The first server took the drink order and never came back. Our party of 9 and a party of 2 were the only ones in the place. She never returned but remained helping others. The next server came over to take the order with an attitude. We were ordering and after each person the server asked, "Anybody Else without looking up so we could order. We have 9 people of course EVERYBODY ELSE wants to order!!! SHE WAS VERY RUDE THROUGH OUT THE ORDER TAKING PROCESS. She brought the food and asked who had the tenders? We said there are 2 and she quickly got smart and said, "I UNDERSTAND THAT!" (Rudely!!) At that point she had to be told NOT TO BE RUDE!!!! Food was mediocre but the SERVICE after she was told was better because a 3rd server kept checking in with us. No apology was issued for her rudeness. No name tag was on the server but she has short dyed hair! You know who you are!!! We like trying a new place each month! LET DOWN ALL AROUND! Note: chicken salad watered down and NO flavor!! This is one of my favorite little dive bars. Friendly people, great menu and service. They have karaoke and a full bar with live bands on occasion. Pretty good kids meals and they make their own sauce for wings. They usually have different types of fries like waffle and shoestring. Prices ain't bad but everything has been going up the past year anyways. Also they are have benefits and charity jars alot. Having been going here for a while. Really enjoy most of the customers. Love the karaoke. Weekend evening is always busy. Food is usually good for bar food. Not enough staff. 2 bartenders/ waitresses for the whole place. If you are not drinking alcohol you have to get your own refills or you will thirst to death. I will say that the owner has made sure that I had plenty of tea when I come in because they always run out. I understand that because they don't want to make more and it go to waste. Susan brings me a pitcher of tea when she starts getting low! That is the highlight of my night. Owner allows unacceptable behavior. More worried about upsetting people than solving problems. We were told to turn our heads if we didn't like something. 2 drunk adults having sexual relations in the UNLOCKED bathroom. People complaining about it and owner said that you never know what you will see there. My family goes for the karaoke and to hang out with friends. But I guess because I don't drink my opinion doesn't matter. We spend $100 plus dollars every Saturday night without alcohol. Again the DJ is fabulous!! read more

Cool little hide a way in Liberty. Decent food but about 10% higher than one would expect. Not a total deal breaker. Also, hard to find a parking spot. Have to park on the street. Unexpected yum! I wouldn't say it's a destination restaurant - don't make a special trip. But, if you're in the area, this is your place! I don't do burgers, so I had the shrimp plate with slaw, fried pickles, and hush puppies. But I saw folks devouring the chili cheeseburgers and understood why each table is outfitted with a fixture holding a roll of paper towels. The burgers looked delicious. And messy. My shrimp was nicely fried. Not overcooked and dry, but tasty and moist inside. The fried pickles were excellent. Not the fried wedges I expected, but thin slices. They were like crispy pickle chips - and served with a squirt bottle of very good ranch dressing. Excellent, if ever so slightly over salted. The hush puppies were small and tasty and there were not nearly enough. Very well cooked - not dry and not too wet and bready. The slaw was average - cut far to fine, so it had the texture almost of grits. But, the flavor was very good. The staff, and pretty much everyone in the place, was friendly and quick to smile and laugh. Its the kind of place that makes you feel warm and comfortable. Hurricane Janes is in downtown Liberty, NC. I asked the BBT teller how the place was and she said they were good. I went there. Nice little 'sugar shack' as it is called. I can see they have live music, probably at night. My son had his usual plain cheeseburger and I had the tsunami burger and fried pickles. The sandwich was huge!I figured out the best way to eat it was to get my hands on it and don't set it down because it will fall apart. The fried pickles and the tsunami was so filling that it was all I could do to finish it. Instead of leaving us without drinks, they bring a little pitcher of drink and leave at the table. A hit or miss. The food can be great or it can sometimes be off, but overall it's a family friendly place to eat for a reasonable price. Something they could work on is changing their frying oil. This is totally my dumbass fault for going back there but historically they're known for things going out the back door just as much as the front door but they couldn't get your order right I don't think if you went down there and made it yourself, two weeks ago I was in liberty and I live in Southeast Guilford County, so I thought I'd give them another chance and I ordered a double cheeseburger and an order of regular fries picked it up and brought it home, I ordered a double cheeseburger with just lettuce and mayo and it was loaded with everything on it and I ordered the regular fries because the time before that when I was down there ordered fries and they gave me these nasty waffle fries, so I get home open up the container with the fries and they were regular fries but they look like they had just let them thaw out and then put them in the box and they were never cooked, so like I said tonight I gave him another chance ordered two regular cheeseburgers with lettuce and Mayo and I said I really want regular fries not the waffle fries and could you please make them extra crispy and she said sure so I went and picked up the order brought it home I had one cheeseburger with lettuce and mayo, the other sandwich I don't know what it was but I think it was sausage Emmett head lettuce tomato onions and what I think was chilly on it, and the container , With the fries was the waffle fries again and again didn't even look like they've been cooked at all so that was their last shot in my opinion is after standing there waiting on my food and looking back into the kitchen and watching the people back there skate around on the greasy floor I would say don't Make the same mistakes I have! read more

I was passing through Liberty today with my sister-in-law. We decided to stop at Hurricane Jane's. We have never been there before. Well, I loved it!! The place is funky and homey at the same time. The ladies working there were super nice and friendly. The menu had a good selection and they also had daily specials. The food was delicious. I especially loved their homemade chips...yum!
