There are better Waffle Houses in Macon, but this one is still great. The employees are very friendly, and the food came out fairly quickly. The waffle did not taste good at all, which is weird because I've never had a bad waffle at the many Waffle House locations I've been to. Let's talk about the experience we had.. We came to Waffle House, hoping for a hot meal and to relax for a bit. "Chan" or "Chen", the female server, waited on us. At first, things were to be expected, like the slowness, sloppy half cleaned tables and sticky silverware, but yesterday gave us a run for our money. She was actually nice at first but things went south quickly. To start off, she BURPED in our face 4 times throughout the whole service. Indigestion maybe? Take a tums or something, please. Next, our order was completely wrong. She asked about it 3 different times, caught an attitude because SHE didn't hear us say something and wanted to argue. As she finished taking our order, I asked if I could get my HB covered and chunked and she got even more rude and argued with me "why would it be too late if I'm standing here". Ha, I totally get it. I was a server and the dumb questions got to me, but I never let that slip out of my mouth like that. I genuinely was trying to be pol it's. So, after all that, I STILL didn't get my ham. But we were stuck paying for it anyways. We ordered Over Easy Eggs but we may as well just received a hard cooked fried egg. Crazy. As I'm waiting, patiently to pay, she's sitting at a table yelling at her coworker about how someone told her she could leave at 6. Her friend was sitting at the bar seats learning how to do everything registerwise and all the duties of a server. Naturally you'd think this woman was training her but nope, she literally was teaching her friend but couldn't let her touch the register or see the screen because she wasn't an employee. Waffle House is the best place to eat: breakfast, lunch, or dinner! This is my go-to place to grab a quick bite and friendly conversation. As I type this review, I am drinking warm coffee and eating scrambled eggs, grits, and toast. It is great! The eggs are cooked perfectly. The grits are not too watery (like when yankees try to make grits). The toast is, well, toast. It has butter. It is good toast. So, what are you waiting on? Go to WaHo!!!! Terrible service. 3 dirty tables no one attempted to clean for 15 minutes. We decided to go to another Waffle House.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I was highly dissatisfied with my food. I'm originally from the south but I relocated to the Midwest where grits don't even exist. I looked forward to the grits if nothing else and my grits came out cold with lumps in them. Not only that my entire plate was luke warm at most. I looked forward to visiting one of the "gems" of the south and I was HIGHLY disappointed. The morale of the team seemed to be down as well, several staff members had attitudes with each other during my visit. Needless to say, I will never visit this location again. read more

Oh wow. I cannot brag enough about the crew and food tonight. Most of the experiences I respond to are due to terrible service or food. However, this Waffle House, tonight, had the most amazing crew from the grill to the servers. The food was amazing, the sevice perfect, and the overall feeling welcoming. I use to be a regular and because they tend to keep servers with attitudes, especially 2 younger ones in the mornings, I quit going to this location. This store always looked nasty on the inside and parking lot looks like it hasn't been swept in a year. Whenever I go to Waffle House I come out satisfied. The waffles are always the same and done great, sometimes I ask for it a little extra done and they are more than happy to accommodate. The staff is always nice and food comes out quickly. They also have the best hashbrowns with what seems like endless toppings. The waitress did mess up my hashbrown order but was very apologetic and offered to get me a new order but you can't really mess up hashbrowns. read more

I came here few times to sober up or just to sober up, and i swear i think this place pick their employees by their terrible hygiene. Is it me or all waffle house restaurants feel very cold. Even in winter, I can feel my food getting cold as i chew it!!! I don't think waiters/waitresses believe in cleaning or least wiping tables. I give them a 1 star. The customer service was horrible and the waitress seemed as thou she did not want to work that day or if something was bothering her. It took her 10 min to get us coffee, no water was brought out or were we asked... and the food came out cold, order was totally off.... no sausage on the plate, omelette overcooked and cold. My review is solely for the purpose of venting my frustration, in this, (and other WH locations'), in tabulating an appropriate charge amount for "call-in" orders, (and some "in-house" orders). I am of the same thoughts as most of these reviewers as to the quality of WH's food, which is excellent in my view, but I am so vexed by the lack of professionalism when it comes to appropriate charging, especially when it comes to "call-in" orders. I have absolutely no faith in the waitress taking my call, and order over the phone, to attempt to charge appropriately for specialty orders; i.e.: extra eggs, more toast, without overcharging. Infact, my particular format, (as you can tell, I call in orders quite a bit), is to articulate all my "needs" to the waitress, then at the moment they're about to hang up, make them go through the order and relevant charges. EVERY SINGLE TIME, they're ticketed charge is 20-30% over the actual price! I hate to say it's an "unwritten" rule of survival for WH waitresses, but there really is no other explanation. read more

Now this is the definition of service and fast! My colleagues and I sat ourselves at a table, and immediately the waitress introduced herself and grabbed our drinks. Once she grabbed our orders, it didn't take long for us to get our orders served to us. I didn't even get a chance to sip my glass of water before they started raping our table with the purity of their waffles, bacon, and hash browns. I wasn't ready.
