Finding good food while driving can be a challenge. But we hit the jackpot when we stopped at Bob Evans! The place is clean and bright, and the employees are welcoming and friendly. We ordered our food and shortly our meal was in front of us. I got their pick 2 special - a salad and soup. It was the perfect amount of food. The salad was fresh and made to order. My chicken noodle soup was very good - I almost wish I'd just gotten a whole bowl! Then there was the choice of bread - who knew banana bread would be an option? It was top notch. I was driving family for their annual Florida winter bird trip, when we decided to stop for a break. I loved Bob Evans' meals from when I was a kid, and I had a hankering for breakfast food while making a pit stop. We initially were greeted by Jay at the front, seated and the team helped with drink orders since we were hectic and couldn't decide on anything before everyone got a chance to "freshen up". Mary Jo was our server, patient and friendly, took her time with us since she could tell we were not locals. My parents are usually predictable but this place was kind of new to them. I ordered a breakfast omelette with loaded hash browns and pancakes. My elderly parents (both over 80) used the specials menu, it was like going 40 years back in time, when meals were $9.99! mother got the hamburger steak, my father the fish and chips. Both were very happy with the amount of food, along with the sides. Mary Jo brought out biscuits which are my absolute favorite but I specifically didn't get sausage gravy because we still had a long way to drive and I needed to be alert. Man, just perfect execution on it all. The cooks nailed our humble order, everything coming out piping hot, all timed together, everyone dug in and we almost finished it all. Took a couple biscuits with butter that Mary Jo gave us, and I packed my pancakes without syrup since I'm a Type 2 diabetic. Didn't matter bc the pancakes were so light and fluffy. As I paid the bill up front, you still are there back in time, seeing candy for sale that hasn't been prominently around for years, NECCO wafers, Giant Tootsie Rolls, Chunky candy bars. Brought back a flood of childhood memories when things were simpler. Bob Evans is like a beacon, giving you good food when you need it, great service all the way, and Jay who rang me up at the end was very kind- listening to my ramblings about how NECCO used to be in Boston but was bought by Spangler in Ohio. Mary Jo provided my father and I our drinks to go, his an unsweetened tea and me a Coke Zero. Really nice touch since I needed that boost to finish the 500 mile drive. A blast from the past but exactly what we needed at the moment. The memories I had while there eating were real, and I'm happy we chose to stop here. The waiter forgot the food we ordered and had a very bad service attitude! Never go to this restaurant

Service was very poor. I ordered coffee and food. My coffee came 15 minutes after I ordered, about 2 minutes before my food. My server never showed up again until it was time to give me my bill. The pancake and French Toast were excellent. The rest of the food was sub par. The eggs were over cooked, I ordered medium, received medium well. The sausage was extremely greasy. The bacon fried so crispy, it broke apart when I picked it up. The ham was good and the potatoes were as cold as if they were just then removed from the refrigerator. DO NOT GET THE BISCUITS AND GRAVY!. It was garbage. I even tried to cover the taste with hot sauce. It did not work. The country music in the background was good. read more

On 2 separate visits we were treated like royalty. Our servers Elizabeth, Charles Smith & Brandye Dennison were very friendly, polite and attentive. Our next visit our server was AJ. He was very friendly, polite and very attentive. They glanced at our tables and returned with what we needed. The restaurant was very clean and so were the restrooms. This Bob Evans restaurant is located along US 90 just west of the interchange with I-75. We were coming to our hotel for the night and missed the turn, so we happened to pass this place by as we made a U-turn. Since we don't have this place at home, we would come back here for dinner after getting settled at the hotel. My visits here were on August 26, 2022 (dinner) and August 27, 2022 (breakfast). After getting settled at the hotel, we wanted to have some dinner. We have always liked Bob Evans, so we came here that evening. Plus, we didn't have to deal with the traffic on US 90 to get there either. When we first came up, they weren't too busy at the time, but you could tell the building definitely looked newer. There was ample parking available as well. When we came inside, the staff were working on different tables and the bakery. We were acknowledged as soon as we came in and they said they would be with us in a moment. Sure enough, a moment later one came over and we were seated at a table. Our server Allison came over to the table shortly after getting seated. She asked us what drinks we wanted to get. Everyone went with a different drink. Just to note, they offer Pepsi products here for sodas. After she came back with the drinks, we were ready to order. I went with the Turkey and Dressing Dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy and macaroni and cheese as the sides. My mom went with the Pot Roast Dinner and my niece went with a Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. In a little under ten minutes, our dinner came to the table. The food came out nice and hot and as ordered. The entrées also came with bread, so I got banana nut bread and my mom got dinner rolls. The turkey and dressing was really good, along with the sides. It definitely hit the spot for me that evening. My mom had the pot roast dinner. She also noted that it was good too, but the only issue she had was that the pot roast was very salty. My niece had the bacon cheeseburger, and she really liked that as well. All in all, this was a good experience, so we came back the following morning for breakfast. When we came in the following morning, they weren't too busy at the time. We had gotten there a little after 8 am. After being greeted when we came in, we were immediately seated and our server Judy came to the table to introduce herself and ask for drink orders. After she came back with the drinks, we were ready to order. My mom and I both ended up getting the same thing, which was the French Toast Breakfast with bacon as the meat of choice. My niece got the Fresh Berry Farmer's Choice breakfast with hash browns, eggs, and bacon. In less than ten minutes after ordering, the breakfast entrées came out to the table. Just like dinner the night before, the food came out hot and exactly as ordered. The French Toast was really good. It was fluffy and easy to eat. The bacon was really good too and had a nice crispness to them. My mom had a similar experience. My niece really liked what she got. She has always been into pancakes. Of course, she went through the sides pretty good too. Overall, on both visits, we had a very good experience here. Service was on point and the food came out timely, as ordered, and hot. I could see that they were all on point in both visits. If I end up stopping into this area again in the future, I would definitely look to come back here again. Whenever we visit lake city we always stop here for breakfast and our server is always Judy. She takes very good care of the customers in her section, and she has become as close to us as a family member. The food is always delicious, the facility and restrooms are always clean. The atmosphere is very friendly and festive. Our grandchildren especially love eating here. read more

