The good- the fish sandwich is always great! Huge piece of crispy, yummy fish! The bad-In the past month or so we've ordered wings, onion rings and nachos. Three times the order has been terrible. The wings weren't crispy and drowned in sauce! The onion ring batter has changed with some weird seasoning added. They have been limp and soggy. Never have we had this problem! They used to be crispy and tasty even when delivered by Door Dash! The nachos have arrived with over cooked meat and mixed in with the chips that made the chip's soggy and unappetizing even after calling and requesting that the chips be separate from all other ingredients! In their defense, $3 has given us a credit for the order. The day manager, Shannon, was very accommodating and patient. We love this place and hope that the problems, which we feel are due to either a new chef or line cook, can be rectified. We'll see and update the review. read more

Watch out for the draft beer! Looks like they don't clean their machines like they should. I ordered a Corona and my boyfriend got an Angry Orchard. His was fine, but mine tasted old and moldy. I told the server and asked if I could switch to the Angry Orchard too. She said only the manager could handle it. It took him over 15 minutes to show up. When he finally did, he said they'd check the machines and let us know in a few minutes yeah, that never happened. We finished our food and had to ask again. They called the manager back over and he just gave a bunch of excuses. We literally watched their staff pour out other beers because they tasted bad, so clearly they knew something was wrong. Still, they wouldn't take mine off the bill or switch it out. Also, the server mentioned they had others complaints about the draft beer. And to top it all off, I found a hair in my food after I was done eating. Definitely not from anyone at my table, we all have long hair, and this one didn't match. If Atlanta had a contest for the best wings, Three dollar Cafe would easily be in the final round. THey fry them up crispy. Side sauces are delicious. They started years ago when a Korean American moved here with $3 in his pocket and before you know it, there are 10 locations throughout the area. I've been to a couple and they are always consistent. Good selection of beers, and really good Philly cheese steaks too. They have a "secret sauce" that sets them apart. I have never left a review before but I can't not leave one for what happened tonight. Our server was amazing, and the food was decent, but the problem lies with the drink. My friend and I ordered a frozen mango margarita to share, and it was awful. it tasted terrible, and other than the initial sips, we did not touch the drink and asked the server to take it back. Our server went to the General Manager, Laura, and let her know what was wrong and she refused to take it off our bill stating that all alcohol sales are final. I understand that the menu states this but my friend nor me saw the print on menu, and we were not informed until we went to pay that it could not be taken off. I paid 21 dollars for my meal, and then had to pay a whole 15 dollars for a drink that was terrible, when not just me and my friend disliked it, but a previous manager for the establishment also said it was awful. I just find it ridiculous that we were not able to get this drink taken off our tab when it was not touched due to how terribly made it was. read more

It's always a good time at Three dollar cafe. Menu items and drinks are fairly priced and a couple nights out the week they have a live Dj outside. Parking can be a hassle sometimes especially on Friday or Saturday night but if you get there early enough you will be fine. It's nice to have a place in McDonough you can go to with friends spur of the moment to listen to music and grab some drinks. Not all the menu items are great but you always get a good bit of food and for the most part, the service is always solid. The only bad experiences I have had has been with the people at the go station. I know it gets busy but a lot of time they are uninterested and it feels like you are bothering them. read more

