Cute place and very clean. Went for breakfast and food was good. But my wife wasn't able to eat…read morebecause her food had an ingredient in it that she was allergic to. When we confirmed with the waitress it did have that ingredient, the waitress shrugged and said sorry while walking away. It was a skillet so there was no picking around anything. Never offered to remake or anything. She did ask if we wanted a box to take it home. Unimpressed with the lack of customer service. (But the gentlemen bussing tables was very attentive and sweet!)

We sat at the bar because it was still pretty packed. The place was fun - the service was a bit silly in a good way. Great cocktails. Great ambiance and decor. My bourbon-grilled pork chops were fantastic. Good cornbread. Green beans were fantastic. The fried apples were just okay - a bit on the dry side. My friend's chicken and waffles looked amazing. Another friend's ribeye looked a bit overdone to me, but he seemed to like it. I wish the souvenir store was still open when we were there (it closed at 6pm) because I would have liked to bring home a trinket or shirt. Maybe upon next visit - because I will definitely eat here again the next time I'm in Bardstown. Make it a priority to stop in!

The ambiance was wonderful for a date...dimly lit, seated off in a corner, and history all around. We were seated quickly and met by the friendliest server we had on this trip. We had the catfish and Cornish hen and both were wonderful! The house made chips that came with the catfish were better than could have been imagined. We wrapped thermal up with house made cheesecake and it didn't disappoint either! I would highly recommend Toogie's if you are in Bardstown!

This place really did not impress us. We came here for a joint anniversary dinner with my husband,…read moreand his aunt, uncle, and younger cousins. Hubby's family had been and had emphatically recommended it. This plus the great reviews and awesome looking pictures had us very excited. We started with the country ham hush puppies, the Caesar, and the mac and cheese. The salad and mac and cheese were alright, but we were really trying to mental gymnastics our way into believing that the hush puppies were great. For my entree, nothing was especially calling my name, so I settled on the gnocchi with added chicken. It was a very meh dish, and the chicken seemed like it was just added thoughtlessly, as opposed to pairing with the dish harmoniously. My husband got the catfish, which he said was fine. Aunt got the meatloaf, which was also fine but nothing to write home about either. The real winners were the little cousins who got burgers. These were simple but not bad by any means. The locale is really beautiful and definitely worthy of a special occasion. Love the two levels and the elevated tavern feel. The staff was great and super helpful and friendly. Overall, we likely won't be back, as we feel we can get a comparable experience elsewhere for the price, with likely better food. But go see for yourself! The menu looks like it changes, maybe we came at an off season.

We also got to look at the special whiskey library which was neat (pun not intended). We stayed for lunch and it was somehow / possibly even better than the whiskey!! Will was our server and he was the man! Soo attentive and friendly (give this man a raise!). We shared some apps - the chicken egg rolls and Brussel sprouts. For my main I got the Chef special which was the gumbo.. so good.

Greg did an excellent job walking us through how to properly smell and taste the bourbon, which really set the tone for the rest of the experience. The flow of the tour was very well thought out. One standout detail was the use of headsets--something more distilleries should do--because you could actually hear everything clearly no matter where you were standing. Small thing, but it made a big difference. I also really appreciated the mat placed over the grates. As someone who isn't a fan of heights, that thoughtful touch made the experience much more comfortable. A highlight was the stop at the rickhouse, especially the owner's private room with the Versace table--definitely a unique touch. Getting to thief straight from the barrel was a fantastic experience and really capped things off. Overall, very well done and a memorable visit.
