I was in the mood for steak, so I stopped in and grabbed one. I sat at the bar this visit, and Nicole was friendly and welcoming. Food Appetizer stuffed mushrooms 9/10 Dinner flo filet with mac n cheese & sweet potato 10/10. Steak cooked perfect medium and seasoned well. The mac is always good, and the sweet potato is my favorite.

Chop Steak Paired with Loaded Baked Potato & Broccoli (Sorry I had already started to devour this prior to photo so some is missing )

The food was fantastic. Online ordering was a breeze compared to one of my past experiences. The burger was cooked well. The tomato was too ripe so I left it off the burger. Maybe next time I'll add that in the special instructions to give me a not so ripe tomato. Hey, I like what I like but if it isn't available, I can definitely do without. The potato was al dente. I guess that would be the word to describe it as it was pretty big and needed to cook a little more, but it was edible so no complaints. I chose the strawberry shortcake as they call it, but I consider it to be a strawberry cream cake. I'm glad it's not made with the original shortcakes because I am not fond of those and would have chosen something else. I requested the berries/puree on the side for two reasons. 1. I didn't want it to be soggy before I made it home. 2. I felt that cake would be good without the addition of the berries, and it was! I did try it with some of the sauce and it was still great. The cake was not dry which was a plus. So eating it either way makes for a great dessert.

Parmesan Crusted Spinach Dip

The CHEESE and spinach were hands-down, one of the BEST dippin sauce I have EVER had! The service was excellent! Everyone is so nice and the waitress had such personality! The ambiance was ok... A lot of annoying people Overall rate this 4 stars!

Pay attention to the fine print because their tipping suggestions are sneaky and go again etiquette of tipping pre tax

Consistently delicious food and exceptional service. My only gripe with Longhorn is their long-standing tip miscalculations. Read closely on the receipt how they actually calculate the tip suggestions post tax. Every tipping etiquette guide uniformly say tips should be calculated pre-tax as you don't tax on government taxes. I continue to be disappointed in longhorns choice to take advantage of their customers i'm making tipping suggestions which are too high as I'm sure the vast majority of people don't read the fine print.

Perfect Renegade Sirloin* cooked medium rare.

Thank you for being open for 1 more day during this pandemic. We are visiting from California where there is currently a lockdown. It was a lovely site to see someone was still open. We had the best white cheddar stuffed mushrooms for a appetizer. My husband had lamb chops with mashed potatoes and a salad. I had the renegade sirloin which was cooked to the perfect medium-rare. OMG I have not had a steak cooked perfect in a long time. Everyone is extremely nice. Our server Janae was on point. She was so nice and just wonderful as she kept refilling our drinks. She suggested menu items and was very knowledgeable with every question we asked. If I am back in Macon, GA for any reason, this will be my stop. Already planning on coming back later for dinner because of the time difference, my body thinks it is lunch!

#DestroyedIt! #yum! This WAS the Lamb Chops, Mashed Potatoes and Spinach.

We walked in, and turned around and walked out. I don't think I have ever been in a dirtier restaurant! It even smelled dirty.

I'll start off by saying I'm a carnivore and I only eat meat, I also travel a lot and eat at bbq…read morerestaurants all across America. What I just ate at Satterfields was up there with the best of anything I've had. I didn't get to try my go to, the brisket, as they had already sold out but I got to try the pulled pork and the chicken wings and WOW. The pulled pork was good enough to not need any sauces. The chicken wings were out of this world. I got them dry with sauces in the side and these too were perfect and didn't need sauce either. I did want to try all of their sauces though and got them on the side. Every single sauce was phenomenal. The vinegar sauce was perfect with the pulled pork and wasn't an overly strong vinegar, honestly one of the best vinegar sauces I've had and I live in Eastern NC. It's a crying shame this place is only open 11-2. The two folks working when I came in were super nice and helpful. I'm assuming the man I spoke to was the owner and he was very appreciative of my business. If I lived within 30 minutes of this place I'd be here every single week. CARNIVORE APPROVED

Anyways, I'm glad I finally made it in to check things out. On my first visit I snagged a half-chicken, some fried Mac and cheese balls and a breakfast sandwich. All were stellar. On my latest visit I got their pulled pork mojo special which was nicely done, along with two quarter chickens-dark. Staff has been super friendly on each visit and the place is spotless. Getting to-go is quick and only has taken a few minutes which is great since their hours are confined to 11a-2p.

Now if you are someone who doesn't like dives then this place may not be for you. It has been open since the 40s and has that feeling of a place where time has kind of stood still. Personally I found the old school, well worn feel of the place charming. Most importantly we all found the food to be excellent. Tuckers is no frills barbeque joint that delivers great food at really reasonable prices. We were a table of three and sampled the barbeque, rib and hamburger steak plates. The really stand out items were the hand-cut fries, the finely chopped coleslaw and the ribs, which were surprisingly meaty. We'd heard people rave about the Brunswick stew, but oddly thought that was only so so. A word of warning for those who are particular about their barbeque, Tuckers serves their barbeque finely pulled and with only one sauce, which is vinegar based and very spicy. The sauce is on the side so you can skip it if it's not your cup of tea, although I personally enjoyed it because it is heavy on the black pepper, which I love. Overall I can't understand why someone gave this place a bad review because we will definitely head back. We all got more food than we could eat, it came out of the kitchen lightening fast, and the guy who waited on us was super friendly and really hustled. It's a little out of the way, but the rustic atmosphere, yummy food, good value and friendly staff make it well worth the trip. If you do make your way out to Tucker's just do yourself a favor and make sure you get some fries. One last thing...don't forget to bring cash or a local check when you go because they don't take credit cards or checks from out of the area.

So on our way back from visiting friends at Lake Lanier, I as the passenger + navigator said..hmmm...we need a break but let's find soul food. I said. Who goes thru Macon and dont eat good. Not me. So, I hit Yelp. Then I asked AI. Claude. Claude gave me a list and there was the H! So we drove 20 minutes out the way. Best detour ever! Go early. Buy an extra meal for home. I gladly dropped my cash. ..salmon cakes made me cry....everything was off the chain. Well, I had my good juju on, I sat on a bench with a 30 year veteran of this place. She talked my ear off, what a delight. So the place is decked out in Allman brothers memorbilia. It was their early haunt as they rose to fame. Well the founder, older blk lady is dead. Her family smartly sold out to corporate. But it was worth it. They maintained all thats good. Even the tiny old bathrooms. Need an update for sure. But. .Definitely worth the visit. Parking was horrible! So go early! Now, you need to go by Macon cemetery. See Allman burial, civil war places. I want to explore Macon more now! Well, as we drove home, around Jacksonville, I reached in the back seat. No fork. Just a smile. Yes i fed my driver. Salmon cakes hit on all cylinders. Sadly the two meat plate left off my meat, turkey. But forgiven. I should have checked my to go order. Never trust. Always verify. Broke my own rules! Stop by.
