I'm new to the area and have been having a hard time finding local places who know how to season…read moreand cook food properly. Happened to drive by Ring of Fire Grill and noticed all of the cars parked out front and thought I would give them a try. I have eaten there three times now in less than a month. The food is gooooood and so is their sweet tea! First visit -tried the Reuben Sandwich with fries. It was a perfect Reuben! The Rye bread was fresh and tasty with the perfect ratio of cheese, sauerkraut and corned beef. Served hot with hot crispy crinkle fries that were lightly seasoned. Second visit -tried the Chicken, Bacon & Ranch Wrap with fries. It was served HOT with hot crispy crinkle fries with a side of Ranch to pour over your bites. The wrap was a GENEROUS portion, served cut in half. The grilled chicken was juicy and seasoned perfectly. The wrap has cheese, bacon, grilled chicken, tomatoes, shredded lettuce and onions. The ranch is HOMEMADE and is the best ranch I've had in the area. The sandwich is the best sandwich I've had since coming to the area (Asheboro/Randelman/Ramseur). I've been trying a lot of the locally owned and operated places too. Nobody is even coming close in quality and taste (sandwiches) to Ring of Fire! Third visit, had one of the daily specials. It was a Hibachi Chicken Wrap with fries. Again, the crinkle fries were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The sandwich again was a GENEROUS portion, served hot and cut in half. The wrap had juicy grilled chicken, zucchini, onions, mushrooms, fried rice, and cheese in it. It was served with a white mayonnaise based sauce that was really good. This hibachi wrap is the 2nd best sandwich in the area that I've had so far. The young man behind the counter is super friendly, professional, helpful and I watched him help an elderly lady with her walker to get through the front door which shows he is also KIND. An attribute that is lacking in today's world. Last, I noticed cleanliness. This is a clean and organized restaurant. It's not fancy. All paper, plastic and styrofoam service ware. People who come here return often, some daily. That should tell you something. I forgot to take a picture of the Reuben sandwich, sorry.

How many quaint, down home places do you know where you can order hibachi made to order, hotdogs,…read morePhilly steak, BLT, or all day breakfast?! AND they have a drive-thru! There is limited seating inside, and some outside. We sat outside and it was great to eat outdoors in warm air after a long winter. The location is at the very end of a strip mall, near a secondary road. It's not overly bothersome, just be aware that it's not quiet sitting outside. The service was friendly, despite being super busy. She brought our food outside to us when it was ready. We ordered hibachi chicken with rice, chicken with noodles, and chicken tenders with fries. The hibachi chicken and rice was okay 3/5. The noodles get 0/5. The chicken tenders were huge and get a 4/5. This probably explains why all of the locals were eating burgers and all day breakfast (reminder to listen to the locals!) My youngest son said it looked like "a hole in the wall Chinese food place" inside - and he's right. Inside there's stacks of plasticware, napkins, and yum yum sauce next to the grape jelly. It was an okay lunch, but if we came here again we would get something other than hibachi.

Review update time! This little hole in the wall is still my preferred stop for any destination…read moreheaded southeast, whether that be the Carolina coast, Charleston, whatever. If I'm on 220 (now known as I-73 allegedly) headed south and need fuel for the journey, this is a quick stop I like to make. Now, it isn't perfect. The biscuit is a nice big "cathead" biscuit, but every now and then it will be a little dry. Never been so dry that I couldn't eat it, but I am sure getting there early versus what is often a late morning stop for me guarantees you a more consistently baked biscuit that is still fluffy. On my last trip, someone really messed up the eggs. Looked like I was handed an egg sheet instead of proper scrambled eggs. That one was not one of their better days, but I have been served plenty of good eggs there too. The lack of consistency is what really holds the place back. Maybe in the future I'll try going a little further to their sister location in Asheboro, which might be busier and having the produce fresh biscuits more often. Inside, it's a true dive. The literal definition of get your biscuit, eat it quick, and vamoose. Everything about it has seen better days, bathrooms are permanently grimey from years and years of use, they're as clean as one could expect given how old it is. Overall, this will put something in your belly, and leave you with a big "to-go" tea for your cupholder. Perhaps, even too big for your cupholder. If you like a cathead biscuit, this is a fine spot.

However when I…read morereturned the 2 I bought because I got huge biscuits with a tiny half dollar sized hockey puck in the middle. The girl at the windows told me those are large but refunded me only $7 & some change.when I explained oh I didn't get large then she's with her attitude mamn I refunded you 2 large sausage biscuits I tried to question the menu prices. She looked at me like I was crazy,so I said ok then she only thing that was made large wascthe biscuits she then went to the back brought me a piece of sausage that was little smaller then the one I got. I said ok said not sure why you're getting an attitude with me when I was being nice I just don't want those sandwiches the sausage is tiny.. WILL NOT BE BACK ....

Let it be known this is the place to go to get the best fried chicken in Asheboro…read more On the menu, it's a 1/2 Fried Chicken with 2 sides and choice of a bread. All of that for $9.99! You can't beat that price. I ordered the Fried Chicken with Creamed Potatoes with gravy, Cabbage and hot rolls. The plate came out hot and steamy. The creamed potatoes were served with some of the daily special's gravy on it. It wasn't chicken gravy but it was a good homemade gravy. Were the potatoes real or boxed or a mix of both? I couldn't tell. If they were boxed, they fixed them up to taste real. If they were real, they sure did a great job at creaming them. It's on debate. The Cabbage was cooked perfect, seasoned well. The hot rolls were not homemade but they were fresh, light and fluffy and served warm. The star of the plate was definitely the chicken. Cooked to order, it came out super hot. It was cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside, meat was tender and juicy on the inside. I peeled off some of the skin and juice was dripping all over the plate. It's hard to find good fried chicken and I've been trying several of the local places but so far, this place is #1. Also, the sweet tea is GREAT! The service was super friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and there are lots of tables and booths, but get there early or after lunch because they were full when I arrived at around 1:30pm. I would highly recommend for the Fried Chicken.

My husband had the apple bourbon glazed honey ham and I had the honey drizzled fryed chicken. Food tasted great, but please know chicken was dark meat only, I prefer white but I didn't think to ask. The chicken was perfectly fried to order. My husband said the bourbon glaze was a touch over whelming at first. The all you can eat sides were collards, black eyed peas, sweet potato casserole and mashed potatoes with gravy. Sides were seasoned well and tasteful. The sweet potato casserole a different taste than most, seemed to have marshmallow fluff incorporated in it, not to my liking but my husband did. I was excited for the complimentary petite dessert due to the food we were already served. We chose Carmel apple cake and lemon pound cake. It was disappointing to say the least. I was expecting a flavorful little pop of sweetness. The lemon pound cake seemed to be a inexpensive store bought version and the Carmel apple cake had an icing that only after bite left a greasy film in my mouth. I know it is complimentary and should not complain. Service was great and I would recommend. I would like to try this little country cafe again.
