I ordered on Doordash after a long day of traveling! Very tasty food and was still hot! Burger was well seasoned. I'm moving to FWB next week, and I will be sure to visit in person! read more

Arrived in the middle of a Saturday. My granddaughter wanted a hamburger. Great hamburger menu. Large table for all of us to sit at with simple decor. We put in our order at the counter. Service was quick. Wow we were not disappointed. My granddaughter said it best. "This is hamburger heaven". What a great experience... read more

I wish establishments would focus on food other than politics. This does not affect the review at all. But I'm tired of all the we support this and that, how about make good food and take care of customers. Now the real reason for the visit. I wanted a good hamburger and some fries from a local place since I'm from out of town. This place has great reviews so here we go. Paper menus on the order counter, lots of combos they offer they take your order and of course want a tip for taking your order dumb. I got the bbq bacon burger no cheese just a personal reason. With onion rings that they make fresh. Hamburger cooked good and the onion rings were really good even though a little greasy. Nothing special about the beef and I got basically 1 strip of bacon. Definitely a 3 star as I'm not going out of my way to go here or recommend but if asked to go I would and try something different read more

After settling in at the hotel my family and I were looking for something to eat. We saw that CowHead was about a few minutes from the hotel, so we went there. Once we arrived at the restaurant it was a little busy. Once we were ready to order the staff that was helping us was very patient with everyone. I decided to order the Philly Chick Sandwich and Onion Rings. I love the onion rings they were flavorful and the batter they used for them was excellent. The Philly Chick Sandwich was just ok. It wasn't anything special. I think the chicken needed more seasoning. read more

Small place, very simple decor. Menu is small and straightforward. They have a decent selection of beer too. I ordered the prime rib burger and fries combo. This burger was smaller than expected, but what it lacks in size was made up in flavor. One of the best burgers I've had in a while. Wish I could get something like this close to me. The fries were your typical burger joint fries, nothing special. Our server was friendly and efficient too. Cowhead lives up to its name! read more

I've learned this area is not a foodie destination at all, but this is one of the only meals where the food was genuinely very good! The flavor was great, they gave a lot of good options from their specialties to building your own burger, and the food gets made and brought out quickly. The lady working the counter was so friendly and nice to talk with! This was a great chill spot to have dinner or lunch, it's convenient and cute but not over the top. One of few places in the Fort Walton Beach area that I'd actually want to revisit. read more

This was my first time visiting. The restaurant was quiet, with only one other group there, probably because it was around 3 p.m. The place was very clean, and even the restroom was well maintained. Out of the many menu options, I ordered the Juicy Lucy. I wasn't very hungry, so I shared it with my daughter. The burger was very juicy and delicious. For the side, we chose the tater tots, which were perfectly crispy and tasty. The portion size was generous--we couldn't even finish everything between the two of us. I'd love to come back and try other items on the menu next time. read more

It's a tad off the beaten path and can be a little hard to find parking -- but it's worth it! Located in a very charming and historic area - this burger joint didn't disappoint! The atmosphere is fun and eclectic with and open kitchen concept. It's fun to see the kitchen in action! The tables were clean and overall has a fun vibe to it. Service was friendly, accommodating to special requests, and knowledgeable of the menu. The food was fantastic. Hands down one of the best burgers I've eaten on the emerald coast! The tots were equally amazing and perfectly cooked with a crunch outside and creamy inside texture. And you can't go wrong with one of their shakes - it was tasty as well! So if you're in the area and want to know where the best burger is located - it's here - at Cowhead! read more

Small little place with great food! My husband and kids went to this place looking for a good burger, and that exactly what we found. The asiago garlic fries were amazing too! We also tried the pimento cheese bombs, I highly recommend. Overall it was a great experience. The girl working the counter was very helpful and helped us find the perfect burger for us. If you're looking for a sandwich and are in area, I recommend you try this place! read more