This was my first time going to Three Dollar Cafe. It was literally the first restaurant that popped up on Yelp when I moved to McDonough, so I was super excited after reading all the great reviews. We sat on the patio because it was a beautiful day. Johnny was our server, and he was awesome! Very sweet and attentive and gave great recommendations. I was tempted to make my first meal the Cajun pasta, but I was craving a burger this particular day. And boy oh boy was I satisfied with that option. I had the Chipotle burger, while my friend had the Korean BBQ sandwich. My burger was cooked and assembled to perfection! The huge onion ring with the raw onion, tomato, lettuce and creamy chipotle sauce was absolutely delicious! And the bun was soft and perfectly buttered. I literally ate every bite, including the steak fries, which I'm not usually a fan of, but the meal was THAT good. I did get a chance to taste the Korean BBQ sandwich as well, which was also really good, but I'm happy I stuck with my selection. It was after 9 and everything closes I up early in McD so we decided to go to this place. It's more of a sports bar and a mixed crowd. It's pretty loud and service was ok. Drinks are awful, most of them taste just like juice. I only go when I want the hangover burger. My husband order the Grouper sandwich they have on the menu, they bought it out and noticed it tasted different. When he asked they it was not even grouper. Apparently, the GM Laura was in the building and she did not care. I left, I paid but this night will forever hold a bad taste in my mouth for how this was handled while I was grieving. The wet lemon pepper wings and steak fries were ok. The fried mushrooms were a thumbs down due to the breading and oversized mushrooms. The fried cheese cake was just ok. I was in the McDonough area visiting and we decided to grab a bite while we were out. This location sits ducked off and looks small from the outside but once inside you realize how huge it really is. We were greeted with smiles and decided to sit at a tall table which allowed us to seat ourselves. Upon sitting, we were greeted by our server within 2 minutes and had our drinks within 4. We were off to a great start. The environment was very laid back with a afterwork meets neighborhood hot spot kind of feel. It also happened to be trivia night so it was exciting to see the teams involved in the game. I decided on quick bites and went with the mozzarella sticks and steak fries. Racism still exist in 2025. I had the pleasure of receiving the worse service and I was ignored during my visit. I am a regular at Three Dollar Cafe and I have always had mixed reviews with the service. Most times bad, sometimes good. To get to the point, I arrived on 6/22 to meet my friends for drinks; Lucas treated me as if I did not exist, ignored me when I asked for anything and he kept telling me "Wait a minute" while servicing everyone at the outside bar. I did not understand why he was treating me bad until I realized I was the only person of color outside at the bar. I was patient, friendly and I did not give him any issues. I was over charged for my meal, he charged me for things I did not ask for and refused to service me the entire time. My friends had to ask him to service me until we all got fed up. I left. I gave him the tip he desrved for being a racist towards me. He received $0 on a $20 check that should have onnly been $11 for a kids meal. I will never return and I wish Lucas the best. read more

First visit on a Sunday night, we were promptly seated. Restaurant was busy but not full or overcrowded. Our server, who never told us his name had a face of boredom the whole time. All business and no personality... Seemed like he didn't want to be there. ‍ He took our order once we were ready. We had ordered drinks and my man's margarita was fine. My Bloody Mary, which was supposed to come with celery, a lime wedge, a slice of bacon and green olives came with none of those. Our waiter was doing his job attending to other patrons and when I asked about the garnishes, he said "ok" and swiftly walked away. Came back with a couple of celery and a piece of bacon on a small plate, said "There were no more olives" while walking away. Lordt. Food wasn't stellar but it's good when you just want to have food with your friends and have some drinks. Pecan Bleu salad The best out of what we have was the salad. BUT the chicken was lacking flavor. Even with that, it was the best from what we ordered. Chicken wings It was good. Just wish that if they used wet flavors, that it was spread evenly on the wings. Also wished that there wasn't a puddle of sauce underneath. And the celery... so muchhhh celery. Squash Casserole Barely any squash, mostly cheese and some weird goop. It didn't taste horrible, but it would make you wonder, what is this? It was overly salty sweet, like whoever made it was in a cycle of "oh it's too salty, lemme add a bit of sugar... not it's too sweet, let me put a little salt.." The manager was the only one who checked on us during our visit. We had a better experience thanks to her. She checked on us multiple times, actually had some convo. Decided to pop in by myself this early afternoon. I sat at the bar and someone came to greet me almost immediately. I ordered the fried pickles and they were hot and waiting in front of me literally 5 minutes after I ordered. It is a bar, so it's nothing too fancy. Music plays over the speakers and people shoot pool in the back so though it isn't extremely noisy, it's not quiet either. My pickles were really good. I'll be back soon. read more

I used to be a huge fan of this neighborhood establishment but my feelings are changing the more I go! To be clear, our server and the food was good, as always! But I have two complaints from tonight,, 1) I've been coming here for years and the glass my 'Texas Margarita" came in tonight was small, really small. I remember when this same drink was served in a slightly taller glass. Four sips and the whole drink is gone. Stop robbing customers of a decent sized drink..... BUT the thing that bothered me the most was, 2) bartender eating at the bar while making drinks! Didn't wash her hands not one time after putting food in her mouth! Disgusting! I don't care that you're not touching food, but your hands are touching the rim of glasses and i dont want your nasty fingers that came out your mouth, touching my glass rim. Like gross! We went to enjoy Saturday college football and have food and drinks. My daughter who is 23 from California was told she could not order a drink because she had a vertical ID. She is 23, what difference does it make which way her ID is. Needless to say we left and spent our money elsewhere.
