We throughly enjoyed our time at this lovely bistro in Macon for so many different reasons…read more To start, staff was amazing! They're so knowledgeable of the menu, drink pairings, and Macon in general. We love visiting new cities where the people take pride in where they're from, and Macon is one of those places. The dining room attendant who was assigned our table was amazing. I wish I remembered her name! Not only did she help me decide on a dish - and what a decision that was! She also shared several gems with us during our dinner. Now let's talk food. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. I ordered the special, which was a salmon over a pumpkin risotto. Waowwwwe! The flavors worked perfectly together and the salmon was cooked just right with a little crisp. My husband ordered he ribeye, but was in between that and a pasta dish. He wasn't too impressed with the ribeye, but I loved the au jus and the butter it came with. I believe it was a pesto or sage butter? Whatever it was added a pleasant herb flavor that went so well with the steak. Their wine menu was quite extensive, as was their drink options. I love when a place diversified their drink menu, especially with wines. Thank you so much for this! Desert was a lovely treat. The crème brûlée was pretty good, and they had several other options. Our meal was fairly priced as well! Nowadays, everything is an arm and a leg which makes me have to justify what I ate. Fair prices for amazing food is a rarity now a days! If you're visiting the area, THIS is your dinner spot!

I stand by my tuna salad sub order! Never lets me down. Fast attentive customer service makes this…read morespot worth the venture downtown for me.

This is a hard review to have to write, due to my love of Baldino's subs. I haven't had a Baldino's…read moresub in over 10 years due to not having a location near enough to my house or my visits around the country, so I was pleasantly surprised to see a location in downtown Macon, which was not far off the highway, so I took my life and sanity into my hands by chancing a drive through the mess that is downtown Macon. While the location of the deli is in a good spot, be careful where you park. I got inside and ordered from the owner/manager, a friendly and pleasant woman, and proceeded to wait for my order. 2 simple sandwiches, no special ingredients, made the "Baldino's Way", and after waiting for considerable time for the employees to make the order (they were busy laughing and talking amongst themselves and getting orders wrong left and right, and literally laughing over the sandwiches, as in LEANING OVER and laughing) I got my order and left. We ate our sandwiches on the road since we had a long way to go. Worst sandwiches I have had. Absolutely LOADED with oregano (see pic of tomato doused in oregano) and zero oil and vinegar on either. Horrible taste with all the oregano and lack of oil and vinegar. I had to apologize to my brother for suggesting Baldino's, he probably won't take a chance in another location. Note to owner/manager: ask your employees to pay attention to what they are doing, don't talk and giggle with your face inches from a sandwich, and stop lollygagging when you have multiple customers waiting. This place won't survive long if they keep getting reviews like mine and others I've seen on here. What a shame.

I've been living in Middle Georgia for three years and somehow just discovered The Fresh Market. I…read morehave Yelp to thank for this life update, while in town casually strolling to see what grocery stores Macon had, it popped up in my search. When I lived in Atlanta, this was my go to grocery store, so imagine my excitement realizing there's one within a 35-mile radius of me now. Cue the happy dance in the parking lot. It's tucked into a large shopping center, so there's plenty of space to pull up, park, and prepare to spend more time (and money) than you originally planned. The moment I walked in, I was hit with the comforting aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, basically the grocery store version of a warm hug. On top of that, every employee I passed greeted me. Everyone was genuinely friendly and eager to help, which made the experience even better. I felt like a kid in a very upscale, health conscious candy store. If you're trying to eat better, this place makes it dangerously easy to stay on track. They have everything, fresh squeezed juices, exotic fruits and veggies, prepared meals, plus a quality meat and seafood department. Don't even get me started on the baked goods and yes they offer vegan and gluten-free pastries, self control was tested. I was especially impressed with their dairy free selection. There were plenty of yogurt and milk alternatives, which made this non-dairy girl feel seen and supported. One of my favorite parts was the snack displays. There were so many unique, better for you options that I hadn't seen anywhere else. I grabbed a bag of herb-seasoned popcorn on a whim and let me tell you, it did not disappoint 10 out of 10. The store itself is quaint, but don't let the size fool you I easily spent an hour exploring, especially the seasonal items. Between the fresh flowers, quality products, and overall inviting vibe, this place is officially back in my rotation. It may be "close ish," but it's absolutely worth the trip.

First time at this location…read more As I walked in I noticed how clean the dining area was. There were maybe 10 customers all seated eating lunch. I approached the counter staring at the large menu on display. I came hungry so it was a little difficult to decide on what I wanted. They are known for their loaded spuds but I did not want anything too heavy. I ended up ordering the choice of 2 - 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 soup or salad. I chose the Half club, the Savannah Chopped Salad, and the Broccoli Cheddar soup. It's extra of course if you're ordering more than 2 items but oh was it worth it. The club sandwich was fresh. The bread was toasted and all the veggies/meat were fresh. It was just enough. The broccoli cheddar soup was delicious! Just looking at it I thought it was butternut squash soup. Bits of broccoli throughout the soup The Savannah Chopped Salad was freshly made. Lettuce crispy! Plenty of almonds and berries (cranberries) throughout the salad. A side pickle I didn't order dessert bc my mom made a cake so I am saving space for it Overall I had a very good lunch! I will definitely return and next time try the spuds everyone crave about.

I was on my game today with double checking my order before I left out. But so were the workers as my preparer left nothing out. I got my chili cheese topping, sour cream, and pickle spear. I saw two of the items on top of my box while it was waiting to be bagged. But I could not see inside the box so I asked the young lady to please check for it. And she pleasantly did so. The meal is like a 2 for 1 for me. Nachos now. Wrap Later. The nachos are still impressive and I like that the sauce was thicker but not too much. The consistency was really good. I even had a Thank you note enclosed. Thank you Zebulon Road McAlister's. You gave me a reason to smile.
