We went in because they keep getting more husband's order wrong. I stopped at the bathroom. I noticed the horrible odor immediately then I was shocked to see feces all over the toilets and floor. I left immediately and reported it. The employee shrugged and went back to refilling the ice. When I spoke to the manager on duty she kept glancing at her watch before excusing herself and going to the back and not returning. When I got home my husband's order was correct but mine looked like it had been thrown in the container. It was a complete mess. I am not going back. read more

asked for some chicken nuggets, Cajun fries and a sweet tea with honey mustard did not get any honey mustard. The Cajun fries were seasoned with dreams (no seasoning) when we asked for chicken nuggets they offered chicken tenders. Nobody wants chicken tenders when they're asking for chicken nuggets. Blanca is the one that took the order and she has horrible listening skills. we went through the drive-through will not be coming back to this location even if it's the last place on earth that has food. read more

They don't know how to get an order correct. You can order Carmel and be give peanut butter. Manager has no respect for customers either.

Milkshakes are amazing. Food was just ok. You get a lot for your money. No inside seating so you either in in the lot or take home.

Normally I love Cook Out, but today, I'll rethink my choices there. Had an order for 4 people, and they surprisingly got everything correct. But, the grilled chicken was paltry at best. Tasted great, but it was half the size it normally is. We got 2 grilled chicken sandwiches, and both were the same size. Not worth the money. I'll still go there, but I'll go down the road to Dixie Express if I want a chicken sandwich (or chili, or breaded fries). read more

I LOVE Cookout!...but this one is the only bad one. Perhaps it was because they were closing in a half hour and we were the only car there? However, my money is worth the same whether it's 30 mins after opening or 30 mins to close. We got 5 of the $4.99 combo meals. 1) Hotdogs w/ hushpuppies & fries, shake. The bun was great! So was the shake! BUT, The hotdog was like rubbery leather & the fries, withered hard & barely warm...heat lamp dries food out, clearly was sitting for way too long after being prepared. The dog enjoyed them, until the diarrhea started 2) 2 meals were w/ 1/4 burger, one with fries & onion rings & one with fries & slaw. The burger, yuck-o! Heat lamped to jerky, flavorless patty, with an abundance of liquid cheddar cheese, perhaps to rehydrate the patty turned hockey puck that shot of the bun with the first bite. Look like me hand had a diaper accident...too bad we forgot to double check for napkins...NONE. The fries, blah, the slaw missing, onion rings..well the 4 in the bag were, well...same as the fries. I won't go on....it was plain terrible. The shakes were good! $25 + for 5 shakes though. No bueno! read more

Really nice location. Pretty busy today and the staff held up very well. They seemed to be working in sync. The food was prepared quickly and tasted great. The restaurant was clean and stocked well. The bathrooms could use some touch up. Otherwise this is a great location to stop by! read more

Cook Out is one of the biggest things I missed after moving away from North Carolina. The burgers here are fantastic and cheap. Today I got a 1/4 lb. burger, fries and some chicken nuggets and a shake for a little over $5. The shakes are really think and easier to eat with a spoon than drink with a straw. read more

This location consistently delivers fabulous food and milkshakes with a very friendly staff. I've been surprised to find that different Cook Outs vary in pricing, but this one has the lowest prices I've seen around the area. And what's so nice about this Cook Out -- they have a large dine-in area! They offer one drive-thru line, or you can go inside and order at the counter and sit down to eat! They are always very busy, but quick to clean tables off when they become available. We've never had a problem with seating. Will happily be a returning customer! read more

