First timer here and what a better state to try Cracker Barrel than in Georgia. My family and I did a road trip from Florida to Georgia, and on the way back - we stopped by Cracker Barrel as our pit stop to each lunch. We walked in and it was glamoured out with a home-goods shop. After walking through the shop, you reach the host to bring you to the restaurant side and seat you down. Food is home-town country. We were recommended to try the fried chicken and country fried steak. For a family of four, we spent $75 with tip. Service is very warm and welcoming. I wish Florida had hospitality like this! Only downside was the kitchen was backed up. We waited about 30 minutes for our food to come out, then the bread came during our meal. We felt bad hounding our server down for more refills of our drinks but it was the day after New Years. read more

I was in town for a training. Decided to stop into Cracker Barrel thinking it was a consistent choice of home cooked food. It was not consistent. My wife order Meat loaf and 2 sides one was mashed potatoes and the other was carrots. The server never brought the carrots. When asked he said they were out and the manager said it was ok to pick something else to replace. Hmm? The Manager said. I had a breakfast plate scrambled eggs were overcooked the grits were clumped together like concrete and hash brown casseroles was overcooked. We've been coming here on our road trips for many many years. The food is consistently good. Highly recommend pancakes and fried apples. They also do hash browns, however you want - my husband loves them with onions and tomatoes. The absolute WORST Cracker Barrel we've ever been to. My son is a CB nut (he works there so we visit more locations than we'd honestly like to). On our way to Florida, we stopped around 8pm to grab dinner and stretch our legs. The retail store was dirty, the restaurant was dirty, the restroom was so gross that I didn't even use it. Our food took an HOUR and when we got it, 3/4 of ours was cold, my shrimp dish had congealed grease sitting on the top of it, drinks weren't brought out until after our food, and they were never refilled. Love coming here for breakfast! Walking through the country store before reaching The host stand - see all the nostalgia! We typically have no wait when we come which is nice. Moderate noise levels and ample seating. Jody took great care of us on our last visit. I typically always order Grandmas French Toast with bacon and scrambled eggs with cheese - and coffee! Then she didn't bring any extra syrup, and it took forever to get her attention to ask for more syrup. Well, instead of Cracker Barrel, it should be Crack Barrel because Brittany is there and she did a horrible job. She made me cry because she didn't get my cinnamon toast in time and to be specific the apple cinnamon toast. it was a featured item and the other featured item for this month she said that I did not look like that and she did terrible customer service. I am only 10 and if I have an empty stomach, I will cry. But the awesome manager and this guy at customer service/working retail. It took more than the 30 minutes to get seated. At 1:52 pm we were finally called in to get seated and more than 3/4 of the tables were empty. People ahead of us had been waiting for over an hour to be seated when previously told it would only be 30 or 40 minute wait. Customer service is lacking. They acted as though we were putting them out asking questions regarding wait times. After getting seated, my daughter had to go to the hostess to get the breakfast menu even though we asked for one before we were taken to our table. It was an act of Congress getting sugar & creamer for my coffee. This is one of the worst Cracker Barrels I've been to and I've been to many all over the US. The wait was not too bad on a Saturday night, about 20 minutes for a group of 6 people. We were not even given metal utensils. When we received our food, our waitress gave us plastic utensils. I should've known they were short staffed since all the tables around us were not bussed or cleaned for a while (at least 30 minutes). I saw that the waitresses had to clean the tables. I ordered the spicy grilled catfish dinner plate. I also ordered broccoli and fried okra since it came with two sides. The food was not warm. It did taste okay though. The cornbread muffins were dry and bland. Service was pretty slow. I probably could've gotten better and faster food at Chik Fil A next door. I would not come back to this location. read more