When you're on the road you are not spoiled for choice and unfortunately this place didn't deliver but was ok Hope the waitress was awesome but food was below par - it's what you expect from a chain. Bob Evans is usually a quick, reliable choice for breakfast. I visited this one for breakfast with my Mom before the beginning of Day 2 of a four-day road trip. Service was slow. It was adequate but nothing happened with any sense of urgency. Our orders were simple. Eggs, bacon and hash browns for Mom and eggs and bacon for me. It was all just a little bit less than average. It filled our stomachs but it was a bit of a let down from what it could have been. The bacon was "kind of" crisp and "kind of" warm. On our way to a winter home we made our normal overnight stop next door and walked over to this Bob Evans as we do for dinner. But am sad to say this Bob Evans has really hit rock bottom. Understaffed, just 2 waitresses, cooks that just wait to horse around and some what cook your food. Our waitress was in to hurry to listen to what I actually ordered and the sirloin was tuff as shoe leather, my wifes eggs where burned.....good grief charlie brown! When the waitress brought the check she made no offer to have the manager stop by for she just brushed it off. At the register when i shared thisdues with her, she didn't care either and likewise ignored the issues. So in conclusion I didn't even think they deserved a 1 star. Stopped in on a Monday evening at around 6pm. Restaurant was about half full. The hostess both sat us and took our drink order. Our first hint of a problem was when the hostess came back and began taking our food order. Halfway through giving our order, a loud voice from the kitchen loudly barked out her name and she just ran off. Another waitress came over 10 minutes later to try again. After about 45 minutes, I went up to the front counter to ask for an estimate on the food and the response was that they were slammed (?) and our order wasn't even on the first page. It's my first time here. Forget to take pictures of the light fixtures; they need cleaning. The water dropped from the ceiling. No fixing it or put the sign up to warn customers. We waited with two children for an hour to get our food. My omelet was the worst tasting meal I've ever had. It was like spaghetti on eggs. I asked for egg whites and no jalapeños which I would normally get at any restaurant . I've had chorizo omelettes probably over 40 times and this was just horrible. Tasted horrible. Growing up in Ohio, Bob Evans was a staple. But this one lacked a lot. Disappointing to say the least since we live in GA and haven't had Bob Evans in a few years. We stopped here on our way thru and had breakfast the next morning. The pancakes were ok but the sausage biscuit and gravy which was my altimeter favorite was not very good. My first time at Bob Evans and we were on the road heading south. So, we tried something new. Plenty of choices, good sweet tea, huge soft home cookin' biscuits. This place was clean and a nice stop. I would rate this place a notch above Denny's (not sure if it is 24hr??). My pancakes were good. The one issue we had was I ordered bacon and never got it. I didn't realize this until the bill came- the waitress had the manager investigate this- she came back and told us the manager would speak to us about this, since they can void that check. The manager then came back, a while later and told us we could void the check or take a coupon. This took way longer than it should have- so I would avoid ordering extras that don't come with your meal - but again- this may just be an isolated instance. Overall, good road trip food. read more

I'll give the food an 8/10. But the waitress was pretty horrible. I won't say who. We were seated by the hostess and sat there for 15 minutes without being asked what we wanted to drink. When she finally did notice us, she apologized and we waited 8 more minutes for our drinks. We finally ordered and got our appetizers just to find out I don't have a fork to eat my salad. Waited ten minutes just to get her attention! We got our entrees and those were very good. I got the roast beef and he got the country fried steak. Finally when desert comes around, our waitress comes around and says she put in an order for my cheesecake but it wasn't token out to defrost. I was so upset.