When i get there i would order me a big double cheeseburger cookout style consisting of mustard, chili, slaw, and chopped onions Then for my side i would get me some cajun fries mmmm mmm mmm Then to wash it down with a shake..y'all know y'all can't go there without getting that concrete slab shake. This place is a little Gem!!!! Super cheap, they give you a great amount of food for the money, and its very tasty!!! I had the BBQ plate (chopped, slaw, fries, & hush puppies) and I was feeling pretty good after cleaning the plate. Cost me $4.27!!!!!! They also have some serious milkshakes too. They've messed up my order the last 4 times I've gone , no lettuce on the ranch wrap and the chicken looks like a chicken nugget . I would give it less stars if possible. I normally love a nice cook out tray, have even argued it over In N Out in the past, but this was one of the worst experiences I've had in a restaurant. First up, line was super long, no biggie it's popular, that's a good thing. However they had one lady at the register for 15 minutes. This is a fast food restaurant, how the F does it take that long to get an order? Probably equally the fault of employee and customer there, I will give CO a pass here. However after FINALLY placing order it took far too long to get the order out, we are talking 15-20 minutes, again this is supposed to be fast food guys, come on, do better. So after all that time, the order is OF COURSE wrong. Onion allergy... covered in onions, super. Additionally you'll have to wait forever for the wrong order surrounded by some of the most disgusting human beings I've laid eyes on ever, what the hell is happening in Asheboro? Ok so I don't live in Asheboro. I maybe go here like once a month. I'm not expecting a fancy plate of food or exceptional service. If I want all that, I'll drive 5 minutes down the road to Applebee's since this is such a poppin town. What I do expect, oddly enough, is to go through a drive thru since I'm too lazy and antisocial to walk in to the walkin cookout, order my food, specifically annunciating the difficult parts like "plain sandwich" since I like to live wild and crazy and feel like my food should reflect my personality, plain but spicy, drive up to the happy little window, give them my credit card since a lot of poor financial decisions have been made in my life and drive off with the appropriate food that I can shovel into my facemouth with mixed feelings of regret and joy. What I got however was not even close to this. My food was wrong. Now I have to get out and let them know that mayonnaise is terrible and I don't want veggies on my meat and bread sandwich. What am I? Some spiritual soul searching vegan hippie? So I flip the ole car around back into the parking lot, strut myself in there and let em know they done did wrong by me. No sorry, no apology, no complimentary "hey sorry we've interrupted your sedentary food reception and made you walk 20 feet into the walk-in cookout so here's a fry on us since you're so handsome." Nothing. Just a corrected sandwich handed to me in a little bag that tells me I need to go read the Old Testament more. So why write this review? Well I'll tell you why inquisitive review reader. Because cookout should not be allowed to get away with this. What if I had driven off? What then? How am I supposed to eat this slob they gave me? Mayonnaise!? Good lord why? This has happened to me every single time I've gone here. Something was off and you know what ladies and gentlemen? I'll be back. Why? Because it's cookout and no matter how many times they get my food wrong, their saving grace is that they are not McDonald's or Burger King and the options here are so slim. So very very slim. My husband and I stopped by this Cook Out location for lunch during a road trip/vacation. The store was pretty busy when we arrived but the staff worked very quickly and our order was prepared and ready very fast! The food tasted great and the dining area was clean. The only downfall was the bathrooms were very small and not so clean. They could have used a nice cleaning. The highlight was the unique "cabin" style tables and chairs in the dining area. I stopped by here last night on the way back to my hotel - big mistake. It was late, after midnight with a winter storm approaching, so maybe they were understaffed but the burger was dismal, easily the worst burger I can recall ever eating, and that speaks volumes. I ordered the "Huge" burger, Cheddar Style, which means grilled onions, bacon and some sort of cheese sauce are on the burger. Fine, love all those things. What I didn't love were the two hockey pucks on a bun that tried to pass as hamburgers and overcooked bacon as tough as old shoe leather. I've never had tough bacon... quite a trick there. I thought I was ordering a 1/2 lb burger, not the 2 quarter pounders I had the misfortune to find in the bun, which is more confusing since there is also a double burger option although no weight is given for it on the menu. Is the 1/3 pounder two 1/6 patties? If I had wanted a double burger I would have ordered one. I guess you have to be an insider to know this. I've eaten at Cook Out in other locations years ago and found the burgers good but when I got to my room I found this burger to be less than edible and let me tell you, El Lunchador has eaten some questionable food in his time. Not this time, though. Ugh... The onion rings were fine, quite good to be honest and the saving grace to an otherwise horrid meal. I've read the shakes are very good and maybe that's what keeps them a "float" (yuk yuk), but the name of the business is Cook Out, not Shake Out... I wanted a burger and this place delivered! I got the chedder and it was everything my taste buds desired. My hubs however got the "Big Double" and it had 2 small flat pathetic patties smaller than my one. Ridiculous. The cheddar fries were ok, dry bland fries covered in cheddar cheese. Onion rings were good. The hush puppies were great, not over fried like some places. My daughters quesadilla had spicy sauce on it, needed it removed. My sons hot dog was petrified, the corndogs were ok. The shakes/malts DELICIOUS!, we ordered four. Will go back again if ever in the area. read more

I was on vacation and this was my first time ever to their establishment. Their milkshakes are da bomb!! Seasonal shakes of different flavors like in July and August they have a watermelon milkshake with actual chunks of it that you can't suck it through a straw! Their burgers really do taste home cooked. There are meals that consist of the main course 2 sides and a milkshake all for one set price. Was slightly upset the chicken nugget side only had 4 nuggets but still good value for the money. Also depending on what toppings you want for your food they charge seperately like cheese is an extra $.40, etc. They even have a speedy drive through service as well. read more

I went to Cookout a few months back for my daughter and I ended up getting a hamburger too. My hamburger was burnt and full of charred bits. They should call it cancer burger. The young people working there at the counter seemed very nice, and since I don't eat there a lot I remember asking a question about the food before placing my order and mentioning that I preferred food without anything burnt on it. So the impression I came away with is that maybe they deliberately did this to my food, as a sick kind of joke. My daughter's hamburger was not charred. I was nothing but polite to them. read more
