It seems that their familiar logo beckons in all of its bright yellow neon glory road-weary travelers, partying college kids, parents with kids in tow, hungry workers seeking a casual and quick sit-down meal and just about everyone else from every walk of life. Since Waffle House opened its first location back on September 5, 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia, it quickly established itself by offering a consistent selection of food and by being open twenty-four hours a day. For me, the biggest appeal of Waffle House has always been their hash browns, which you can get basic or topped with a variety of toppings such as chili, white sausage gravy, cheese, ham, onions and so many more items and you can combine these toppings in a multitude of ways. For my main course, I have usually gone with their patty melts or one of their egg breakfast options. I myself can see the strangeness that I have never had a waffle in a business where waffle is in their very name, but I prefer a more savory breakfast than a sweet one. If you are in the southeast United States, odds are you have probably passed a Waffle House location. It seems that they are on almost every major highway exit ramp and strategically placed throughout most cities and towns in the southeast. If you see one, give them a try.

They were really cranking out the orders, we were super impressed. Very good hospitality at this location! I ordered the cheese grits, crispy hash browns, and a waffle. I couldn't finish everything, but it was delicious and filling. I love fresh waffles! My dad ordered a breakfast I think and it came with toast, bacon, eggs, sausage, and cheese grits. He was so happy with everything. I would highly recommend you stop by this Waffle House off US90 if you're passing through and in the mood for some good breakfast food!

After a couple of beers, we ordered the Brisket sandwich to split and kids ordered the Cuban to split. Both dishes were plenty. Both were very moist, flavorful and served with fries. Delicious !!, Bartender was very attentive and friendly. Pricing for the 4 people wasn't too bad. The building itself is an old one in the Downtown Historic District of Lake City. Pretty cool. We started with spicy and classic margaritas--both were perfectly made. The bread service was fresh and delicious, and my French onion soup had great flavor. Colby's side salad was super fresh too. For dinner, I got the homemade chicken tenders (so good--NOT processed at all), and Colby had the Honey Pig Roll, Bang Bang Roll sushi , and the Cajun Seafood dish with fresh fish, large shrimp, and andouille sausage in a tasty house-made Cajun sauce. Everything was flavorful and well prepared. Our server was really busy but still did a solid job. The décor was amazing, and the live music at the bar makes us want to come back soon. We definitely recommend--just wish the brew house offered more local craft beer options!

However, the portion size was great; a teenager and middle aged man couldn't finish two dishes and a side, which is kinda insane. It was very cheap, large, and tasted extremely good. The service was also amazing; Julia was very kind and attentive; you should give her a raise! Everyone else was also nice, and it was nowhere near understaffed. Overall, the restaurant was clean, just as you might expect from a sit down restaurant. I forgot to take pictures, but I would suggest getting the gravy biscuits, which was a breakfast side.
