Do not go here if you'd like to avoid salmonella and/or E. Coli poisoning. I had the pleasure of getting the full view of the cook staff while I was trying to enjoy my breakfast... I heard someone say "chicken" and then I tragically watched as the lady in charge of the bacon and sausage area, grab a container of raw chicken breast, then grab the chicken with her bare hands and place it on the grill. She then proceeded to go right back to her work station where she grabbed spatulas and other utensils to continue cooking. A few minutes later, I watched her grab raw ground beef, plop that onto the grill, and then grab a clean plate and placed someone's cooked sausage patties onto it. read more

Wow such a racist customer service!!! we came here with some friends to get some coffee due it was the only place open and STEPHEN (waiter) was literally in front of us and ignored us for 5min. We came out as we felt bad standing there when everyone on the crew was ignoring us and as soon as we came out he started talking with a lady and laughing. This has never happened to me. I'm a tried and true Waffle House fan. Seriously though I haven't visited in a long time so while traveling to our cruise in Mobile we stopped overnight at our condo in Miramar Beach. This Waffle House is right across the street so it was an easy choice for breakfast. I ordered two eggs over medium and bacon. My husband ordered the Chicken and Egg plate and ordered his hash browns scattered, covered and peppered. We both ordered water. My husband (being an expert at the Waffle House food call) knew immediately that the waitress had not called his meal correctly (mainly his hash browns). He let her know and she told them covered (still not peppered). He let the cook know immediately and they added the peppers. By the time I was done with my meal his chicken was about 3 minutes until it was ready. By the time he received it he said it didn't taste right....so all that waiting to just take two bites and we paid and were on our way. I get it and give mad props to all of the staff that works all night to make delicious food for drunk diners but at 9am on a Thursday morning with only 2 other guests...I expected a little more in the quick and correct department. Since I am more judgmental that time of day, I'll save my visits to this location for when I'm drunk :)! read more

This is easily the best Waffle House we have ever been to, and between myself and the Fiance, we have been to a LOT of WH's. The staff consists of a lot of young kids learning the art of customer service, and a couple if really patient and kind managers teaching them life skills. The place was calm, clean and pleasant - a world of difference from the drama of WHs in GA. Our food came out just right, our coffee was refilled as needed and everyone was just so darn nice. We even saw a manager comp an entire meal for a couple because she (the manager) felt their food took too long to come out. When she informed the teenage waitress not to charge for that meal, the poor girl's eyes widened as though she felt like she messed up. The manager let her know it wasn't her fault, that it was her own, and the girl breathed a sigh if relief. Kudos to the management for teaching these kids what true customer service means in a kind way - their attitudes transcend into a wonderful environment that I'm certain I will never experience at another Waffle House again. read more

You go for the experience. Food was average. It's fun to see them running around, but don't go if it's too busy. Not worth it.

We were quite literally the only customers in the entire store and it still took them ten minutes to get to our table.... They were quite busy talking to each other and running around behind the counter. Had a menu that was covered in syrup that made me question the efforts to even run a dirty rag over the table. The eggs were runny, the grits were hard, the bacon didn't even look like bacon it was black, the staff was just sitting in the back while only one girl was in the front. I went to this waffle house at 8:45am. I like to sit at the high bar counter due to a bad back. 8:45 5 of five seats taken. 4 guys with coffee cups and one with a plate. I have other errands I thought, let me check back. 9:30 5 of 5 seats taken. 4 of 5 are the same guys as before. Curiously they only have coffee cups in front of them still. Let me run to the gym next and I will come back I thought. 10:15 5 of 5 seats taken and you guessed it, 4 of the 5 are the same group drinking coffee. I guess there is no room for people who actually eat food in this restaurant. Management should step up and enforce some type of no loitering policy. So instead of eating breakfast today, here is a review instead. Tastes good. As good as an endless cup of coffee drank by a waffle house loiterer. I won't be back soon. read more

I thought nothing of it until by necessity we were forced to loiter on the outskirts of Destin, FL at 4:30 AM. We figured as good a time as any for bfast and that quite fortunately led us to Waffle House. This place rocks. We went back 3 times in 3 days! The service is very friendly and speedy. Open kitchen so you can see them griddle your order fresh. Just like any other diner for bfast but the food is cheap, quick and easy. Loved ordering piecemeal bfast with sides and egg biscuit sammys and biscuits and gravy etc... my bfast personal bfast heaven. This was my very first visit to a Waffle House, ever. I have heard mixed reviews in general, but I have to say, I was very pleased. You don't go there expecting a beautiful place, but the food is so good you don' care. My only complaint would be they didn't have someone walking around with coffee to refill. This place has really gone down over the past few years. My family and I vacation in the Destin area at least once a year and have stopped at this waffle house each time, and this past trip we stopped in on our last day. The staff was a little crazy, strange what ever you want to say, but most importantly, the place was dirty. One of the servers was cleaning the benches with the broom she just used to sweep the floor. My adult children sat at a different table than us, but said there were ants on there table, and then the straw that broke the camels back and maybe turned me off for all waffle houses is their server had a cut on her finger that was covered with a band aid and when my son's meal arrived there was blood on the plate that had leaked through the band aid..... gross! The server was very apologetic, he sent his meal back and she did not charge us for that one meal, but no one else at the table could eat and the whole ticket should have been comped.
