Excellent wings. Have to be the best in Macon. So many flavors and they taste amazing. I ordered a few 2 oz. cups n some fries to sample before I ate and let me tell you... it was well worth it. My wife gas the ten piece. Half boomerang and half tangy peach... and I didn't get to sample a single one although she said she only wanted a 5 piece when we got there. I had the 10 piece combo with fried okra and we shared. I got honey with a kick and Macon heat. Altogether we spent right about $35. The owner is a crook and rude. He made the mistake of not assuring that his rule about subbing fries require a different price on the Waitr app and snatched my food out of my hand. He also charged my card more money without my consent. Waitr is kind enough to issue a refund. Before any of this, I attempted to remove an item from my order but he refused to do so, but as mentioned above he snatched my food out my hand. That means he was willing to throw the whole order out. So, why not remove that item so that I could stay in my budget? This is why black people don't support black-owned businesses. It feels good to find a new favorite restaurant upon moving to an unfamiliar place. Relocating from Chicago I haven't found many good restaurants in Macon as of yet, but Francar's Buffalo Wings offers a breath of fresh air. It has a young vibrant atmosphere filled with college students from Mercer University chatting with their buddies while munching on their wings. The walls are painted bright orange, matching the color of the university, and are covered with sports jerseys, sports memorabilia, sports news, fraternity/sorority shirts and signs, and other fun things. Needless to say, this is a college hang-out spot. Being a law student, I had some disconnect from the undergraduate crowd but I still enjoyed the energetic atmosphere. The prices are reasonable, you can have a meal for around $5. Their menu ranges from sandwiches and wraps to deep fried chicken/seafood to burgers. I had the Philly Cheesesteak which came with fries. The fries were absolutely delicious, crunchy and hot, right out of the deep fryer. I'm not sure if "fresh" is an appropriate word to use to describe fries, but if you can, then it would definitely be appropriate here! I couldn't stop eating em. The cheese on the Philly Cheesesteak was warm and gooey and they did not skimp on the steak. The peppers, onions, and mushrooms were not overcooked which is a problem with many Philly Cheesesteaks. The bread was soft and fresh out of the oven. The people working there were down to earth and friendly. They are amazing! They make their sauces in house and a lot of them are sauces you can't find anywhere else. You can even get your Philly dipped with any of the wing sauce and it is really great that way. I would have never thought to do that. My co-worker and I placed an order that I picked up. The owner answered and took my order and interrupted when I confirmed my drink order. When I went to clarify she cut me off and when I asked when I should be there to pick it up she told me she would not tell me how long it would take to have the order ready until I gave her my phone number and my first and last name. When I arrived an employee had to collect my money and hand it to the owner who made change and handed it to her to hand to me-?? When I asked if the receipt was in the bag, the employee looked at me funny and said no. I told her I would need it and she turned to her employer and informed her. In response the owner hands a plate of food to the employee and tells her to take it to a table and proceeds to slowly write out a receipt to me. I decided on the fish while my co-worker decided on the shrimp and fish combo enjoying it except one piece of fish that wasn't fully cooked. Judging from the menu prices online and what we paid, I'm certain we were overcharged. Hard to say either way with my hand-written receipt that discloses no prices on it. The boyfriend and i have been here before and ordered a few level 4 (the hottest) sauces and while they were hot, they were not what I expected. This time we ordered their Macon Bears sauce, one of two sauces that are marked "no refunds for being too hot." I completely understand that now. He made it through all 8 of his wings; I broke down after 6 and a half. We had to order more fried and used most of a bottle of ketchup. Even now my face is on fire. And I love it. Even if you don't like it so hot they have a litany of flavorful sauces and they aren't shy with the sauce! The wings are well done and juicy. And the staff is very friendly. Absolutely horrible service! The staff was very belittling to us at our table when they informed us of their 1 cup policy. Yes, you read that correctly. If you want a coke and a water, you must first finish your water before they will give you a coke in the same styrofoam cup. What if your hands are too dirty from, I don't know, sauce and your cup happens to have sauce on it? The waiter will ask you to first clean your cup before you get a refill. Very slow to pay also, as you have to wait in the entry way in front of the door to the kitchen (so you'll have to dodge trays of food leaving).