We were greeted as soon as we walked in the front door. We ordered at the counter and sat down in a booth. I'm gonna give 5 stars on the shake alone! My Hubbs ordered a strawberry shake with his dinner and it is so good! Remember the scene in Pulp Fiction when Vincent asks Mia about the $5 shake...well this one is that good! Now that that's out of the way I'll tell ya about the food. We ordered bacon cheeseburger egg rolls to share and the are so good! I had the Cali with grilled chicken instead of a burger and the avocado spread was plentiful, most places they use it sparingly. And the fries were tasty and well seasoned. My Hubbs had a Florida Hot chicken sandwich with tots and he was super happy with it. My only complaint is that it's a Little cold in here, but in the summer heat and humidity I'm sure it's a welcome bonus! The gender neutral bathroom was clean. The whole restaurant is clean. I love the welcoming sign out front. I'd definitely come back here again! read more

My boyfriend and i came to try Cowhead because we are burger fanatics. To say these burgers were fantastic is an understatement, hence why the plates are empty in my photo. They were cooked perfectly and the condiments and toppings were so fresh, the side of fries was a huge portion. Miss Joanne took our order, let us try their signature sauce before deciding if we wanted it as well as sampling the beer cheese. My boyfriend changed his drink and order last minute at no extra charge! Miss joanne took care of us, cooked our food, then cleaned up after everyone as well. Definitely a MUST TRY! read more

The Cowhead - Bison burger, fries - Burgers Near Me - Fort Walton Beach, Florida

This was closest to our hotel so that was nice. I'm not sure what to think but I also didn't experience it first hand. My coworker had asked if they gave military discount (because we weren't in uniform) and the employee said only on Mondays but also made a comment after like not like you need it anyways and there were two uniformed service members nearby. Not sure what he meant by that. Also, I wanted to order a small portion and I totally get it, the words under the menu did say Kids 12 and under, but it didn't make sense that my coworker was able to order from the kids menu and I couldn't. I'm not one to waste food but anyhow, I wasn't going to fight it and ended up getting the American classic combo burger with tater tots. I had to eat around my burger as certain parts were slightly pink although I know it's ok to be eating it. Overall, the food was good, portions are plenty, service was lacking but I'm going to give the employee some grace as I don't know what he is going through at that particular moment. read more

I would not come back, even if I was starving and it was free. The only reason I'm giving them stars is customer service was average just like my review. They make their own breakfast sausage and deliver a very large amount. The first one was literally cold raw in the center, and it is pork. The second one the cook turned his grill up so high he burnt the outside and the inside was still not fully cooked. Not only is this dangerous but it's disgusting as well! He can cook an egg and the bagel and cream cheese was the best thing on the plate. read more

We had lunch at Cowhead and every single thing we ordered was bomb! The food was so flavorful and delicious--we were seriously impressed. Great portions, super fresh, and packed with flavor. It always amazes me the places with signs advertising how tolerant they are seem to house the rudest staff. Only good thing I can say is their fries were decent. Burger was terribleI got the juicy lucy which is supposed to be cheese stuffed, i think maybe they squeezed a little cheese between the two cardboard tasting patties (not that I could taste much besides rhe charring) but it definitely wasn't "stuffed". It WAS super burnt The pricing is nuts, I paid $24 for a burger and fries??? WAYY too much for such mediocre at best food, no service etc. Go up the road to Saxx, cheaper, WAYY better food, and super friendly staff. read more

Walked in for a quick milkshake while walking on the strip, and it was delicious. I asked if the strawberry ice cream was fresh (as in at minimum having real strawberries) and he said yes! He did say that they don't typically mix flavors, but he would for me. It was such a good milkshake and I could tell it wasn't coming out of the machine. We did have to wait, but it's worth it when the milkshake tastes like something your mom made! Can't wait to come back! read more

The Cowhead - American burger - Burgers Near Me - Fort Walton Beach, Florida

We got the all American combo, with the 1/4 lb Pattie's, and a 1/3rd lb burger with the tri meat and Gouda cheese. The obvious comparison is against 5 guys. The wife thinks her burger was a little better than the "little or single burger" she gets at 5 guys. My burger was way better than the big "double" burger I usually buy from 5 guys. It wasn't as much to eat, but I probably should not be eating that much meat anyway. Not only was Ciw Head food better, it was a little cheaper as well. My only complaint was the service. Slow doesn't adequately describe the service. Pro tip, when they tell you to take a menu and go to table and they will take your order, they lie. All the regular customers know to order at the register read more

Great burgers... Wasn't sure about this place from outside, but the food was great. Order at the counter and it came out fast.

