If I Could Give Zero Stars, I Would - Waffle House #2272 This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a Waffle House -- and I genuinely wish I were exaggerating. I'm typically understanding when it comes to service, especially depending on the time of day or how busy it is. But this happened during normal business hours (between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.), and it was completely unacceptable -- honestly, a bit disturbing. I came in earlier today and placed a to-go order with a new cashier. I was patient and even asked twice if she needed me to repeat anything. She confidently said she had it. I also want to point out that another staff member was doing her absolute best -- she was kind, communicated well, and balanced helping the new cashier while managing her own duties. She deserves recognition for that. Hours later, after returning home (I live far from this location), I finally sat down to eat -- and my entire order was wrong. I made the drive back, hoping to have the issue resolved quickly and respectfully. That didn't happen. The same cashier was there and apologized sincerely, but explained she couldn't retrieve my receipt since the earlier manager had left and it was a to-go order. I asked to speak with the current manager, and what happened next left me completely shocked. He came out wearing a doo-rag and AirPods, didn't introduce himself, didn't say hello, didn't even ask why I wanted to speak with him. He just stood there like I was bothering him. I said, "I thought I saw you earlier when I came in," and he cut me off with a cold, "I wasn't here." Then he walked away after casually putting away a few dishes -- without ever addressing my concern or speaking to me again. For context, there were no other customers in the restaurant -- just me and the three staff members, including him. And yet, no one took responsibility, no one tried to make things right, and the manager showed zero interest in doing his job. Let me be clear: not everyone on staff was the problem. The new cashier tried her best to help, and the other employee I mentioned earlier was fantastic. But the complete lack of leadership, accountability, and basic human decency from the manager was honestly unsettling. If this is how the management treats customers, I genuinely worry about how they treat food safety, cleanliness, and even their own staff. This is more than just bad service -- it's a red flag. I never thought I'd say this about a Waffle House, but I don't feel safe coming back to this location. If you care about your time, your money, your health -- and especially your children -- please avoid Waffle House #2272. This is my first time leaving a review like this, but people need to know. Last year we went to Locust Grove for the Valentine's Dinner and it was a blast. The restaurant was decorated (including the tables), the employees wore Valentine's Day attire, they had Waffle House Valentine's Day hats and there was a special menu. This year we wanted to do it again. The Valentine's Day Waffle House was set for this location this year which was great because it's closer to us. When we pulled up, there were so little decorations that we had to double check and make sure we were at the right one. The tables had a white table cloth, no decor, barely any decor at all, only one waitress had one a Valentine's Day shirt and there was no special menu. We were very disappointed. We had an awesome breakfast. I changed my order after December told the cook. December nor the cook lost their smoke. My food was hot and delicious. 1st, I stood at the register for 8 mins an no one acknowledged me. I had to ask WHEN would someone take my order. (2)6 mins after giving my order I look up and noticed there was NO ONE cooking food. There was a guy counting money for the register & another guy cleaning the parking lot who came in and said he would cook the food. As I was about to ask for a refund the person counting the change started cooking. EVERY person in this establishment need customer service training ASAP!! Will never stop here again!!!! read more

Let me say this right off the bat: I've never been a fan of Waffle House. We'd go to a Waffle House in McDonough but I'd never get anything. I don't know if it was because I was turned off by the dirty interior or the unfriendly, unmotivated staff. Low & behold - the newest Waffle House in McDonough, close to the freeway. This location really surprised me. We walked in around 8am for breakfast & we were greeted by the whole staff with a "good morning." I really appreciated that. So, you sit anywhere you please go & someone comes & helps you. I got the peanut butter waffle which was sweet but really good & a side of sausage (they aren't links, their two little patties). I'd say my 6th visit to a Waffle House went pretty well thanks to this new location. Keep up the greetings & the team work I saw behind the counter - y'all are rocking it. read more

James!!! All I could say is James! Amazing cook, and is usually by himself holding it down! I can honestly see this man working at a fancy restaurant one day, or better yet, owning his own restaurant and getting down James Brown!!! Anyhow, we just moved from CA to GA and I never knew about Waffle House...so yeah, we're impressed! And it's open 24 hours/day (for the most part, given staffing issues etc)....shieeeetttt.... We placed our to go order at the counter with a waitress who was far from busy. She repeated our order and we paid. Upon receiving the order, we left without our usual inspection to verify the order was correct. After all, she did repeat what we ordered. Upon arriving home, we found our double original plain burgers had cheese on them. Not plain. I didn't bother checking my scrambled eggs. Who screws up eggs? Well, we went back and they remade the burgers correctly. Upon arriving home again, I discovered my eggs were also made wrong. Not going back, just threw that money right In the trash. It's a shame I can't frequent the waffle house that is closest to my home. The staff just doesn't pay attention. They lost our business. read more

I usually have a good experience at this restaurant but not today. A gentleman by the name of Carlos took my order which was a to go order. Typically I order over the phone but no one answered so I went into the store and placed the store. Immediately upon ordering Carlos had a very unpleasant attitude. I ordered my food at 10:25 a.m. it is now 10:56 a.m. and I still have not received my food. I got up to ask about it after watch Carlos text on his phone in front of a to go order for about 10 minutes. When I got up to ask about it he said "you are good I think that's your order back there." Mind you this is the food that had just been sitting. My fiancé let him know that we didn't want that food as it had been sitting. Carlos begin to speak in an aggressive manner and said the food would be recooked. It was absolutely too late. I have never ate ate a Waffle House that takes 30 minutes for a to go order. The customer service was unbelievable. There was no manager in sight and not even an apology for the delay for the food.
