When we first walked in, it was crowded but they told us the wait time would be about 10 to 15 minutes and we were probably seated in less than that. The food was good. I had a half of a waffle shaped like a flower, scrambled eggs, bacon and hash browns. My daughter had eggs, bacon, home fries and chocolate chip pancakes. Hubby had a sandwich with avocado, egg and bacon on sourdough with home fries that he said was good. The food was great and so was the service.

My husband stopped here for breakfast for us, and I am glad that he did. The food was fresh and flavorful. My husband said I must've really liked my eggs because I didn't even ask to add hot sauce to them. My husband had a build your own omelette and he said that it was very good. My youngest son had a Belgian waffle and he said that it was divine. This is definitely a place. We will revisit when we're back in the area.

I placed our order online and the promised time was 7:16am. I arrived about 7:30am and it seems they never saw my order. The waitress looked at the tablet and found my order. She "put it in" and apologized. She said it shouldn't take long. I waited about 15 minutes for our food. The hot and honey chicken was pretty good and the waffles were tasty. I just wished they were on top of the online orders better.

3 stars! My husband enjoyed his bacon avocado sandwich meal. I ordered chicken and waffles. The chicken had no seasoning and was so tough. The waffle was probably cooked way before everything else. It was so cold that the pat of butter never melted at all when I was putting the chicken in a to go box. This place is quite busy, so the wait wasn't bad based on the amount of people. Took about 35-40 minutes to get our food after ordering. If I wait that long, I expect at least a warm waffle! My husband did have to ask for a refill on coffee, because the server never came back to check on us, which is why I couldn't ask for a Warm waffle (understand that they cook off as soon as you take them from the waffle iron, but should have been warm enough when it was removed to melt some of the butter). Presentation was good!

We spent so much time looking at the menu trying to decide what to order. Everything looked amazing. Spoiler alert - everything WAS amazing! Not one single complaint. We ate here while on vacation. We already want to go back again tomorrow! Great prices, great service, excellent food. I wish we had one of these in Mobile, AL!

The sausage patties are over cooked but again the hashbrowns are awesome. This impeller was great with good salads and they had a great sausage gravy.

Stopped here for breakfast on 4th of July prior to heading to the beach. We did not have to wait for a table and were sat right away. The food was a normal American style breakfast.

Nice family styled restaurant while I was driving through Ft Walton the catchy name grabbed my attention. Turned around and gave it a go. Breakfast is their thing so figured we would sample their sandwiches and salads. The burger and fries were solid though a bit greasy. The Chicken Quesadilla was okay but greasy again. The winner was the grilled chicken salad with bacon and cheese on it. Overall a friendly staff though our server Victoria wasn't very engaging. Asked her if she had suggestions and what sold best, and she wasn't very engaging, just said whatever you feel like. Was looking for direction. Once the food came she disappeared, but the other servers jumped in and were more engaged with us. She came around to drop off the check but didn't ask how we enjoyed our lunch. Over all the food was good and service was decent. Next time I'll try another family spot when driving through. There's plenty along the route.

Quick service and overall a great experience. I ordered on the phone because I was on my way to work. They did great.

Southern Comfort combo

Omelet with grits and Southern Comfort combo. We passed on coffee because it was 3.99 a cup and not knowing if it was good I wasn't willing to pay 4. to see. Food: sausage had a great taste, pancakes were light/fluffy and good, grits after butter/salt/pepper were stirred in they were perfect, the omelette however has shredded cheese on top but appeared non were cooked in it so it fell apart when trying to eat it. Waitress was Stephanie and she checked on us a few times and was very pleasant.

We went in a group of 7 people for brunch. The coffee served there is provided by Starbucks, so nothing special to say about the drinks. Our dishes were: - Skirt steak hash $18 (delicious, everything on this plate was good but the eggs were perfect) - Angus burger $16 (just a burger like any other) - Western Omelet $16 (tasty and simple) - Floribama Benedict $18 (tasty and well-portioned). - Beignets $9 (5 pieces and honestly you can't call these beignets, the dough is super heavy and greasy, more like a cheap donut) Our service in general was good, one of the waitresses was nicer than the other. A positive point is that they offer complimentary parking.

My server was friendly and knowledgeable with the menu. She made several suggestions that were fantastic. The Bam Bam shrimp appetizer was really good and the fish tacos hit the spot. Where things got disappointing for me, is how long in between I saw her. From the time I finished eating to her checking in was over 20 minutes. I asked for the bill and it took an additional 15 minutes. Overall, the poor service detracted from what would have been an amazing experience.

But as the saying goes: never judge a book by its cover. We were absolutely blown away by the experience. Despite the modest exterior, the food is nothing short of world-class. I ordered the ribeye, and it was cooked to absolute perfection--tender, flavorful, and easily one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. Since we were a large group, we ended up ordering a significant portion of the menu. Between us, we tried the fish, shrimp, and various pasta plates. It felt like we sampled almost everything they offer, and every single dish was an absolute hit. It's rare to find a place where the entire table is equally impressed with their meal, but Basil & Baxter's pulled it off effortlessly. Beyond the incredible kitchen, the service was outstanding. The staff was attentive, welcoming, and handled our group with the kind of professionalism that makes a night out feel special. If you're in Niceville, do not pass this place up. It might look humble from the street, but the flavors and hospitality inside are massive. We will definitely be back!

They are always busy with tables and to go orders. There must of been new bartender. My husband and I had ordered the mock Butterfly and Lemonade drink we had previously and enjoyed. The first time we had it, it came out in a regular tall water glass. This time it came in a martini glass and the first sip was....OMG strong with liquor. We sent them back to get the nonalcoholic drinks and they came back in a whisky glass, not the taller water glass. Not sure if this was a mistake or they really raised their prices. The lemonade drink with a little color added to it is $7! But, the food is always delicious. My husband had the pot pie and it was the size of a regular 12 inch pie! I had the pork chop which was thick and tender. Some in our party love the bisque soup and order a bowl, which is huge. The cup size was more what we expect as a bowl size. The shrimp and grits is phenomenal too, which I have personally tried. Service is great and friendly. You are given a basket of delicious crusty warm buns comped but if you ask for more (which we did) note that they are .50 cents each. We will continue to visit this restaurant each winter while we are here.

I'd heard great things about this spot being a local go-to several years ago, so I was looking forward to a solid meal with our large group. Unfortunately, the experience just didn't live up to the reputation. It was exceptionally quiet--perhaps because it's the off-season--but even with the lack of a crowd, the food and service were underwhelming across the board. A lot of us ordered the burgers, and they were just "okay" at best. I went for the one topped with pulled pork, thinking it would be a highlight, but it really didn't work. The flavors didn't mesh, and it was a structural mess--the whole thing just broke apart and became a struggle to eat. Across our entire large group, I don't think anyone was super impressed with their meal. The service didn't help matters, either. We ordered several cocktails, and they were consistently either late or just plain wrong. Since it wasn't a very busy night, there wasn't really a clear reason for the lapse in attention. It's a shame because the setting is beautiful, but between the hit-or-miss drinks and the lackluster food, the whole night felt like it missed the mark.