We enjoyed our dinner here! There is a public parking lot around the corner of the restaurant. Lots of options for food. The cowhead sauce is very good and the Florida hot sandwich was certainly hot (very good)!! Loved the loaded fries too. Burgers not cooked all the way though, there was lot of pink . read more

The Cowhead was probably the most mid burger place I went to out here. The food was pretty decent, at best. My burger was very bland and the cheese that was "stuffed" in the burger all slipped out right onto the table. Their menu was a pretty good size but most of the burgers kinda seemed the same. The best part of the meal I had was definitely the fries, the fries were very good honestly and would go back just again for them. The service here was pretty lame honestly. The guy working the counter was kinda forceful and pretty much rushing us to pick our food in the nicest way possible when it was our first time there so we had no idea what we wanted. The cook in the back also had AirPods in and was on his phone in between cooking and not washing his hands which is a big red flag to me and most likely other people as well. Overall, I'm probably not going to be going back to this place and will not recommend it to other people as well due to there being better burgers spots in the city of Fort Walton. read more

Great service! We were in town for a competition at the convention center and went afterwards to grab something to eat before heading back to the hotel, as we hadn't eating anything of substance all day. We walked in with maybe 45 mins before closing, which I already felt bad about, but the cashier reassured us we were fine. My daughter and I had milkshakes (mint chocolate and cookies and cream) and she and my husband had cheeseburgers, and I had Buffalo chicken eggroll bites, which were crispy and delicious. Also the fries were a family favorite. Thank you again for welcoming us to Destin, Cowhead! read more

Full disclosure- weTried only vanilla milkshakes and they were good but not great. Would try to return.

Expensive, order was way wrong... staff was not paying attention to customers.. maybe need to be focused... cooks just made whatever...

My first visit and this place didn't disappoint. It's clean, the staff are nice, & they price is reasonable. They offer breakfast, lunch, & dinner. Also, ice cream! You can get your fill of milkshakes or just ice cream. The chilly cheese fries is delicious and shareable. The loaded fries is really good. My sister-in-law got tater fries and my son got the plant burger. He said the plant burger was really good. I got the cow head burger, they ran out of Bison, but I still wanted to try it out with a regular burger. If you are in the mood for a really tasty burger then make your way to the Cowhead! read more

Cowhead in Fort Walton Beach quickly became a favorite during our vacation--we loved it so much, we went three times in one week! It was the perfect spot to refuel after our boating adventures. Their Tator Tots are an absolute highlight--crispy, perfectly seasoned, and totally addictive. We couldn't get enough of them! We also tried several of their burgers: the Cali, the Brunch, and the Fastball. Each one was fantastic in its own way. The Cali was fresh and full of vibrant flavors, the Brunch combined breakfast elements in a delightful way, and the Fastball was a flavor-packed hit. The restaurant has a fun and welcoming atmosphere, ideal for family outings. The service was consistently quick and friendly, making each visit enjoyable. Cowhead's combination of quality, variety, and a great vibe makes it a top choice for anyone in the area. Highly recommend trying their unique burger options and, of course, those amazing Tator Tots! read more

Oh MAN - Pancakes are downsized!!! What the heck!! This is our goto place for years on vacation for amazing breakfast and we were so hype for their pancakes and they are freaking tiny now!! Used to be like giant thick and fluffy - now Like 4" x 4" flat. If you go here for their breakfast and you always get 1 pancake for $5 - be prepared to be upset about getting shorted with a tiny meager pancake. Also their sausage is not good - heavy and not traditional breakfast sausage. Will likely not come back now because everything else is in parity with other breakfast joints. So Sad .... Here's a pic. The basket is small ... also there are hardly any hashbrowns in the breakfast bowl. read more
