I follow them on Facebook and they always announce what the special for the day is and I happened to go on National Cheeseburger Day. Yay! The staff at the order counter was so friendly and helpful. I asked about the livestock auction next door and was told it's open to the public so immediately I was curious and excited. You order and pay at the counter and they bring your food out to you. Other staff come around and make sure you are satisfied with your food and they keep your drink full. Very attentive and friendly staff. I ordered a Cheeseburger with fries and a drink. I ordered the cheeseburger with extra cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo and mustard. Food came out hot and fresh and the fries are hand cut. The meat on the burger was FRESH, AMERICAN Black Angus ground beef grown right here in NC. You just can't get any fresher meat. The bun on the burger was fresh and kept the sandwich together even with all of those fresh toppings. And they use the good pickles. Delicious burger! The fries are hand cut there in the restaurant and were fresh and delicious as well. The only thing I would've changed is to ask them to cook the fries a tad bit longer to crisp them up (my preference). They also have really good sweet tea and even though I didn't get a dessert, they offer homemade desserts at the counter and they looked yummy. One additional plus. Their prices. Very reasonable prices. After lunch, I checked out the livestock auction. It was very interesting to watch and that auctioneer was awesome. The spices on the apple filling on the fried pies were perfect, and I savored every bite that I stole from my husband. My dessert was the Hershey bar cake, which I split with one of my littles. It didn't have a thick layer of icing, which was great. The cake had a nice crumb, and was sweet without being overly sweet. If you haven't been here yet, make sure to take note of their hours and then take a trip to Asheboro.
