Outdoor seating area and easy access inside.

This little place knows how to make a good pita sandwich! I especially loved the hummus and tomatoes and the chicken was tasty. Parking was easy and it's clean inside. Coming from out of town, it seems like a popular local place, which is always a good sign. The service was friendly and efficient. I recommend Woo Hoo.

Sparta Plate with gyro and chicken gyro
Yun-Wen L.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - ordered a Sparta Plate with gyro and chicken gyro and a Rice Plate with lamb kebab and gyro. The food tasted very clean overall. The gyro was quite good but the chicken gyro not so much. The lamb kebab was seasoned well but on the drier side. Not sure why the greek salad was so sour but it didn't taste quite right to us so we didn't finish it. Service: 5/5 - friendly overall but some confusion since someone with the same name placed a order a few minutes prior to us Ambiance: n/a - ordered food to go. Music came from just one speaker by the kitchen and it was quite crowded with consistent traffic in during lunch time. Value for price: 3/5 - note that the main menu doesn't have prices on it so you'll have to grab a paper menu to check. Decent food overall but the serving size was a bit smaller than we expected.

Chicken Shawarma, gyro meat, Baklava

1000/10 I was coming through town on my way home from Paddling for Suicide awareness (great group of people btw. The smell when you walk in is amazing. & Talia is a star. She was the most helpful & kind & just had such a beautiful spirit. She made me feel like I had picked the right place. Then the food. Best shawarma I've ever had! & I got a side of gyro meat for the lil dog & I had to have some. Everything was just so good! I won't be able to come back thru Etown without stopping here. EAT HERE! You won't regret it

Falafel and Fries Hummus pita chips

Was staying a night in town and ate here. Great for vegetarian options. Me and my dad both got "Falafel & fries" on the menu, but instead of fries I got red pepper hummus with pita chips. They have dif kinds of hummus and it's all homemade. He subbed his fries for greek salad and said was very good. Could tell the olives were fresh and not out of a jar. My mom got Crispy Chicken Aioli without the aioli and subbed her fries for fried pickles, and really liked all of it. The cashier was very patient with us ordering, as we were slow ha. Good at telling us the different options. Good space inside. Not hardly anyone there, but was only a few nights before Christmas so not too surprising. I appreciated how the food wasn't overly salty, as that's my most common problem with Mediterranean restaurants. Will be back if it's open when I pass by Elizabethtown in future!

Gyro and Fries Sandwich

In the mood for a gyro, I had remembered this place and decided to finally try it. My roommate and I were in town and stopped here for lunch. You order prior to sitting down. The menu is posted on the wall and there is plenty to choose from. I normally opt for a chicken schwarma, but I decided to go with the lamb gyro. My roomie and I grabbed drinks and sat down. There is plenty of seating inside to choose from. Our food was brought out hot, fresh, and smelled divine. The gyro looked cooked to perfection, topped with all the fixings. On the side came piping hot French fries. First bite, full of flavor and meat melted in your mouth. The tzatziki complimented perfectly, along with the piping hot fries. Everything was delicious, staff amazing, chefs wonderful! I highly recommend checking this place out!

Upon walking inside is a beautiful, peacefully lit shop with clean tables and very friendly faces. I told her I'd never eaten there before. I was INSTANTLY greeted and assisted with my menu choice. She even let me taste test the meat AND the sauce. I ordered the normal gyro with fries, I added feta cheese (a customer favorite) The meat was very tender, and the sauce is very light. I'm a very pro-sandwhich anything, so naturally I kind of knew I'd love this. It was nicely wrapped in tin foil (which I bit into multiple times devouring this) every bite is a beautiful array of flavors of tender meat, juicy tomato and crisp, fresh lettuce and onion. Not to mention adding feta was amazing, every now and then it's just a flavor explosion. The fries were basic frozen fries with some nice seasoning. They're still yummy and pair nice with the sandwhich. Gyro: OOOOO Fries: OXXXX Sauce: OOOXX Environment :OOOXX Service:OOOOO

You have no idea the obsession I have with falafel! I've been meaning to try woohoo for years now, not sure why I'm just getting around to it. It was wonderful! The falafel had a great crisp with a soft inside, very filling sandwich- I only finished about 3/4ths of it before I put it away! The seasoning on the fires were

Ran down from Ft Knox for a lunch. Neat little location in an old gas station. Simply but nicely decorated and comfortable. We ordered gyro plates with fries and a side of Spanakopitas. My buddy is Greek and grew up eating ethnic - he was pleasantly surprised at the quality and originality of food. Great flavor and all fresh. Not the best tzatziki in the world (too thick with more cream than seasoning), but that was the only issue. Of note - extremely friendly and professional staff who were very welcoming and immediately offered to help navigate the menu with suggestions. Food - 4.5 / 5 Prices - 4 / 5 Location - 4 / 5 Service - 5 / 5 Great lunch and will go back.

