We've had an amazing time on all occasions. The space is very comfortable inside with a huge bar top and cozy seating throughout. They have a ton of books and wall decor on the history of Greensboro as well. TVs inside with sports on so the place appeals to many. And the covered patio is great with plenty of seating outside. Huge variety of whites, reds, sweet and dessert wines, plus a nice beer selection for those more into the hops. They also have a small menu of bites, apps and charcuterie's to go along with the drinks. Not a full meal, but a perfect pairing for the drinks. The owners are a blast as well. Inviting, friendly and a pleasure to talk to. They have a ton of activities planned weekly and monthly. Live music all the time, special wine flights, and amazing dinner and wine events you can sign up for in advance. A great pit stop while shopping at Friendly, an outing for drinks with friends and family, or enjoy live music and special events throughout the week and month. Something for everyone!

My spouse and I are staying at a local Airbnb in town about five minutes from here and it was a…read morerainy evening so we wanted to grab a bottle of wine or two. I headed to watering can wines and I couldn't have possibly been more pleased with my experience. I expected to walk into a small wine shop, and instead I was greeted in a beautiful open marbled lobby space by two individuals serving tastings and glasses, as well as several tables of happy patrons, chatting, drinking, and snacking. I asked if it were possible to purchase some wine bottles and where that might be located and the most lovely woman I have ever met, Dianne, showed me the old wine shop space, the new space, and the temporary space while the new space is set to be open. I shared my wine preferences with Dianne, who then suggested I try the Merlot that they have at the tasting bar. She and her lovely male counterpart poured me a very generous tasting while telling me about the history of their shop and the wine that I was drinking. I asked to peruse the Merlot section a bit further, and after giving me some time to ponder, Dianne joined and discussed what may be the best option for me. Dianne was incredibly kind and generous in her helping me choose my selection. My spouse and I are happily trying our first bottle and excited to try the other. We plan to return to the airbnb we are at and are equally excited to return to watering can wines and see Dianne again! Hopeful to be able to stay and enjoy a glass on sight next time! (Sorry for the lack of pictures, it was rainy and I left my phone in the car!)

So parking is very limited but worth the trouble to stop in for a nice variety of wines in a busy, cozy, unique tavern. They have friendly staff that serve at and around the bar and tables in a effortless manner that amazes me when the place is hopping. I did not have to wait long to place my request or receive same. I inquired about the wine tasting for $5.00 and was told you would receive 2 tastings of white wine. Perhaps they do reds on a different night but I didn't ask. There is a written wine list of reds and whites to order full glasses of whites or reds which should suffice. I asked folks what they were drinking and there were many red wine-o's ha ha. The Bordeaux drinkers were happy with their choice and the Malbec drinkers were satisfied with their choice and commented the wine was soft. I chose a cold Chenin Blanc mostly cuz I haven't seen it on a menu in the Triad for quite some time. It was quite good great nose of sweetness but dry enough to be a good all round table wine. Its similar to Pinot Gregio but not dry or tart. I think when I'm back in GSO I will stop in to this unique wine bar again as it was a nice experience and everyone seemed very chill and friendly.
