The first thing I noticed was the huge change that continually occurs while I'm absent. I remember when I first left, the best place to eat was Mom's & G-Moms. Then it was your friend's house- sometimes. I'm from Kentucky. Well, I was introduced to another house, called The Fish House & Grill. This clean and cheerful place with the aroma of grilled, boiled and fried seafood with its seasoning filling the air. Full, but not standing room only, because it rained earlier and weather can be unpredictable at times. But we, a party of 5, were happy as we captured a picnic bench style table to fit all comfortably. We grabbed menus from the cashier and sat down to discuss the menu. I ordered the grilled red snapper and fried chicken gizzards with coleslaw. 15-20 minutes later, steaming hot containers were being brought to the table, aroma AMAZING! The snapper flaked with each fork cut into delicious bite sized melt in your mouth, slap your mamma, mouthfuls. But, I didn't, she was there!!! So I enjoyed every single bite of each and samples of others. I'm adding The Fish House and Grill to the houses I will always eat at in the country!!!

Once you take off the shrimp shell, there went the seasoning. As you can see in the second picture the potatoes were dry, very dry. Most of the dish, I actually threw out since I just didn't enjoy the taste or texture of the meal.

The food was pretty good. There's two things I would list as downsides, however. The first is that the wait for service was pretty long. It was quite a long wait from when I ordered until I got my food. That's a minor downside, given the quality. I got the picture they might not have a robust back-of-house staff. The second, and bigger downside is. . .I didn't go there expecting a seafood place! The well-worn sign out front still says "Deez Butts" BBQ, and I'd followed signs from the freeway exit thinking I was going to a barbecue joint. When I stepped inside, I pieced together as I was standing in line that the BBQ had closed and this was now a seafood place. It was good food, but I was expecting barbecue and was too hungry to bother hunting for another place to eat. I was left wondering if they couldn't afford to change the (well worn) sign out front. It just seemed a little odd that the sign out front is for a barbecue joint, but it's a seafood place inside.
