handled questions professionally and didn't make ordering feel complicated. Atmosphere strikes a nice balance--upscale enough for a date night or business dinner, but still relaxed and comfortable. Service was attentive without hovering. Good for: dates, business meals Probably not ideal for: small children

That kind of ownership matters. *** Disappointing birthday dinner Came in for my birthday and left underwhelmed. Our server Troy was the one bright spot -- professional and attentive all night. Caesar salad: Several bitter pieces of lettuce, and no black pepper offered or available. Faroe Island salmon: Overly buttery like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The shishito cream sauce was way too acidic -- tasted like uncooked wine or vinegar. Crispy rice cakes were bland and a strange pairing (rice blocks with salmon?). The baby bok choy was decent until the sauce drowned it out. Braised beef short rib: Tender but flavorless. The mashed potatoes tasted old, not fresh that evening. To top it off, my wife had arranged ahead of time for the birthday dessert to be brought out -- the message never reached Troy, so that moment never happened. Troy deserved better than what the kitchen sent out. Won't be back.

They have TV's all around constantly playing a sports game and there are pool tables as well. The Dance floor is pretty big and if I'm correct it's a 25+ club so the crowd is more mature. Their frozen drinks are flavorful and stiff, the bartenders are kind and they pour like they know what they're doing. I finally got to try the food tonight and I honestly enjoyed it all, I got the breaded wings and they were solid, the fries were great though and they warm up well which is a plus (everything came out hot and with every condiment I requested). They have a pretty decent menu that I can't wait to try. They were doing a special for Ladies Night if you spend $8 or more you get a coupon and at 9pm you get to redeem it for a free fish and grits plate. I opted for just the fish but the flavor was on point. I talked to a regular who said they always come for the fried shrimp and honestly if the shrimp taste anything like that fish then it's money in the bank! Whoever was at the door checking I.D (I think it was the manager or owner) he was very nice, once I was informed by him that they weren't doing their usual Thursday night Karaoke only Ladies Night I was so heart broken. He explained why and then he even offered to let me do a song (I only declined because I didn't want to put extra weight on their shoulders) I thought that was really nice of him. I'm definitely coming back to Odyssey for the food, atmosphere and all around energy!!

It's a really pretty, sunny room with a few different seating areas (bar, upstairs, main seating, sidewalk, etc.) just a short Uber (or middling walk) from Downtown. Reasonably priced and totally worth your trip over to check it out. Might be my best breakfast of the year so far, and it's December! Short rib hash bowl was both moist and crispy, just the right side of too salty and had some real zing. Umami, for sure! Yum (my mouth's watering just thinking of it a couple days later)! My wife loved her inexpensive (but perfect) waffle and bacon and her hot toddy was pretty inspired. I grabbed a piece of gingerbread cake for the plane home and that proved to be an inspired idea. Tyla took great care of us, whirling around all the other tables and other staffers. Wow, but the place is hopping. Looking at the inspired menu and especially all the baked goods and shakes, well - right then we made up our minds that we HAD to return to Savannah - to eat more of this! I'm glad I don't live nearby: I'd be as big as a house.

Our server was friendly and helpful, which I appreciated. But the food just didn't deliver. I ordered the turkey club (~$20), which was supposed to have honey mustard. The sauce soaked into the bread and didn't taste like honey mustard at all, making the sandwich hard to eat. We also ordered the steak frites (~$30). The steak was overcooked and had clearly been sliced without resting, so it was tough and lacked juice. The chicken and waffles were also underwhelming--the chicken was bland, and the waffle was soggy inside with a strong cinnamon flavor that tasted undercooked. None of us ended up eating more than a few bites of our meals, which was disappointing given how excited we were to try the place. On the positive side, the marinara served with the mozzarella bites was very good, and the ambiance is cute (though the seating isn't the most comfortable). I really hope they work out the kitchen issues, because it would be great to have a solid locally owned diner here. Right now, though, the food quality just doesn't match the prices.
