We don't have any in San Antonio (yet), but whenever I run into one, I head in for a anytime breakfast. As soon as I sat down my drink order was taken. The coffee was both fresh, hot, and bottomless. I ordered the Texan Bacon Melt plate. You can switch out the bacon for sausage or ham - but why would anybody do that? The plate comes with hash, but I added on everything they could throw into it (onions, tomatoes, mushroom tops, chili, etc) - they call it all the way. It was quite a meal for 9 p.m., I only had enough room for two cups of coffee. This place is cleaned regularly, and has it's own parking lot. I went to this Waffle House this Friday morning. I ordered to go which adds an extra $5 to the order. I ordered two All Star breakfasts. When I get home there is no meat in either order. I tried to call to work something out but all I got was a recording. So I have to drive 20 minutes back to the restaurant. The food was obviously cold by now and they offered me no decent alternative but to get my money back. The manager would not even come out of their hiding place to address my complaint. So we do not have Waffle Houses in the majority of the crunchy. Thus, every time I am in the vicinity of one, I make it a point to stop. This particular one is located directly across from the Lee's. Fairly small parking lot, but it was pretty empty on a Thursday afternoon. Therefore, parking was abundant. There had to be maybe three workers total and two other diners. I was a little unsure where to go (awkwardly standing like a crazy person) but I was told to sit anywhere. Look, the interior is super dingy, the floor sticks when you walk, and there is a random juke box. This could've lead to food poisoning or one of the best dining experiences ever. Well considering the location, this was the latter. I ordered a pecan waffle and the sausage, egg, hash brown, and cheese bowl. Super amazing. Not bad at all. Would I come here again? It's your typical Waffle House. Sticky menus and friendly service. The food is nothing out of this world, but it's always good! And usually pretty quick! Perfect place for nursing a hangover! The prices seem to fluctuate even though we usually order the same exact thing. The variance isn't huge though, so we've never bothered asking. On our first visit, the kitchen didn't seem to be very well managed. It was a busy day, so I'm sure that was the cause. We asked for extra toast 3 times, and it never came. I know it's Waffle House and I shouldn't expect much but everyone say there and watched the cook be rude to the lady that was calling out orders. The cook was a short female with a tattooed sleeve, had glasses and a Bull ring in her nose. The worst part about it is we all watched her prepare several meals touching raw meet, vegetables, breads, utensils, and door knobs all while wearing the same pair of plastic gloves. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE...I came into the restaurant this morning at 7 am 1/16/23 to place a togo order it wasn't to busy, but I waited 15 minutes and not one word was said to me by any employee. Continually dirty, poor service, cold food and hit or miss on order accuracy shows that either management doesn't care or is poorly run. This location is probably the worst I have ever been in. These conditions are not at any set hour, so one cannot say it's the bar crowd or it's packed out and tough to keep up. The staff seem to act like they just don't care. Went there Sunday 10 June. about 8 pm staff was friendly but some guy walked in with long hair tattoos . wH baseball hat. started rtell the staff he was going to fire everyone if they messed with the TV. he had some friends come in and gave them free coffee. went to the back and then walked out. over heard some of the conversation . I think it was about buying drugs.or they did and exchange. I asked our waiter who this guy is raising a ruckus and sh said he was the 3rd shift cook. I told her to please have our cook. fix our dinner. the grill was down. for about 10 min. there were no name tags except the young lady mopping and sweeping the floor. the attitude went from friendly to quiet. the food was good. the cook was a African american she was great. the other guy 3rd shift person cook, seemed to keep on her case for no reason. i felt as though i should talk to him but did not. I talk to a lot of my friends. bout my experience. and they told me not to go there when he is cooking because he has an attitude. and does not cook what you want but what he thinks you want. seeing this and hearing about this from my friends I dont think could tell my night shift friend exp my truck driver to eat there a 9 pm. read more
