Ever since this restaurant came into town my wife and I have always wanted to try it. There is usually a line out the door but we got there early enough to walk right in! They had nice music playing and it wasn't too loud so you can have conversations! Everything on the menu sounded really good and it was tough to make a decision on what to eat. We eventually decided and this what we got! For our drinks we decided to get the Peach Nectar and the Mango Nectar juices. These were really good and highly recommend them! They tasted and seemed natural. There was no sugar overload flavor, just the juice of a mango and peach! We decided to start off with their beignet doughnuts with the sauce it came with. The doughnuts were tasty, just a little overcooked though. The sauce was delicious as well and we recommend getting these. We the decided to order the FreeBird Benedict and the Veggie Scramble. The FreeBird Benedict was great! It came with 2 chicken strips and sausage gravy with 2 poached eggs on a fluffy biscuit and a side of potatoes. The chicken was cooked nicely and the sausage gravy was delicious! The poached eggs were cooked perfectly and the biscuit was fluffy! The potatoes were seasoned perfectly as well! The Veggie Scramble was delicious as well! The eggs were cooked nicely and you were able to taste the fresh tomatoes and spinach! It was served a side of potatoes and a fluffy biscuit! The potatoes were seasoned nicely and the biscuit was fluffy and had just the right amount of butter on it. It did get served with a honey apple spread which was very tasty as well! Overall our experience was nice! The service of the food was ok, I think it took a little too long to come out. I definitely still recommend eating here! First time in after the Cherry Blossom Pageant. Small and quaint. We waited for two booths bc we had a group of 9. I would definitely suggest for a smaller group. We were still greeted kindly and sat pretty quickly. Our waitress was so kind and fun! She helped with the kids and was patient fun and kind! They had a new cook in the kitchen so one of our meals wasn't correct but she corrected it quickly and with a smile. All of the food was delicious. The grits were literally amazing. The waffle was delicious. I had a wrap and Nashville hot tenders. The food was delivered hot and quickly. Everything was yummy. Worth the prices and again we enjoyed our waitress so much! We came here to celebrate my sister's bestie birthday. My sister had already been here before but the rest of us...it was our first time. The food was sooooo good. That biscuit was so soft. The sweet tea was amazing. My sister ordered a flight of mimosas and said they all were good. I was not able to even get a pic of them bc she went in as soon as that flight got to the table. I had a high expectations for this place, as I had heard others talk good about it. They might have good biscuits but they don't know how to cook an egg. With a table of eight, three of us had Eggs Benedict and all the eggs were hard as a rock and the server made no attempt to correct the situation when told. The coffee was brought to the table cold and the service was slow. The grits were tasty but were also served cold. The country feel of the downtown location was nice but don't serve hard boiled eggs on top of the benedict insert food at the proper temperature. Not recommended at this time. read more

Ate there this morning while traveling to Savannah. The service was below average. Waited 11 minutes after being seated to place drink order. One positive, the food came at accurate and timely. But the coffee was warm at best (not hot). The same for the grits. The server took our order and later took forever to bring our check. Never saw her in between those times. So, no refill on coffee or water. No ketchup for my potatoes. No extra butter or jelly. I still tipped 15%. Generally for tip I do 20-25 based on service. Should have done no more than 10 today. If you want average food with poor service that runs $40 plus give em a try. read more

(You're taking me too fast)I can't wait to visit this cafe. When I lived in Atlanta, my daughter introduced me to the FBC. It was FANTASTIC! My favorite was the crème cheese filled muffins. Also, I enjoyed eating breakfast there. Yes...for a seated meal- there was usually a wait. But never over 15 minutes.After reading some of the Macon reviews- it gives me pause to go there. But I'm willing to give it a chance. If the wait is longer than 15(+/-) a few minutes, due to a spinal disability- I'd have to leave.The FBC ATL was small & personable. Do Better! OWNER please engage! We have high hopes for Flying Biscuit, loved the brand and the food but the last few visits have become increasingly disappointing. This morning we just left and went somewhere else after sitting at the bar 15 minutes at a dirty counter, staring at dirty dishes piled up, no acknowledgment except to say "I got 18 things going on" no drink order, not even water. We were told it was a 40 minute waiist for 2 people while I stood there and counted six empty tables. Many good restaurants have come and gone in Macon. Customer Service matters. read more