I think there is a price difference of a couple dollars. The portion of gyro meat with both the sandwich and the platter is very generous. I actually got two meals off the platter. The place is small but it's big enough and bright and clean. The owner is super friendly, but since they're preparing things as you order, service isn't the fastest but maybe that's better. He prepared the fries and my chicken wings to order as well as the meat whether it be lamb or chicken. In addition to chicken and lamb gyros, they have a variety of platters; kofta, falafel, shawarma, grilled shrimp and Philly beef. Don't know about the last one, I guess it could be good. The lamb tasted great, no gaminess at all, the vegetables were fresh and the tzatziki sauce tied everything together for a delicious bite. The rice and salad were great compliments to my gyro platter. On an impulse, I got the wings, and after one bite was ecstatic that I did. They did not look like they were gonna be good and maybe to others they may not be. I think they're frozen out of a big bag, pre-made just need to throw it in the fryer for a few minutes. Anyway it had this weird orange hue to it just like the friend chicken from Pioneer Chicken . If you grew up on the west coast or Hawaii that was the competing friend chicken chain to KFC. I think there's only one restaurant left in Los Angeles. This fried chicken still haunts my dreams, I have half a mind to road trip it to California for a family pack of delicious fried chicken. Sorry, I digress. Anyway this fried chicken wings tasted a whole lot like Pioneer Chicken. As I started this review, best gyros in the area, plus their rice wrapped in grape leaves and the baklava were very good.

One must adjust expectations depending on the situation. I had the chicken souvlaki platter, which is essentially a kebab. It comes with a nice fresh Greek salad, rice, and tzatziki sauce. Not exactly juicy, not exactly dry, but not bad. My companion had the mousasaka, which is layered eggplant, potatoes, and meat sauce topped with Bechemel cream. Also comes with rice and the salad. We also had the fries, which are not the typical you see in Greek restaurants. Rather than the crispy crunchy fries with the golden outside, these almost seem air fried. But they were light and airy and we enjoyed them. This restaurant also serves gyro, falafel, spanakopita, hummus and pita, a Greek burger. The reason this place is called Greek-American is because they also serve cheeseburgers, fried chicken, fish, Reubens and BLTs, steaks, salmon, etc. I wish they would focus on just Greek food and make that better, but I understand that is probably tough in a place like Danville. They probably have to have other cuisine options to stay afloat. The service was very kind and attentive and the restaurant is super bright and clean. My friend said it was better than the last time she ate it. She also agrees that this is a, "good for what it is" selection.

Anna's Is the Foundation for My Love of Food…read more I first walked into Anna's in 2007 at the old location on Three Springs Rd. I was a 21 y/o small-town Kentucky kid whose culinary range extended to chicken tenders and French fries. I had no real curiosity about other cultures through food. I wasn't looking for adventure. I just wanted dinner. Then I took my first real date there. We ordered the lamb gyro, saganaki, and tzatziki. I still remember that saganaki arriving and the server screaming "OPA!", as it hit the table. That meal changed something in me. It was my first true cultural food experience, and it expanded my imagination in a way I didn't even understand at the time. From that point on, I went almost weekly. Everything Anna touches is gold. There is intention in the flavors, pride in the execution, and warmth in the experience. One night around 2010, I was the only customer in the restaurant. Vilson was serving me. I confidently ordered a White Zinfandel. He laughed and said, "Oh, some sweet tea with a bit of alcohol in it, eh?" Then he brought me a glass of Greek wine on the house instead. That small moment meant more than he probably realized. It was my invitation to GROW. I live in Seattle now. I've become an Elite Yelp reviewer and spend much of my time exploring restaurants, chefs, and cuisines from all around the world. I seek out bold flavors. I travel for food. I write about it constantly. And yet- twice a year, every year, when I return home to Kentucky, there is one place I always make sure to visit: Anna's. Always. Because this is where it started. If you read my Yelp bio, you'll see that saganaki from Anna's has been listed as my "last meal" choice since the day I created my account. That isn't nostalgia. That's impact. Anna and Vilson didn't just open a restaurant. They ignited a lifelong passion in a 21-year-old country boy who didn't know what he was missing. Some restaurants feed you. A few change you. Anna's changed me. Forever grateful.