Loved! First time trying Cracker Barrel and loved it. Our waitress was amazing and the food was awesome. Tried fried okra for the first time and liked it. I ate the fried chicken plate with loaded hash brown casserole and the okra. Serving size was amazing! Mac and cheese was awesome but we really enjoyed our server. Wish I had gotten her name. Prior to our food being served there was a table of 6 or 7 people behind of us who walked out on this server about 3 mins before their food arrived. She was clearly upset and we saw everything happen. So in true Hawaii fashion we made sure to keep her spirits high by sharing our Aloha spirit. Excellent Customer Service, my server's name was Chantese, she was very sweet and helpful. The food was ok, it just depends on what you order. We ordered "Uncle Hershel's Favorite" with Catfish & hashbrown casserole. The grits weren't good at all, at least not to me nor my mom. Neither one of us liked the grits. The catfish was ok, nothing too exciting. I liked the hashbrown casserole even though it was a bit hard in some places. The eggs were good and the biscuits were good when butter and strawberry jam was added. The Rasberry lemonade was delicious! It's a great welcoming country restaurant with extremely friendly staff but I wasn't overly impressed with the food, however I will go back and maybe try something different in the future. My only advice would be to make sure you review your check and everything is accurate before you pay. I had a few errors on my check but they happily fixed them for me. We are on a Thanksgiving get away but still wanted our Thanksgiving meal. Cracker Barrel is a great place to go. We had the works. We called ahead and they said it started at 11am so we arrived at 10:30am to bear the rush. We even did a little Christmas shopping. The staff were all nice and very helpful. Karen waited on us and did a great job. The only thing that made me sad was I ask to buy a little thing of Turkey so we could have a sandwich at our motel later but the manager said no. They would only sale us 1 pound for $10.99. We were very sad but life moves on. Very thankful for the people who worked today so we could still enjoy a great meal. read more

If you are traveling and considering stopping here for a quick meal - do yourself and those with you a favor and don't. I say this because first, I am a local Macon native so I know this place. Countless times I have been in there only to not even be acknowledged once seated; food orders that take inordinately long times (even when not apparently busy) and vanishing wait staff, etc etc. I keep going back and giving them a chance but their problems seem to originate from the top down. It is a culture of indifference and apathy. The lack of guidance or anything resembling customer attentiveness is not practiced nor promoted here. Todays experience was that after I was seated, the restaurant was mostly empty and I waited and waited and waited. No one came and asked what I'd like to drink. Nothing. Meanwhile waitstaff are straightening chairs, arranging salt and pepper shakers on other tables. No one will even make eye contact with me so as to even acknowledge my presence. After 15 min I walked. Again... I knew better going in. I knew better than to have gone there again. It's not going to change until a clean sweep of the management happens and a top-down philosophy of service and customer-centric focus is instilled. I travel often and routinely stop by CB. Almost without exception they are all great experiences and I have no problems. I'm not writing this to CB as a corporation. Just this Macon Riverside location. As a further example look no further than next door where Cheddars was. They too had abysmal customer service and where are they now ? Closed and gone. Not from COVID but due to management indifference that shows through the jobs program employees. So, if you're considering stopping and it has to be CB, take Eisenhower to 475 if you're southbound. You can pick 75 back up just south of there. Or if northbound keep on rolling until you get to Henry County. There's a CB there where to the management and staff you'll actually exist as a customer. OK I stayed at the SI because I was on one of those old people tours you see that stop at Cracker Barrel and 400 grey haired people pour out. I went to take a tour of the USS Tennessee Fleet Ballistic Missile Submarine and we had old and young and even some "bubbleheads", you know who you are... AND No disrespect for our seniors. They knew our bus was coming (really only about 40 people) and we did not have to wait but maybe 5 minutes. If you are an American or you travel the highways in the south, you have been to a Cracker barrel. So this will be short and sweet. I did NOT order breakfast this time but ordered their dinner special of fish and chips. It was probably the best I have had in a very long time. They were light and crispy and gave me more than I really needed. I had fries and corn for sides and it was all good. Because of the food and service, it gets a 4+. read more

I've been here twice before and the food was alright. I came here with My family, and things were good for a moment. I realized no one came to take our order..to even ask what we wanted to drink. It had to be like 15 min of us waiting, which is too damn long when the waitress and waiters are serving others! There were waitresses walking around doing nothing. So I know they weren't short staffed. An older black man went to take the orders of a group of ppl who came in after we did, wtf? terrible service! We got up an walked out becaus it's utter bs. I will not ever patronize this location again! It's rude, and unacceptable to treat customers like this. Y'all lost my money and I will tell everyone I know to go to a different location.