This was our second time at Flying Biscuit, and we can't wait to come again! The dining halls are wonderfully decorated, the staff is so friendly, and most importantly: the food is amazing! Last time I had the Southern Comfort Scramble with grits and my partner had the Dirty Bird Chicken and Waffles. Today, he had the Stuffed French Toast, I had the Hangover Hash brown bowl, and my mom had the Flying Biscuit Breakfast. All the food is delicious and the grits are a must have. read more

Hubby and I wanted to try this place and were excited to go. We arrived around 11am and were seated. After 10 minutes a waitress asked what we wanted to drink & we also placed our order since we had such a long time to wait before being asked for our drink preferences. Fast forward an hour later and no food. We placed enough money to cover drinks and left, as the waitress never checked on us & she had to be flagged down to refill drinks. A truly disappointing experience and would NOT recommend to my worst enemy. read more

3 stars is fair. Waited 30 minutes for a table for 12 people on a Saturday morning, super reasonable. Biggest complaints were the restaurant smelled bad, maybe like water damage or something. They also had the restaurant freezing cold even though it was like 60 degrees outside so we all shivered the whole time. The food was very average. I had chicken and waffles. The chicken wasn't seasoned at all, it wasn't bad it just didn't have any flavor. The service was good, waitresses were attentive although they were clearly busy. Most of the others in my group said their food was "okay", nothing spectacular although not bad. read more

2/7/2026. 30 minutes later still no food. Yes, they are busy but that does not address untimely service. I've visited Flying Biscuit locations all over Georgia and usually have great experiences, including outstanding service just two weeks ago at the Auburn location. Unfortunately, my experience at the Macon location was extremely disappointing. From the start, things felt off when the hostess flagged me down from across the room by yelling "hey, hey" to seat me. The restaurant was loud and chaotic, but I placed my order clearly: a flight of mimosas, shrimp and grits to dine in, and the High Flyer to go for my husband. I specifically requested one entrée to be served while I was seated and the other to go. After 32 minutes, there was still no food. I waved my server down to ask for an update and was told, "I don't know. I don't have control over the kitchen." While that may be true, communication and table service absolutely are within the server's control, and neither were happening. Before this, another staff member came out and asked me a question. I nodded and shrugged because I was on the phone trying to hear in one of the loudest dining rooms I've experienced. At this point it was after 1:00 p.m., I was starving, and while I didn't have anywhere else to be, that doesn't excuse the lack of service. What made this unacceptable was watching a gentleman seated directly behind me who arrived after I did and he received his meal, followed by a table of four seated in front of me who arrived 10 minutes after me and were also served before me. I eventually flagged the hostess and explained that I no longer wanted the meals. The lack of urgency, awareness, accountability, and basic customer service was frustrating. I wasn't in a rush, it;s Saturday . For me it was about fairness, communication, and respect. Given the consistently positive experiences I've had at other Flying Biscuit locations, this one missed the mark badly. I hope management addresses these service issues. read more

Visited this location on March 14th and if there was a way to get rid of this location, I'd say do it as fast as possible! I saw SEVERAL unsanitary practices occur here, so the fact that we never received our food after waiting for close to an hour is probably the blessing we didn't realize at the time. Let me start by saying their breakfast is wonderful. I personally think they should stick to just breakfast & brunch. the lunch items lack luster. I visited 9/16 . The young lady who seated me never made eye contact, presented herself poorly , sloppy & unprofessional, cursing & talking about her personal business She also packed herself a to-go bag of food before they were finished cleaning to close for the day. She had pink & black crochet loc's. They would have been nice if they were in a style & not just loose & you're working with peoples food. The young man who cleaned the table was polite, not talkative, but responsive. He even swept the floor around other tables & waited until I left to sweep mine. Very nice. I was informed later that another young lady who served my beignets was the manager. She was talking on the phone. Didn't speak & made no eye contact. Mia- the woman behind the bar was very polite to everyone who came in. She spoke & worked. Damion was my server. From the time he saw me until I left he was professional, polite, informed about the menu, etc. Had good timing when checking on my table & my orders. Your overall team i as a reflection of management. Damion, Mia & the 'cleaner;' are the acceptions. Let's talk about the lack luster food. The beignets were more like funnel cake shaped into donut balls. Not enough powdered sugar & the crème anglaise ( needs more vanilla bean & try some lemon or orange zest ) didn't have much taste at all. The sweet tea was fine. The sugar hadn't dissolved yet. But, it was good. The truffle fries had very little taste. Perhaps a little more garlic, parmesean cheese & some sea salt. Use actual truffle oil or- mushroom & garlic infused oil Texture was on point. They were not burnt. so that was good. The burger - Mr. Big - I was excited to try this sandwich. I was quikly disappointed. Patties were dry & I asked for medium done. There was no flavor. They tasted like pattieds from McDonalds, the sauce reminds me of the sauce from Burger King. Pickles were good. Bun was not toasted. . I will NOT be ordering lunch from here ever again. I work in an office that I order breakfast & lunch at least 2-3 times per month. It is why I was even there to try the food. In my opinion the breakfast is better. Though , if you don't get the rest of your staff on the same 'service' level, you're not going to last very long. Flying biscuit as a brand is really good. Raise the bar & fix it. Meet the standard from the flagship location in ATL. I wish I had nicer things to say. read more

My family and I were at this location on 8/2/25 and we were thoroughly disappointed! This is not the service we are used to with The Flying Biscuit. We've been customers of this establishment for well over 10 years so we were exited to visit this new location in Macon, GA. We placed our order and my daughter and I got our food in a reasonable time. However, my husband's food came to the table another 30 minutes later! By the time my daughter and I finished our meal, he still hadn't gotten his food! The kitchen forgot to make his food and that was completely unacceptable! The menu is not the same as the other locations in the ATL area. The food portions are also much smaller. Suggestion: have the Macon crew go to the location on Dekalb Avenue in Atlanta, GA for training on how to properly run a Flying Biscuit! read more

We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We waited 45 minutes for a table, then waited over an hour for food to be served. Seated at 10:45 and finally left at 12:35. The wait staff was very friendly and apologetic. Room is very loud. Food was really good when we finally got it. We will go back - but we will give them time to work out the kitchen issues. I was able to go to this location on their 1st day of opening. The staff was courteous and they were attentive to our needs. The customer service was amazing, and I couldn't ask for anything better. The food was great and the portions were huge. Even though the restaurant was full, they still gave us personal attention. The ambiance was amazing, as I especially enjoyed the mural that tied in the local culture and history. If you are visiting Macon please visit this restaurant and spend time with our great business in downtown Macon. read more

I am becoming less impressed with the Flying Biscuit in Macon. I personally do not think they are using the original biscuit recipe. The first Flying Biscuit opened in Candler Park in the 1990's, near our home in Atlanta. That was back when I thought I could get away with eating a biscuit most every morning on the way to work. Like knowing our own grandmother's cooking, I know gourmet bliss when it hits me. And nothing hits me with this store's biscuit other than a flat over buttered hockey puck. I was there yesterday. They pulled the last straw. I sat down for lunch; the waiter sat my drink on my table and moved on to serve three other tables that were seated after me and got their orders before me. The store was not busy. However, after about 45 minutes, my order was still not ready. I left to pick up a sandwich at the coffee shop across the street to get back to work on time.
